Delicious food, especially tempeh

Food was really good. I didn’t know what to expect with the hemp theme but it was a chill restaurant playing relaxed music. We had the hemp curry, tempeh and the sweet and sour soy pieces - all were great and nothing tasted weird or like hemp. I especially recommend the tempeh which was super sweet and makes a nice dessert.

I was served at around 8pm, so they are open later than description says.

The staff spoke great English and were friendly.

Pros: Tempeh

Nice food, amazing vies and Friendly staff

Almost only vegan restaurant (they have 2 fish options, rest is vegan). We got a table with a view and could watch the sunset over the ocean and enjoyed aox of small dishes. Onigiris are huuuuge. Fried tofu is delicious.

Pros: Fried tofu, Gyoza, Nice view

Calm and yum

Located right in front of the beach of Yuiga-hama, this restaurant provides great vegan Japanese food using some hemp as one of the ingredients. The ambience is quite chill with some soothing music. We were quite happy with the food, we will definitely revisit.

Pros: Great vegan Japanese food , Location: right in front of Yuiga-hama beach, Calm atmosphere

Cons: Nothing in particular

Delicious curry-set and sides!

We went here for lunch and it was delicious! It's up some metal side steps when you reach the building. I got a curry set with a Gyoza side and orange juice, it was ¥3,500 in total. The curry set portion was good, it came with curry, rice, salad, soup and 3 vegetable sides (one was daikon). The Gyoza were so delicious, I just wish the portion was bigger than 4! A member of our party had fries (although they're actually wedges) and the hemp croquette. The fries were incredible, the croquette was an interesting flavour but still nice. There are a number of things on the menu that are vegan and clearly marked on the menu. The options seem to change depending on whether it's lunch or dinner. The staff seemed friendly and the food came out pretty fast. We had a lovely view of the sea as we ate, it's worth a visit.

Pros: Good selection of food., Good portion size., Calm atmosphere and a nice view.

Loved the nachos

Ordered the nachos, soy meat karage, dumplings, and fries, and two cocktails. Nachos were amazing, as were the fries (more like wedges, but super tasty). Could have done with a little less salt, but a great meal which we enjoyed!

Weird attitude towards foreigners

I went there many times because the food is tasty and the view is great, but I don’t appreciate that part of the staff is sort of condescending towards foreigners, even if they speak Japanese. I hope they’ll get new staff.

Dinner with beach view

I visited the restaurant on the second floor for dinner.

Had a vegan Dinner Set, which combined a variety of dishes.
Even though I didn't specifically ask beforehand, what would be included in the set, every dish was delicious and the different textures and tastes left me full and satisfied.

The atmosphere was relaxed and staff were friendly and comforting.

Nutritious and delicious!! Would love if they would go fully vegan! Friendly staff and chill atmosphere.
I just recently noticed that the restaurant also serves food on the first floor. They have amazing hemp pancakes there!! 😋

Loved seeing staffs' smiling faces!

Loved seeing the staff's smiling faces (if you know what I mean). Cafe is run and staffed by critical thinkers and does not discriminate any kind of customer who might not be wearing something when they enter the cafe. Such a hippie and beach vibe all over the place :-D

This is such a nice spot at the beach. Vegan menu depends on the day, but there is always something on the menu or staff is happy to put something together too. I spotted some vegan desserts on the menu when I went.

Cons: A bit expensive

Beachfront, vegan-knowledgable, relaxed spot!

Really nice vibe, with live music on the first floor and dining above. The staff knew and shared what was vegan in japanese and english (which was 3/4 of the menu). Great option! I hope they consider going all vegan at some point, so I can give them 5 stars!

Lucky surprise!

I had the vegan hemp pancake burger. To be honest, I did not know what to expect with this combination (pancake burger?!) but it was heavenly! The location is right at the beach overlooking the sea. Unfortunately the street can get quite noisy but it still has a nice vibe. I don’t know why there are two listing for this venue (one vegan and one veggie-friendly) on happy cow but when we went they definitely had non-vegan items on the menu. Would definitely recommend it for a nice lunch close to the beach.

