A special treat from an outstanding restaurant! And 100% plant-based.
Read moreWe got the takeaway menu for Valentine’s Day: 9 taster courses for two. It was paired with wines we had at home, candlelight, and great company. The food was layered in flavor, texture, presentation. Top class!
Starters were served with some tiny potatoes which had a crispy, salty skin:
- Kohlrabi, spinach leaves and a delicate preserved lemon mayo: the red peppercorns (I think?) add just a little bang.
- Artichoke, white bean and black sesame tahini: had some real umph! and it was black, so, win.
- Cashew nut ricotta, figs and pomegranate: great ricotta-like texture, and the figs were gooey delicious.
Mains were:
- Celeriac, smoked creme fraiche, hazelnut and kale: melted in the mouth with a lovely nuttiness and crispy kale.
- Roast eggplant with fermented black bean and sesame: I think the eggplant was hand-roasted over open flame until just a wee bit of crunch developed and the insides turned to heaven.
Sides that could have been mains:
- Green salad with seaweed, which we ate with:
- feta mousseline with berries: tasted genuinely cheese-like but not at all heavy and complemented the well-balanced salad dressing.
- Cashew nut ricotta with artichoke: should be eaten with a serving spoon in large quantities.
But then there were two contrasting raw cakes for dessert:
- A light, Gelatine-like blueberry cloud with a touch of nutty flavor.
- Pistachio with a gentle taste of coconut flakes on some sort of crunchy base and glued to the plate with a gooey reduction of slightly salty fudge.
Overall, an unbelievable taste adventure that I would recommend to anyone looking for finer dining that leaves you satisfied with the entire experience.
NOTE: When I ordered, I mistyped my phone number, but James was gracious and super helpful sorting out my mistake. Our food was delivered in minutes after I rang to enquirer. We had the instructions needed to keep the mains hot while we enjoyed the starters. Really outstanding service!

Un petit restaurant très agréable où le service est attentionné et surtout, la nourriture incroyable ! J'ai testé le menu dégustation à 44€, un vrai régal. Cela faisait longtemps que je n'avais pas vu autant d'inventivité et de finesse. Je conseille à 110% !

A welcome addition to the neighborhood - Edit
Great and much welcome addition to the restaurants in the southern part of the Helsinki downtown area and just a few blocks from the immediate city centre, this gem has delivered both with their tasty lunches as well as innovative menus (have sampled two separate menus so far). You can select a set menu or combine your own. The service has been excellent and everything I tasted was delicious and well prepared, with much attention to detail. Creative reuse & recycling of tableware and furniture. A perfect spot for any occasion!

They’re doing a lunch menu for a limited time and it’s totally worth you’re time. The different portions worked together beautifully and the place has a nice hipster vibe without being too trendy. The place to go for an interesting lunch experience. The portions aren’t huge so it’s more a light lunch than a buffet.
