Da das Mala Ende des Jahres leider schließt, hatten wir uns entschlossen unsere kleine Weihnachtsfeier dort zu verbringen, um gut zu essen und gemütlich beisammen zu sitzen.

Alles war wie immer köstlich.
Vorspeise:
Kohltatar mit Senfkaviar, gebackener Weintraube und Schwarzkohlchip.
Hauptspeise:
Konfierter Wirsing mit Belugalinsen, Quitte und Salbei-Mandel—Butter
Dessert:
Salbeiblätterteig mit Maronencreme und Gewürztoffee
Das Dessert erinnerte mich leicht an Windbeutel, welche ich seit mindestens 13 Jahren nicht mehr gegessen hatte. Natürlich um einiges köstlicher.

Mala keeps it simple -- basic chairs and tables, short menu -- but in that setting offers outstanding food. It's not cheap (mains €22), but the flavours and taste combinations are worth it.

Loved this slightly hidden restaurant/café in Leipzig. We came here for a celebration and got an (pre-booked) incredible buffet with starters, mains and cakes. The variety of tastes made our stay here a wonderful experience. However, the weekly menu sounded delicious as well and I would have loved to try it.

It’s a cute and kind of alternative place. It’s nice to sit outside if the weather allows it.
Read moreStaff is really friendly and the food choices are good. Many vegan options and special daily dishes. The flavour of the food is really good and the ingredients (as advertised) should be locally sourced and organic.

Im etwas versteckteren Restaurant Mala findet ihr eine wechselnde Wochenkarte mit leckeren veganen Speisen (auch Kuchen), sehr liebes Personal und einen gemütlichen Freisitz für schöne Sommerabende. Ein Besuch ist es auf jeden Fall wert!😄

The Mala-Burger was juicy and tasty. Next time I‘ll have to try the vegan Pelmeni as the table next to me was raving about them. Give them a call and book a table in advance, as it might get crowded in the evening and on weekends.
