Carísimo

Probei catro cousas e paguei 17 €...

Cons: Prezo, Hixiene

Obrigada!!

Not good coffee

This might have been my fault for asking for an iced coffee, but it was not a good coffee. Very watery and I wasn’t a fan of the flowers on top that overly flavoured the drink. It might be that she makes her own plant milks.

The pastries looked amazing and I wish we’d got some to take away.

Hello!
But we want to develop a few small things. We are a fine, organic and quality pastry. Our coffee is also organic.
The flowers on our drinks give NO taste. 🤔 It's only decorative.
Yes, we do everything at home, which everyone appreciates. ☺️ (Cream, milks, butter………)
Ps: The pastry is AMAZING, Too bad you only ordered 2 coffees in a pastry shop.

Closed

Travelled across Porto to visit this bakery and although the website stated it would be open it was closed.
Very disappointed.

Pros: Menu looked good

Cons: Closed

Hello Sandy,

Were you at the right door and the right address?

We have far too much respect for our customers (and unfortunately more than them for us, to forget to mention a possible closure.) We are indeed open to our usual hours. :)

Moreover, if you came in front of our pastry shop, you must have seen our schedules written on the door, as well as on Google (and any other networks) correct.

So we don't understand your wrong comment.

We wish you a nice holiday.

Love

Grumpy staff

The cappuccino was very good, the mango dessert was good but not wonderful.
The place is cute.
The staff was so unfriendly!
There were two woman and neither of them seemed to care whether we were there or not.
I stood by the counter for a while waiting to order while they looked at their phones. And each interaction with them made us feel like they were bothered to serve us or speak with us.
It was a very weird and unpleasant experience.

Bonjour,
Conclusion donc hâtive.

Massive Disappointment - what happened?

My Green Pastry was top of my list to visit when I arrived in Porto. I’ve been vegan for over a decade and champion vegan brands and places all over the world. I’ve never left a negative review but we were shocked with our visit.

When we arrived there was no one there but (what turned out to be the owner) sitting and talking to someone. I greeted them with a huge smile and said how happy we were to be there, the hot walk was worth it and we were so excited. She did not respond, no welcome, nothing. I asked her if she could explain what the pastries were as we did not speak French. She was rude and dismissive and I had to point to each one to get a response which was mainly in French. No engagement, no explanation, no smile. Considering the wonderful reviews on the friendly owner I asked if she was the owner and she said yes! We decided to share one and we seated ourselves, weren’t offered a drink or told to enjoy. It was so awkward as we were the only ones there! She carried on talking to her friend. The pastry itself was also a huge disappointment. It was an almond pastry and dry and tasteless. We were so confused and shocked and sad at the whole experience. We paid and left. She never stood up or thank us but said “obrigada” to our backs as we left. What did we do wrong? Is this place under new management? We walked down to another place (Tupi) and were greeted warmly and chose a delicious vegan pastry each and an espresso for the same price as one pastry at My Green Pastry. I’m still shocked at the whole experience!

Pros: Vegan

Cons: Shockingly rude service, Pastry was dry and quite tasteless, Expensive

Bonjour,

We accept criticism, including negative feedback, when it’s sincere and expressed respectfully (without presenting oneself as some kind of saint). Unfortunately, your message seems to stem more from bitterness than from any genuine desire to understand or contribute constructively.

Our pastry shop is a small, independent, family-run business, built with love, dedication, and long working hours. We focus on quality, organic ingredients, and handmade recipes — often prepared while you're peacefully sleeping in your Airbnb (as I mentioned when you sarcastically asked if I was the chef).

Respect and kindness are core values here — toward people, animals, and the craft we’re passionate about. We’re not perfect, but we give our best every single day. Most of our customers recognize that. As the saying goes, trying to please everyone means pleasing no one — and that’s not our goal.

You may not have enjoyed your experience, and that’s your right. But spreading false claims or launching personal attacks is neither fair nor helpful — especially on a platform meant to promote mutual support and respect.

As for my fellow chefs and bakers, they don’t need to be mentioned here. Each of us does remarkable work in our own way. We’re all different, and that’s a good thing. If you’re curious: some are loyal clients of MGP, just as I support them in return. That’s part of what being vegan means — respect and solidarity.

The pastry shop you referenced follows my work and finds inspiration in it — which I appreciate. But they use industrial products and are neither 100% plant-based nor vegan. They’re simply riding the trend.
I also love Lupin, which offers 100% authentic Portuguese cuisine — the kind many of us miss. Highly recommended.
There’s also BAOMERANG, where I’ve had the best baos of my life — my go-to comfort after 14-hour workdays. Different cuisine, of course.
And Anastacia Marina in Póvoa is a great spot for family meals where everyone finds something (vegan, gluten-free, or classic). But again, not fully vegan.

So promoting another bakery on the profile of an independent, artisanal, organic pastry shop — on a platform meant to support both animals and people — feels, frankly, a little immature.

No hard feelings.

We’ll simply keep focusing on what really matters: serving those who appreciate authenticity, transparency, and a little sweetness — without bitterness.
Amour toujours,

Marthe – Chef & Founder

Some good some not.

Pastries were all beautiful. I had the Framboisier which was delicious, as was the chocolate oat milk. The cupcake was on the dry side but had nice flavor. Also, the chocolate covered cookie was dry and not very tasty. It says that everything is made fresh daily but 2 of our pastries tasted a day old. For the price, I expected better. Also, the girl behind the counter was borderline rude. And not very eager to answer questions. I would not return.

Pros: Location, Framboisier

Cons: Couple pastries were dry and lacked flavor , Unfriendly counter person

Hello again! 🌞 <
We’re going to respond again, even though we already did so in person :).
There’s a difference between saying you didn’t like all the cakes and claiming they weren’t good… Hmhm.
Tastes differ for everyone!

As we told you face-to-face, we were closed for 4 days and produced everything this morning.
So your theory is simply impossible.

We open at noon… there’s a reason for that, right? We’ve been working since 5 a.m.😉

Just to clarify: it wasn’t a macaron, but a madeleine with pieces of macaron :)

The one you found dry, the cupcake, was gluten-free.

You’re paying for several days of work! We don’t buy anything pre-made. That’s the difference.

Unpleasant? I know the basics of hello, thank you, and goodbye.

Especially as I was recommending to you the most popular pastries…
I’m not the one leaving a public comment without saying what was good or not — but i saying it directly in person!

In fact, I came to see you when I saw you had left, to give you some good food addresses.

Silly of me, since I saw your comment at the same time and even read it to you in person, while still giving you my recommendations. You take paper, no thanks, nothing. Only « raiva ».