Beach front cafe with cool ambience

A small cafe selling hemp pancake vegan burgers. Set on the beach front the interior is small and industrial but food is great. Service was wonderful and we watched the waiter (owner?) create the most wonderful looking roasted coffee for some other guests. Burger was delicious and we sat watching the sea.

Pros: Vegan menu and delicious vegan burger, Cool interior , Friendly atmosphere

Tasty food, great textures, healthy lunch plate

Lovely food and relaxing style restaurant. Couple of vegan and vegetarian options. Tempeh plate with hemp rice, salad, and pickles and Vegan curry. All the dishes have some form of hemp ingredient, or you can add CBD oil as additional cost.
The owner proses himself in healthy, home cooking, fermentation, fresh local produce.

One of my favourite places to go In kamakura. Good price and (large) portion size

Vegan tempeh is sweet, sticky and great texture! Rice is perfect and super healthy!

They offer coffee, tea, herbal teas, beer, local drinks and even dandelion coffee alternative

Sell hemp products, cbd oil, clothing, shoes, zero waste, specialty salt.

Pretty location overlooking Kamakura beach

Pros: Tasty food, Good price and portion size , Good location

Great Ambiance, Tasty Food

Magokoro’s location can’t be beat. We sat right by the window with a beautiful view of the ocean. The host was friendly, accommodating, and spoke English very well. We came during “tea time” between lunch and dinner, so the full menu was not available. However, the host easily accommodated us with hot yuzu ginger tea and cool peach juice, two plates of veggie curry with added tempeh, and a brownie for dessert. Although the restaurant serves fish, everything else appears to be vegan, including the breads and desserts. The host encouraged us to come back again to try the full vegan set during lunch. I think we will!

Pros: Great location and view, Extensive vegan menu, Friendly and accommodating staff

Cons: Full menu not available between lunch and dinner

Charming little café with a chill vibe and great burgers

We went there with my friends yesterday and we choose 3 vegan burgers and were not disappointed at all! The buns are made from hemp pancake. The patty was a mystery (but with a great texture!) and the sauce was delicious.
The owner make everything from scratch so expect to wait but you can listen to the jazz music in the bar, have a drink and watch the sea... I really enjoyed my lunch here.
The owner speak a very decent English and he also can speak French !

Pros: Great quality food, Nice little café in front of the sea, Nice owner

Friendly, fast, fresh

Curries, daily set meals, pasta, desserts, organic wine, draft beer, lassi, smoothies, sake— this vegan-friendly restaurant on the beachfront at Yuigahama is one of the few open “late” for dinner in the off-season, and though hemp is the featured ingredient, there’s a lot of variety in the menu and the staff can explain all of the dishes and whether they are vegan, vegetarian or other. The atmosphere is casual, relaxed and welcoming. Service was quick and attentive; there is an English menu and a small selection of hemp and artisanal products for sale. My curry platter had a generous portion of tempeh (not easy to find in Japan), crunchy raw veggie salad , herbed rice, potato salad , and an agreeably spicy chutney. We had a fun chat with the multi-lingual owner at the end of the evening.

Pros: Vegan and vegetarian friendly , Comfortable seating and beach views, Reasonable prices

Meh

English below👇

Magokoro is a small restaurant overlooking the beach in Kamakura (closest station: Hase). They have a few fish dishes but everything else is vegan, I think. The interior was rustic and charming, and the place had a really nice, chill vibe, with a spectacular view of the ocean.

Unfortunately, we didn’t pick a great time to go— on a sunny summer Sunday, for lunch. The restaurant was totally full, with a long line of people waiting outside, and there was only one server. He was doing his best, but it took a really long time to get anything, including cups for water.

I got the taco rice (1180 yen), which was delicious but a little small. We wanted to order dessert but when we told the waiter, he said “Please wait, I’ll be right back.” Ten minutes later, we just paid the check and left. I’m not in any hurry to come back here.
