Delicious food, especially tempeh - Edit
Food was really good. I didn’t know what to expect with the hemp theme but it was a chill restaurant playing relaxed music. We had the hemp curry, tempeh and the sweet and sour soy pieces - all were great and nothing tasted weird or like hemp. I especially recommend the tempeh which was super sweet and makes a nice dessert.

The staff spoke great English and were friendly.

Nice food, amazing vies and Friendly staff - Edit
Almost only vegan restaurant (they have 2 fish options, rest is vegan). We got a table with a view and could watch the sunset over the ocean and enjoyed aox of small dishes. Onigiris are huuuuge. Fried tofu is delicious.

Located right in front of the beach of Yuiga-hama, this restaurant provides great vegan Japanese food using some hemp as one of the ingredients. The ambience is quite chill with some soothing music. We were quite happy with the food, we will definitely revisit.

Delicious curry-set and sides! - Edit
We went here for lunch and it was delicious! It's up some metal side steps when you reach the building. I got a curry set with a Gyoza side and orange juice, it was ¥3,500 in total. The curry set portion was good, it came with curry, rice, salad, soup and 3 vegetable sides (one was daikon). The Gyoza were so delicious, I just wish the portion was bigger than 4! A member of our party had fries (although they're actually wedges) and the hemp croquette. The fries were incredible, the croquette was an interesting flavour but still nice. There are a number of things on the menu that are vegan and clearly marked on the menu. The options seem to change depending on whether it's lunch or dinner. The staff seemed friendly and the food came out pretty fast. We had a lovely view of the sea as we ate, it's worth a visit.

Loved the nachos - Edit
Ordered the nachos, soy meat karage, dumplings, and fries, and two cocktails. Nachos were amazing, as were the fries (more like wedges, but super tasty). Could have done with a little less salt, but a great meal which we enjoyed!

Weird attitude towards foreigners - Edit
I went there many times because the food is tasty and the view is great, but I don’t appreciate that part of the staff is sort of condescending towards foreigners, even if they speak Japanese. I hope they’ll get new staff.

Loved seeing staffs' smiling faces! - Edit
Loved seeing the staff's smiling faces (if you know what I mean). Cafe is run and staffed by critical thinkers and does not discriminate any kind of customer who might not be wearing something when they enter the cafe. Such a hippie and beach vibe all over the place :-D

Beachfront, vegan-knowledgable, relaxed spot! - Edit
Really nice vibe, with live music on the first floor and dining above. The staff knew and shared what was vegan in japanese and english (which was 3/4 of the menu). Great option! I hope they consider going all vegan at some point, so I can give them 5 stars!

Lucky surprise! - Edit
I had the vegan hemp pancake burger. To be honest, I did not know what to expect with this combination (pancake burger?!) but it was heavenly! The location is right at the beach overlooking the sea. Unfortunately the street can get quite noisy but it still has a nice vibe. I don’t know why there are two listing for this venue (one vegan and one veggie-friendly) on happy cow but when we went they definitely had non-vegan items on the menu. Would definitely recommend it for a nice lunch close to the beach.

Beach front cafe with cool ambience - Edit
A small cafe selling hemp pancake vegan burgers. Set on the beach front the interior is small and industrial but food is great. Service was wonderful and we watched the waiter (owner?) create the most wonderful looking roasted coffee for some other guests. Burger was delicious and we sat watching the sea.

Great Ambiance, Tasty Food - Edit
Magokoro’s location can’t be beat. We sat right by the window with a beautiful view of the ocean. The host was friendly, accommodating, and spoke English very well. We came during “tea time” between lunch and dinner, so the full menu was not available. However, the host easily accommodated us with hot yuzu ginger tea and cool peach juice, two plates of veggie curry with added tempeh, and a brownie for dessert. Although the restaurant serves fish, everything else appears to be vegan, including the breads and desserts. The host encouraged us to come back again to try the full vegan set during lunch. I think we will!

Friendly, fast, fresh - Edit
Curries, daily set meals, pasta, desserts, organic wine, draft beer, lassi, smoothies, sake— this vegan-friendly restaurant on the beachfront at Yuigahama is one of the few open “late” for dinner in the off-season, and though hemp is the featured ingredient, there’s a lot of variety in the menu and the staff can explain all of the dishes and whether they are vegan, vegetarian or other. The atmosphere is casual, relaxed and welcoming. Service was quick and attentive; there is an English menu and a small selection of hemp and artisanal products for sale. My curry platter had a generous portion of tempeh (not easy to find in Japan), crunchy raw veggie salad , herbed rice, potato salad , and an agreeably spicy chutney. We had a fun chat with the multi-lingual owner at the end of the evening.

English below👇

Magokoro is a small restaurant overlooking the beach in Kamakura (closest station: Hase). They have a few fish dishes but everything else is vegan, I think. The interior was rustic and charming, and the place had a really nice, chill vibe, with a spectacular view of the ocean.
Unfortunately, we didn’t pick a great time to go— on a sunny summer Sunday, for lunch. The restaurant was totally full, with a long line of people waiting outside, and there was only one server. He was doing his best, but it took a really long time to get anything, including cups for water.
I got the taco rice (1180 yen), which was delicious but a little small. We wanted to order dessert but when we told the waiter, he said “Please wait, I’ll be right back.” Ten minutes later, we just paid the check and left. I’m not in any hurry to come back here.
