Best cruelty-free Colombian food - Edit
I absolutely loved this place. The decor is great, the menu offers a lot of vegan takes in Colombian dishes, and the staff was really sweet. I was able to try the ajiaco, which I loved, and the price is great too.

We got the set lunch and then the salchipapas from the menu. Everything was great, the menu of the day was really good value at 19k including soup, main and a fresh drink. Cool decor and friendly staff. (Forgot to take any photos)

The picada was super high in different proteins and amazingly tasty! The sweet banana, guava and tofu ball it comes with is like a free added pudding! Would highly recommend! Chill vibe and nice music.

Visitamos María Candela en noviembre de 2024, y debo decir que fue una experiencia maravillosa. Este restaurante vegano se especializa en platos típicos colombianos.
Read moreYo pedí el almuerzo del día, que estaba delicioso y muy bien balanceado, mientras que mi amiga probó el ajiaco vegano, que fue simplemente espectacular. Se nota el cuidado que ponen en la preparación y los sabores auténticos que logran recrear en su versión vegana.
El servicio también fue excelente; el personal fue amable, atento y siempre con una sonrisa.
Lo único negativo fue que tuvimos que esperar un poco para conseguir mesa, ya que el lugar tiene un espacio limitado y estaba lleno a la hora del almuerzo. Sin embargo, valió totalmente la pena la espera.
Recomiendo este lugar a cualquiera que quiera probar comida colombiana con un giro vegano.

Read moreFui la primera cliente que llegó, la persona que atiende me dijo que no tenían disponibles la mayor parte de los platos de la carta, la cual por cierto no es muy variada, entonces las opciones eran mínimas, además la carta está toda en inglés, lo cual me pareció extraño en un país cuyo idioma predominante es el español.
Si bien es cierto que es una zona muy turística en La Candelaria y llegan muchos clientes extranjeros, también debe haber también un menú en español porque hay personas que no entienden inglés. Así que pedí una 'picada' pero lo que me sirvieron fue una mezcla de algunos pedacitos de gluten con un poco de maíz tierno y hogao, lo cual claramente no correspondía a la descripción en la carta de lo que pedí, afortunadamente tengo un nivel de inglés suficiente para entender lo que decía.
Una parte de la comida estaba fría y hay algo más que no me ha gustado de la gran mayoría de restaurantes veganos a los que he ido, incluyendo este, y es que las únicas bebidas que ofrecen son gaseosas, kombucha, cerveza y otras bebidas embotelladas, en un restaurante vegano no se consigue una simple limonada que es lo más básico o algo que no sean gaseosas u otras bebidas así, que además son costosas. Ofrecen un solo jugo natural pero viene con el menú del día, si uno pide otra cosa diferente al menú del día solo ofrecen lo que mencioné anteriormente.
I was the first customer to arrive, the waiter told me that they did not have available most of the dishes on the menu, which by the way is not very varied, so the options were minimal, plus the menu is all in English, which seemed strange in a country whose predominant language is Spanish.
While it is true that it is a very touristy area in La Candelaria and many foreign customers arrive, there should also be a menu in Spanish because there are people who do not understand English. So I ordered a 'picada' but what I was served was a mixture of some bits of gluten with some baby corn and hogao, which clearly did not correspond to the description on the menu of what I ordered, fortunately I have a good enough level of English to understand what it said.
Some of the food was cold and there is something else that I did not like about the vast majority of vegan restaurants I have been to, including this one, and that is that the only drinks they offer are soda, kombucha, beer and other bottled drinks, in a vegan restaurant you cannot get a simple lemonade which is the most basic thing.
Pros: Limpio, iluminado, fresco, buena ventilación.
Cons: No tienen disponible una buena parte de la carta, bebidas embotelladas y costosas, sirven lo que ellos quieren, no lo que uno pide.

As of October 2024 the meal of the day costs 18,000 pesos. Today's meal had a bowl of cream of carrot soup, a juice drink, and the main plate with 3 different items. I thought the food was good and I would return if in this neighborhood again. Arrive no later than 12:30 afternoon to get a seat quickly. They don't have a lot of tables and by 12:45 all of the tables were occupied.
