Sweetpotato delight - Edit
As mentioned in the Happy Cow description, the fresh Imokin is supposed to be vegan. They have packaged ones that have a longer shelf-life where they added milk and eggs, so don't grab those. Again, only the fresh imokin is vegan and should be eaten within 24h.
Read moreThis treat was super tasty! Creamy sweet potato filling and dough-like coating - containing sweet potato, flour, starch, sugar and salt. Advertised as a traditional treat from the Edo period. The name imokin means "potato gold" and you understand why once you tried one.
Location: You can find this little shop directly next to Tokyo Station. On the first floor, find the "Daimaru" shopping mall and go to the hall with that sells Omiyage (sweets in boxes to gift). At the far left corner in the back you will find the Imokin shop.
Rating: 4/5 Super tasty but I wish there would be vegan ones to take home with you and perhaps more variety. We grabbed several though because we couldn't stop eating them.
