Fantastic food - Edit
Found this on our 1st day in Porto & went back every day to either this one or their other cafe in Porto. We loved the pastel de nata & the quiche was gorgeous. We also had pain au chocolat & croissants which were also great. Also, the sandwich on sourdough with houmous, olives, tomato, tofu, salad was lovely & the toasted mushroom, pesto & rocket was too. Staff were all very friendly. Great place.

Lovely place and food! - Edit
We had the mediterranean sandwich, a quiche and two pasta de natas. The sandwich was good, especially the tofu ricotta and the fresh sour dough and the quiche was really good, warm, with a creamy filling including interesting green vegetables. The pasta de nata was good, but we don't have a comparison yet as it was the first one we tried.
Read moreThe staff was very friendly. The barista even gave us extra cinnamon rolls for free, we're looking forward to eating them later! The space is very small inside, but one sits closely (behind glass) next to the baker preparing the next baked good, which was great to watch.
Update: The cinnamon rolls were amazing! Yum!

Tienen muchas opciones veganas a muy buen precio. La calidad de los croissants un poco mejorable pero el pastel de nata vegano, sin duda uno de los mejores que he probado nunca

Yum! - Edit
I went here looking for a croissant or a pain au chocolat, but I ended up here at the end of the day and they didn’t have either of those available. I settled on a delightful chocolate pudding tart and it was lovely. Pro tip, don’t eat the flower. While it may be pretty and edible, it sure ruined the taste of my last bite 😂 #Veganuary

A Bakery Sent From The Heavens…! - Edit
There's nary anything open for an early (before 9 am) breakfast in Porto -- perhaps in hotel restaurants? -- much less a venue with vegan options. That said, during an early morning "Rick Steve's'" walking tour of the city, we stumbled upon Odete Bakery, at Praça Coronel Pacheco. "Meu Deus! Maravilhoso!" Indeed, what a splendid find: A fully-vegan bakery and sandwich eatery! With a menu that offers not just a few, but a cornucopia of vegan pastries, breads, sandwiches, toasts, and even pizzas, finding Odete was like manna from Heaven, I kid you not! I had me a ham/cheese "folhado pizza" that was perfectly flaky and utterly yummy! My other-half also did the same, along with one of their cinnamon rolls. Double-YUM!! Along with a couple of hot, dark cafés, we were more than satiated and ready to continue our walking tour. Naturally, too, we stocked-up on some holiday cookies to take back to the apartment!😄Oh, how we wish there was an Odete Bakery in Lisboa!!! It's not the easiest to find (tucked-away on a non-pedestrian street); however, whether you're vegan or non-vegan, I urge you to seek this little hideaway for the best we've had in Porto!! (And, too, I was told they've got a larger Odete about a 25-minute walk from this one.) GO!!! :D

Gratitude - Edit
I splurged on a cab to Odete because I was ladened with a heavy suitcase, a backpack, and a tote bag; and I still had to lug them the last three blocks due to a traffic accident. BUT it was so worth it! While trying to decide, the counter person was making a Mediterranean sandwich that looked really good. I had that and yes, it is sooo delicious! I also bought a pain au chocolat for later plus a baguette. Both were true to their French roots. I'm very grateful that a) Odete Bakery exists and b) I found them!

Such a lovely thing to find a 100% vegan bakery when on a mini break holiday! Whilst my friends were delighting in the local delicacy of custard tarts, I looked for somewhere that supplied vegan ones and was not disappointed! I bought almost one of everything and took them back with me to share with my (surprise and impressed friends!)
