Never misses

Had a number of mains and desserts here and all were very good. Interesting and creative menu items mean its difficult, in the best way, to choose what to have!! There are also daily specials on the chalkboard

Pros: Relaxed atmosphere, LGBTQ+ friendly, Nice space, adjoining record shop

Best comfort food in town

We were in Glasgow for a short trip and were recommended to go to Mono twice in a day and it did not let us down! When arriving, we had a hard time to decide what to get - so many great options. For starters we got buffalo mushrooms with a blue cheese dip, main dishes included Mac’n’cheese with an add-on black pudding and an olive pizza. Portions were generous at a reasonable price. If you get a chance to go there, give it a try!

A Glasgow Institution

Been coming to Mono for years. Always a reliable, solid choice for vegan food in Glasgow.

This time I had the sticky mushrooms with fries, side of Mac and cheese, and a chocolate cake!

Empfehlenswert

Wir waren zwei Mal da, die Auswahl ist relativ gut. Das Essen war recht schnell fertig und lecker.

Pros: Gute Auswahl, Angemessene Portionen

Great Vegan Spot in Glasgow

I had a great experience, staff were friendly, it had a nice atmosphere and the food was also good.

I had tofu “fish” and chips which really scratched an itch for me. Fish and chips is something I’ve missed since being vegan.

As a vegan place there are no shortage of food options. I wish I could have tried them all.

Pros: Friendly staff, Nice atmosphere , Great food

Lovely full vegan restaurant

This place is brilliant. So many things to choose from and all vegan! Had the vegan haggis, with potatoes and the whiskey infused turnip cream which was such a nice combination of flavours!
The creme brûlée, however, was a bit too set for me. More like a flan than creamy - but the taste was nice.

Pros: Variety, Nice flavours, Friendly staff!

Good food!

We went for a Saturday lunch and the place was quite busy!
We tried the pizza with aubergine, the tofish & chips and the pizza crunch. Everything was good, the deep fried stuff was a bit greasy but very tasty.
I would go there again to try more dishes!

Sehr sehr empfehlenswert

A tasty meal

Loved sitting outside (it was so busy we had to but this was good as it was a nice night!) You can just walk in and get a table which is good even on a Saturday.

We shared the Spice Bag it had like doner style seitan pieces, onions, peppers and chips. It was expensive for a side but delicious.

I enjoyed the plain margarita pizza. It was very tomatoey which I liked.

My partner enjoyed the macaroni and cheese with garlic bread.

Would definitely return
Was just so great to have choice!

Mono No Aware

Stereo was busy so we went to Mono, I had the tofish & chips plus added mushy peas, I was really delighted that it wasn't too strong a fishy taste, battered perfectly & great chips. My friend had the macaroni cheese & chips, she was enjoyed thoroughly. Would definitely go back. Added bonus of some Hacienda posters on display.

Pros: Delicious food, Friendly staff, Nice atmosphere

Long live Mono

I go to Mono every time I am in Glasgow. The food selection is great--quality and fresh food options. Last time I had a caesar salad and their baked mac and cheese and the combo was perfect.

The space itself is also really fun, with the record store (Monorail) basically inside the restaurant.

A must visit when you are in Glasgow!

Chilled vibe

Very relaxed bar and restaurant with outside seating. You can reserve a table indoors but not outside because of the changeable weather. We sat inside, good choice on the menu, helpful staff, excellent Scottish cider 100% vegan menu.

We shared the Artichoke Bruschetta, I had the Thai salad and my husband the haggis burger. The burgers were fake meat style which isn’t my taste, but my husband loved it. The tofu and noodle salad was refreshing. Sadly they had sold out of the cheesecake, but we shared a tasty sundae. Would come again

Pros: Artichoke bruschetta, Chilled vibes , Scottish cider

Super Tasty Vegan food

This is a place that offers great vibes, very welcoming and full of art. The food is very satisfying! We tried the following stuff:
Pizza Crunch > despite the rough deep fried appearance it's not too heavy and surprisingly tasty, very good
Pizza Thai Sausage > pretty good pizza with the right amount of spicy
Tofish Tacos > balanced flavour and very tasty
Bruschetta > creamy, crunchy and very satisfying
Satay Skewers > it's more of a side but it's a good satay skewer served with nice salad
Peach cheesecake > soft, delicate and awesome
Coconut Raspberry sponge > delicious and spongy
If you're in Glasgow give it a try

Pros: Pizza Crunch, Coconut Raspberry Sponge, Tofish Tacos

Funky spot

We had been to Stereo twice and went to Mono for lunch. It was good! Menu is a bit different and the space is funky and has outside seating. Lots of beers, full bar and coffees as well. We had the wee Mac and cheese and it was great. Burger and tofish were ok. Asparagus with blood sausage was really good. Bonus tip go to the chocolate shop right nearby for delicious vegan chocolates

Pros: Funky space, Menu variety, Daily specials

Relaxed dining option

A great place to come for a relaxed dining option. Huge, diverse menu which makes it very difficult to decide what to get 😂.
Indoor and outdoor seating options.
Food was delicious and very comforting.
We had the Mac and cheese - which was super cheesy, creamy and nostalgic.
We also ordered the nduja pizza - Spicy and satisfying oily 😋

Doughnut smores for pudding was insane, so sweet and such a treat 😍

Nice food menu and beer

The menu of the restaurant is diverse, so it was difficult to decide. The Hagis was very good and the pasta was also tasty. Nevertheless, it was very oily and the olive oil was unfortunately not flavorful. I really liked that the service takes orders at the table which I experienced the first time in Scotland.

Bar and restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating

I stopped by for a late lunch on a sunny afternoon and sat outside. The area is a bit gritty, but don’t worry the food is great. I had the Baja Fish Tacos, seemed to be breaded fried tofu? Soft tortillas, pickled onions, cabbage, pico de gallo, and cream sauce. I enjoyed the tacos! I also ordered fries because I was really hungry. The fries were hot and crispy, very nice.

Pros: Many customers brought dogs, Nice menu variety

Cons: Sitting outside, expect smoking

Our top vegan venue

Mono is a gem of a place. Myself and my wife MUST visit it every time we are in Glasgow. The food, the drinks, the staff, the atmosphere, the prices are all top notch. Been round the various menus over the years and probably tried everything between us. Bring back the vegan schnitzel please, we miss it dreadfully! And if in doubt try the Mac n cheese. Also has Monorail records in the same location with genuine indie superstars behind the counter. What more could you want? The answer, nothing.
