Amazing desert

Very popular spot, and open late. Deep fried donut balls and ice cream, with a range of topping. Totally delicious. Peanut butter, cinnamon, chocolate, nuts and many more toppings. Vegan options are labeled, and staff were helpful and knowledgeable about veganism.

An order is 10 balls, great to share with someone.

Fried dough balls that I had covered in chocolate and peanut butter what more could you ask for?! I ate them all. No shame.

Delicious vegan treats!

Yes, it is unhealthy. Yes, it is deep-fried. Yes, it is covered in chocolate. And hell yes, it is absolutely delicious!

Deep-fried donut-balls with chocolate, sirup or sugar topping. We went there during christmas time, so they had a vegan chestnut filling, which added some extra deliciousness. Definitely far away from light, healthy food, but so, so worth it.

vegan donuts in Athens!

These fried balls of dough are heavenly, especially with the chocolate sauce. Highly recommended.

Very tasty!

It was great to be able to try a vegan version of this classic Greek dish. I had mine with agave and cinnamon. There were other vegan options available including bitter chocolate and nut toppings. The portions are pretty big and very sweet so I would recommend sharing!

Good traditional greek doughnut

If you want to try their doughnut, ask what vegan toppings they have. When we were in Athens in autumn-winter, they had some stuffed with pumpkin. They were better than the chocolate ones.

Pros: Good value, Friendly staff

Cons: Not so healthy

It’s fried dough

There’s nothing special about it unless you really miss funnel cakes or something. They’re OK, but it’s nothing spectacular.

Try at least once! :)

A very new dessert for us, but we simply loved it!
The ones with apple inside were our favourites, together with vegan chocolate!

Pros: unique, delicious

Cons: not really healthy ;), loud

Try the ones with Agave sirope

As a Greek who has tried many different lukumades, I must say these ones are really nice although only the ones with agave sirope. I didn't like the chocolate they put...Maybe they should try another chocolate (example like the one the c- friends street food store in Psiri put at their vegan crepes).

Pros: They don't give plastic forks but wooden instead!

Good dessert in the city centre

It is not trivially easy to get some vegan desserts (apart from fresh fruit) in the very city centre of Athens, but Lukumades is quite a good option. These deep fried balls are obviously a bit fatty but also tasty.

Pros: Right in the centre of Athens, tasty

Cons: not so healthy
