This place never disappoints. It's been around a long time and rightly so as the food is amazing.

Fall from Grace - Edit
Too expensive for what it is, they used to have amazing pizzas so it was almost justifiable but the crust/dough aspect of the pizza has changed and their prices keep getting higher. Also forced 10% service tip which they try to make you feel bad for asking to remove means I won't be back. Used to be my favourite in Edinburgh, sad.

Best vegan meal I’ve ever had - Edit
My partner and I had a reservation here back in COVID times and we were absolutely blown away. The charcuterie board was outstanding, typically I’m not a huge fan of vegan cheeses, but everything was delicious, especially the meats. Both the pasta dishes we ordered were outstanding as well. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant more!

One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten - Edit
I am almost speechless at how delicious this place is. Every single item we got was so carefully crafted and unique - I had never had vegan burrata, carbonara, or cacio e pepe in my 11 years of being vegan. The vegan creme brûlée also was from a dream! The space is small and intimate and everything is crafted with love.

Bijou but bountiful. - Edit
Small space but can seat around 18 people. Nicely furnished, quality glass and silverware, cute lamps on the tables. Feels special.
Read moreGreat menu. I had the carbonara and a glass of red from Abruzzo, B had lasagne and a glass crodino. I was too full for dessert but B could not resist tiramisu as it’s his fave dessert. It looked like a decadent piece of art, and tasted fab.

The atmosphere was cozy, food delicious and the staff friendly. All in all one of Edinburgh's best vegan restaurants, if not the best. Would definetly eat here again when in Edinburgh.

Incredible pizza - Edit
As other reviewers have said, it is not cheap. But it is SO worth it! Went in a group of four and we all tried each other’s pizzas and honestly all four of them were just amazing. Loads of toppings, delicious base and a really good portion size. I left feeling a bit overly full despite only having a main! Really friendly service too.

Best vegan Italian… ever? - Edit
The tiny cozy quarters of Pizzanova only adds to the quality and intention of the dishes. It’s run by a small team, and we met the two owners - an Italian couple who were working hard on a Friday evening.
Read moreThe food is outstanding!! Have tried vegan Italian in many places, but this one was so special.
Again, it’s a small space, so do make a reservation beforehand! We ended up sitting at the tiny bar because we didn’t (on a Friday night).
We ordered: the creamy carbonara, the Roma pizza and tiramisu to boot. Superb!!! 5 stars!!!
Pros: Creamy carbonara , Roma pizza, Tiramisu
Cons: A little tiny, Needs a reservation

We had a great time, we shared the garlic focaccia, then had the Roma and Caprese pizzas and finished with the tiramisu. We were impressed with everything and the service was really good. I would recommend booking if you want to go

Too expensive - Edit
I had the carbonara which was £24.20 including the service fee. It was tasty food but absolutely not worth the price, although Edinburgh does seem to be expensive at some places.

(Long, detailed review)
Read moreI'm visiting my omni friend in Edinburgh and I thought it'd be nice to try here. It's a small restaurant so a reservation is essential. We paid £80 for a focaccia, two pasta dishes, one dessert and two soft drinks including the service charge and tax. It is definitely a treat to dine here and I'd love to visit again next time I'm here.
The garlic focaccia was perfect. I have never eaten a more delicious bread in my life! 10/10
I ordered the carbonara. I noticed in other review pictures that the sauce texture is inconsistent but this didn't bother me. The sauce was creamy and rich, the cheese and bacon were delicious in flavour, and the spaghetti was cooked consistently throughout. The portion was far too big for me I barely made it through half of this dish. What I did eat was extremely filling. The server didn't seem impressed that I had to leave so much food but that's not something that I can help. Despite this, they remained professional. As a completely personal preference, I would've loved some mushrooms in there and a little more salt. 8/10
My friend ordered the paccheri cacio e pepe. Whilst she enjoyed it, she found that the pasta was cooked inconsistently with some parts more cooked than others. She found the sauce excessively peppery even though it was a cheese and pepper sauce. She thought a nice addition to the dish would be aubergine and mushrooms. 7/10
My friend also ordered the pistachio cheesecake. As an omni she was very impressed by this! She found it indistinguishable from a dairy cheesecake with its creamy and rich flavour and perfect consistency. I was absolutely stuffed but I managed to try a little slither of this and I can confirm it was absolutely delightful and delicious. 9/10
We will visit again when I return next year but I think it would benefit us to share a main because the portions are just massive! Next time we'll share a focaccia and a pizza main then get a dessert each and I think that'll be perfect to ensure we can eat it all.

Must visit - Edit
Fantastic evening at Novapizza. Had rosemary focaccia to start (note this is a flat, crispy bread). Mains were Toscana pizza - lots of toppings and delicious roasted flavours - and Paccheri Alla Norma - creamy, tomato-y, aubergine-y comfort pasta, it was very good. House red was really nice, as was the raspberry fizz we started with. It was a special night out so did not mind that, yes, it's on the pricier side for us, and you can tell the ingredients and cooking are great quality. Lovely atmosphere and service.

A very classy Italian restaurant. I had the caprese pizza with a rocket salad. The cheeses were amazing and the pizza was chewy (rather than crispy).

Cutest restaurant ever!! - Edit
It is such a nice and cute little restaurant and the food is just amazing! We had the ricotta and the bruschetta as a starter, then one of the signature dishes (I forgot the name, but it was the one with the cheese cream) and the lasagne and as a dessert the pistacchio cheesecake (omg!!) and the tiramisu. We wanted to come again tomorrow to try the pizza which looked just great as well but unfortunately they are closed and then we are already on our way home to Vienna :-(
