Great casual 100% Vegan Cafe - Edit
This is a great find in a country where vegan restaurants are scarce. Located adjacent to a lovely plaza and very near the famed Marche Capuchins; the vibe is casual and lively. A cafe rather than a “dining” experience, with a menu consisting mainly of “bowls”, burgers and nachos plus scrumptious sounding desserts (sadly I didn’t have room). They also feature weekend brunches.

We stumbled across this place - how lucky! It was Indonesian themed this time and we had incredible Nasi goreng. Thoughtful use of flavours and textures. Also great cocktails!

Gros coup de coeur pour le nasi goreng à chaque fois, que ce soit tel quel, avec des aiguillettes végétales ou avec du jackfruit, les burgers sont également délicieux et j'ai eu la chance de pouvoir faire une fois le brunch du dimanche qui est copieux et divin !
Les plats sont toujours bien assaisonnés, les portions sont généreuses et même une "simple" salade prend une dimension toute autre chez Monkey Mood,
Pensez à réserver si vous le pouvez, il y a toujours beaucoup de monde et c'est pour le mieux !

Needs vegan ethos! - Edit
You book, then somehow you get there early. They ask if you booked, you say yes but I'm early and they say oh well we won't be able to serve you for 25 minutes - at this stage I nearly left - so then you sit on the terrace for 25 minutes under the scorching sun, but no one even brings you a menu or a bottle of water. The restaurant is only half full at the maximum, by the way. So eventually you order and by the time you start eating they've told two groups of people (five persons total) exactly the same thing and the people left - one couple had already been sitting down for nearly 10 minutes. They obviously don't need the clients !

A place to discover vegan Indonesian flavors! - Edit
This Indonesian-inspired vegan restaurant promises colorful plates based on rice, peanut, roasted jackfruit.

We shared a Jack Nachos, nachos with homemade cheddar, acar bening, red onion pickles, coriander, shredded jack, peanuts and special monkey sauce
I was able to test a Nosi Goreng, a typical Indonesian dish, sautéed rice, ginger, crunchy vegetables and kecap manis (caramelized Indonesian soy sauce) with a very original vegan egg on top of the dish.
For dessert, an exceptional pandan crème brulée (an aromatic herb with hints of vanilla and almond) with a surprisingly delicious green color!
Burgers with tempeh or shredded jackfruit are also available à la carte, as are bowls.
Brunch is also available on Sundays, so give it a try next time.
A children's menu is also available
Not suitable for peanut allergy sufferers
In short, a place to discover vegan Indonesian flavors!

Food was fresh (made to order) and used a lot of local/homemade ingredients. Although this means you'll struggle if you're in a rush, e.g. our burgers took 25 mins to arrive. The staff were extremely friendly and the cafe was bright and airy! We can't recommend it highly enough!

Brunch lacking protein, too salty - Edit
The brunch was quite attractive and everything was tasty (except the nasigoreng was far too salty and was simply too much rice without something like vegetables and/or tofu to counterbalance). But the main thing that will keep me from ordering this again was really the entire lack of protein in the meal. We wanted to order a jackfruit burger to have some protein but it wasn’t available.

Monkey Mood est vraiment le restaurant végan à tester à Bordeaux ! Tout avait l'air délicieux. C était dur de choisir!! J'y etait avec des amis, nous avons partagé les nachos, ouis j ai pris un nasi goreng aux legumes avec supplément kimchi. C etait un régal! En dessert j' ai testé la creme brulée au pandang qui était aussi délicieuse. Les portions sont généreuses.

I’ve been reviewing vegan places for years, and this is probably only the third somewhat negative review I’ve had to leave. I visited around lunchtime, but they were fully booked, and the person who informed me seemed a bit rude. Fair enough, I came back for dinner (booked this time), but again, I didn’t feel very welcome. The waiter was particularly rude to another customer, which set a bad tone for the evening. While the food is really good, the staff I interacted with during both visits came across as off-putting.

Thankful for this fantastic 100% vegan restaurant. Recommend that you book a reservation, because we saw them have to turn at least a dozen hopeful patrons away. The food is absolutely delicious, and plentiful for a reasonable price. We ordered their delicious nachos to share (a nice Asian peanuty twist), and had the nasi goreng and Sambal manis. So very satisfying. Had a bottle of Bordeaux that paired nicely with the food, and our server was friendly and accommodating. Very highly recommended this restaurant!!!!

As a group of 3 we ordered nachos to share and all 3 types of Nasi Goreng and we loved it. Absolutely don’t forget to order dessert, the crème brûlée and the mango cheesecake were equally incredible! Overall great experience!
