One of the best ramen ever had!

One of the best ramen we’ve ever had and comparing to vegan ramen in Japan! Great choices and the flavours are amazing. The restaurant is a small shared table which is a lovely experience, you can see the chefs cooking the food. The ramen and sides are all amazing and went back multiple times to try various ramens! Would advise you book as not sure you can walk in and get a space easily.

Pros: Best ramen , All vegan , Incredible flavour

Best tast ever.

Dec2024:
After 2 years still the best food I ever have tasted. The menu is just perfect ☺️🤤

Sep2023:
Last year my brother told me I had to go here when I was staying in Holland, but I didn't (fool I am). Now we go almost every week once (unfortunately next weekend is the last time, for now😄). I will never forget the first bite of the ramen bowl. The tast was incredible. I only have eaten ramen once, so I can’t compare, but I eat a lot in vegan restaurants and this is now one of my favorite restaurants.

We have tried both lunch and dinner and both are highly recommended. Unfortunately I can't recommend any of the sauces as I love them all. If you like a bit spicy, order the extra super spicy! You get this separately and then you can make it as spicy as you like. Even if you only add a little bit, your ramen will immediately taste very different (I thought it couldn't get any better, but it could!)

(my two friends who aren’t vegan also loved this place and have been here themselfs.)

Les meilleures ramens de ma vie !

Nous avons dîné ici avec mon mari. Nous n'avions pas de réservation mais le serveur qui était absolument adorable nous a trouvé une table. Tout était parfait que ce soit les ramens ou le saké. On a adoré ! 🤗

Pros: Les saveurs incroyables des ramens, La gentillesse et l'attention du service , Le cadre ultra chaleureux

Cannot recommend enough!!

If you have to choose one restaurant to eat at in Amsterdam THIS IS IT! Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish here. The staff were all lovely and attentive, talking you through each course. Make sure to book in advance as it's fairly small (could house probably 20 people max) and the 7 course menu takes about 1.5 hours to get through. The flavours of each course were absolutely amazing and blew me and my partner away. They deserve more recognition!

very nice experience

It’s a five course menu that you have to reserve a spot for at least a day in advance.

You will get a time window of 1:45 h and either be seated at a huge table with other people or - if you book early enough - there are places for two available.

The food is decorated very nice and between the courses there is not too much and not too less time.

Food tastes fantastically. The sauce from the ramen to dip was very heavy and a little salty but still good.

This is a whole food experience and for a special day I would definitely come again.

Pros: the atmosphere , the food !!

Impossibly good

Men impossible is fantastic! You arrive at the time you've reserved and are treated to a welcome tea and snacks. Then, over 1 hour and 45 minutes, various plant-based Japanese dishes are served to you. There's a great variety of flavours and textures and everything is delicious 😋

The friendly staff will explain everything about the dishes that they bring to you and there's a relaxed vibe in the restaurant

Wow - one of the best meals I’ve had in my life!

This place was an amazing date night spot. My girlfriend and I went for dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed. You start with hot tea and salad. Everything is chosen for you on the set menu, except for the main course of ramen, you get to choose between a couple ramen flavor options (5 courses total including dessert). Everything was decadent and tasty and perfect and it was so cool to experience some authentic Japanese food knowing it was all vegan! The service was amazing, they were so nice, and they told you about each dish after they brought it to you. I think it was a fair price for what you got as well (49 euros each, and you had to put down 30 euros online when booking). Also the place is reservation only.

Top end ramen

One of my favourite places. Largely a set menu. They have two appetisers as options and a few more options for how you get your ramen. Each is sublime. Their craft beers are also very interesting.

Best meal in Amsterdam

Incredible quality Japanese tasting menu at Men Impossible. By far the best food we ate in Amsterdam. Everything was incredible and I was personally so happy to get vegan takoyaki one of my favs pre veganism. The price was extremely reasonable for the quality. I didn't want to be at the share table so had to be quite on top of booking to get one of the few private tables so beware if you don't like being at a share table. Seats could have been more comfortable as well. While all the staff were working extremely hard and doing a great job (especially the young chef!) I think they could have done with another member of staff for more efficient service, I wouldn't usually expect to have to get up to get the bill at a place like this. I would happily pay more for this meal to justify higher labor costs. But overall we had a great time and I highly recommend booking.

Pros: Incredible food, Friendly and knowledgeable staff, Did I mention how good the food was?

Cons: Slow service due to minimal staff, Uncomfy chairs.

Best meal of my life

I’m serious when I say that this was the top meal I have ever had, anywhere. Every bite of every dish was mind-blowing. My partner and I were just laughing between bites because it was so good. Combined with the truly wonderful vibe: one tiny room, Chef Ishida cooking right there, one long family-style table with lots of happy people around it chatting, kind servers… it just doesn’t get better than this. Every vegan/veg person who goes to Amsterdam must go to this restaurant.

