I went to this place with zero expectations, knowing already that it would be crowded and I was worried that at the end it wouldn't even be worth it but I was completely wrong. I mean, not about the crowded part, it was totally busy and we got a tiny table in front of the kitchen but about being worried it wouldn't even be worth it because it was.
Read moreI ordered "The Traditional One" which you can get with meat but also as a vegan version. As a vegan you can decide between pulled oyster mushroom and shawarma sababa. I took the shawarma sababa which isn't cheap at all as the price is 16 Euro but I tell you, you won't regret it.
The plate comes with fries and 5 different dips out of Hummus, Tahini, a mangodip called Amba and a sauce in the traditional Yemen way called Zhug. Also you'll get fries, a salad, olives, pickles, a pita bread and the protein of your choice. You definitely won't leave hungry. I was in a food coma after I finished.
Every dip tasted amazing but you need to like Tahini since they put it in a lot. The fries were good, well seasoned, and the shawarma was incredible. Every bite made me so happy. I would say it was one of the best dishes I've had since I live in Cologne. I still dream about it and want to come back as soon as possible.

Das Sabich war sehr lecker und ist zu empfehlen, auch wenn es etwas teurer ist! Der Bestell- und Bezahlvorgang an der Theke war wenig einladend, da ich kaum Zeit hatte die Karte ausführlich zu lesen bzw. ich mich dabei etwas gestresst gefühlt habe. Folge: Es wurde wenig bestellt und auch nichts mehr nachbestellt, auch wenn ich das eigentlich gerne gemacht hätte. Leider wurde mir auch gesagt, dass auf der Karte bis auf die Mayo alles vegan ist, was offensichtlich falsch war.

Great vegan food in a very crowded place - Edit
Location is kind of an in-spot and always very crowded. Food tastes amazing, plenty of clearly labeled vegan choices. They use the Beyond Meat Kebab as substitute to veganize their plates. Tasty hummus & dips!
Read moreYou have to order your food at the counter and will get it to your table then. It can be hard to get a table and it could be more cosy overall, I always feel kinda rushed and stressed a bit.
I can also recommend the drinks.

My plate with humus, shawarma and kebab and fries was very tasty. But the place is loud, busy and don’t invite to stay long. You have to order at the bar and have to pay directly. That’s really stressful. The Israeli beer was great and the Arabian coffee, too.

Read moreThe ordering concept is like a fast food, I think it could be more efficient. One has to queue to order and get a number. The staff then has to find your number in order to bring you the food. If you want something more you have to queue again..

I had the beyond kebab after a long day of travelling and not eating much. It was out of this world. I absolutely loved it. Their hummus is incredible, their beyond meat mixed with herbs is amaizng and I throughly enjoyed it. Would recommend if you fancy something a little different.

Great variety of vegan dishes. I tried the BeyondMeat Kebab dish with fries and salad, which was really good. It comes with a non-vegan mayo but the waiter asked if I wanted it vegan and served it without the mayo.
Read moreTry as well the original mocca after the main course, it gives you a good amount of caffein.
Staff was really nice and welcoming. It was busy as it was a weekend, but they did their best. :)

Good Mediterranean Food at Modest Price - Edit
Very cozy place in the Belgian Quarter. The place had just opened a few weeks ago and I was eager to try it. There were several vegan options and I ordered the mixed vegan plate called the "Super Bowl". Even though it was listed as vegan, one of the sauces in a little bowl was a mayonnaise. When I asked if it was vegan, the waiter asked the kitchen personnel and they replied it was not and they apologized and removed it.
Read moreThe food was very tasty, but the Schug was very mild and not as spicy as I've had elsewhere. These problems could be attributed to their first few weeks of being open, so I would try them again.
