Convenient Location and Tasty Food in a Pinch

The restaurant is located in the lobby of a hotel (Rome DoubleTree by Hilton Monti). Sparse vegan options but the host was willing to double check all my vegan inquiries and was very helpful. I ordered the veggie pizza (no cheese) and minestrone soup. Both really good.

So I asked the hostess why the minestrone was vegetarian and not vegan because no dairy/egg allergies were listed. She said they put cheese on the side (probably catering to Americans). It would be super helpful if they also listed a “can be made vegan” option.

The hostess seemed to think tomato sauce wasn’t vegan. Our pizza didn’t have any. I suspect there may have been fish sauce in it and was grateful the chef omitted it. I’ve learned not to argue with staff because you might get what you (don’t really) want.

Pros: Location , Great taste, Helpful staff

Cons: Could have been more vegan options, Labeling could be better