Exquisite experience

Most vegan restaurants in the area that we tried were more of the fusion-cuisine and soulfood-variety. Thus, we were delighted to find that the evening course menu at Men Impossible offered a more authentic, traditional culinary experience. The flavors and textures were more subtle and deliberate. The service was very fine dining-like as well.

Lovely, detailed, and delicious dining experience

I came to Men Impossible because the ramen I had at the Ramen Impossible pop-up in London was probably my favorite ramen away. While this experience did not completely blow me away like that ramen did, the multi-course set menu showed off the chefs' skills with lots of intricate and unique small bites, all very tasty! The atmosphere is also very lovely and intimate and the staff is so friendly.

I Can Die Happy

Honestly, if I was on death row and this was my last meal I would have died a very happy vegan. WOW!

The restaurant itself is lovely, and dining together on one big table created a create atmosphere, but it was large enough that you could still have your own intimate meal and conversations.

The food was incredible. Four courses of pure heaven. We loved the advice to wait until halfway through our ramen before squeezing on the lemon juice. They were right it totally transformed the flavour and it woke your tastebuds back up.

This will be going right to the top of our Amsterdam 'to do' list every time we come back to the city.

Pros: Seriously delicious food., Unlimited tea., Great atmosphere.

Cons: Nothing.

Thoughtful Decisions

The entire staff greets you as you walk in. You feel seen and welcome.

The restaurant has a huge community table, which encourages conversation among the guests, but I never felt forced to or awkward not wanting to as I have social anxiety. So that is a very important note, if you feel uncomfortable not being seated at your own little table.

Water and green tea are on the table and free, which is great when you‘ve had a long walk through town. The lunch menu is simple and won‘t throw you into paralysis. The dinner course meal is best described as a compilation, as you can taste everything they do. Either way you won‘t miss out, no matter when you decide to dine here.

Obviously the reason you show up is to dive into their ramen. The sauce is incredibly rich and creamy. I was most surprised by their button mushrooms which imitates marinated eggs. The texture was unbelievable. I do take away one star, because the noodles left a bit to be desired.

I highly recommend the dinner menu, because the sesame tofu was to die for!

In a recent newsletter the restaurant announced that they would overhaul the menu and develop new dishes and I can‘t wait!

AMAZING

I would recommend this place to everyone! Make sure to make a reservation since the restaurant only seats 12 people at a time. There’s a set menu but you can give some preferences for the sauce etc. It’s a great experience and the food is amazing. It’s very clear the chef and the staff care a lot about the food they serve and it makes for a great experience.

Amazing experience!

The first courses was a variety of delicious little like appetizers. Each one tasted so differently and yummy! And then the main course - left us completely satisfied and amazed by the good taste! We loved it here! Also, the staff was very kind. If I could I would come and visit more often. If I come back, I’ll definitely will be back here! Men, Incredible!!!

One of the Top 5 restaurants I’ve eaten in

I have been to many vegan restaurants and this place is definitely in my Top 5 ever. With a few refinements, this would deserve a Michelin.

The food is innovative and showcases the subtly, depth and boldness of Japanese cuisine. I had the evening set meal which started with a plate of cold starters (three small separate items - the cashew nut mousse is exquisite) followed by hot starters (comprising 8 different items). You then select a noodle dish (definitely try the chefs recommendation). The dessert was a let down, relative to the rest of the amazing meal.

The venue is on a traditional Amsterdam street. The restaurant is relatively small and feels like the dining room of a stately home. The staff are friendly and attentive.

The restaurant offers a number of drinks (no wine) including a range of sakes which went very well with the meal.

Every city should have one of these restaurants.

Heerlijk!

Heerlijk gegeten, ik had de seitan katsu. Matcha creme brulee als toetje was ook echt geweldig. Aanrader!
Enige kleine minpunt is de rumoerigheid , maar dat weegt niet op tegen t eten.

Just delicious

I haven't had ramen very often, so I'm by no means a ramen expert. But the food served at men impossible is utterly delicious. We were seated at the two seats overlooking the kitchen which was fun as we could see what was going on in the kitchen. One of us tried the tempura course while I tried the katsu course. Both were fantastic, can't really say that one is better than the other. I especially loved the katsu schnitzel made from seitan, the lentil ball (both warm starters) and the cashew nut mousse (one of the cold starters). Staff was very friendly and helpful. The main course which was obviously the ramen bowl was mouth watering good and portion size was spot on. For dessert we were served a matcha creme brulee which was a delightful ending to our dinner, not overly sweet and a good matcha taste.

Be sure to visit this place when in Amsterdam, it's vegan comfort food at its finest.

Pros: So delicious , Very friendly staff
