Great flavors - Edit
The food was so good! I loved the salsa. Green sauce that comes with the salsa is not vegan, but they have a vegan one if you ask. I got the beyond steak burrito and it was really good. Rice would make it better but I don’t know if their rice is vegan.

Pretty good - Edit
Kinda pricey but I enjoyed it! So did my non-veg friend who got something else. So happy they have so many vegan ingredients like chicken, cheese, crema, and the green chip dip. Offers vegan and non-vegan rice/beans so be careful with that

Super good vegan Mexican food - Edit
Lola’s is incredible! If you are in Long Beach and want some Mexican food, they won’t disappoint. The menu is a little limited for vegans but everything they have on it is good.
Read moreBe aware that the initial green sauce they bring to the table is not vegan but you can request a vegan version that they will bring out at no extra cost!
Pros: Tasty food, Friendly staff, Nice outdoor seating area
Cons: Limited options, On the pricier side for tacos

Better over time - Edit
They have gotten better over time at making sure that every part of the meal you order is actually vegan. Definitely ask your server about everything (salsa, cheese, beans). Note that some of their vegan cheeses actually look like dairy cheese, so ask before you assume it isn’t vegan.

Cons: Pricey, Double check that everything is vegan

Oh yeah Lola's - Edit
I was shopping with a gf on 4th so naturally tacos and margarita's were a necessity after a few hours in the sun.
Read moreI ordered the vegan tacos jalisco and wow i was not disappointed. I ordered 1 of each of the three types of tacos, chik'n, soyrizo, and zucchini and mushroom. I really can't say for sure what I like the best all of them I would order again. I honestly think I loved the zucchini best, the flavors were great and they didn't overwhelm like soyrizo can sometimes and I am trying to steer myself more to a plant based and less processed diet. baby steps, but my palate is changing.
They have this green salsa that is absolutely addictive and when it is hot out and you have margarita's you need self control not to fill up on chips and salsa like I did before the entree comes.
There are only a few items on the vegan menu, but they cover all the basics; tacos, taquito, burritos, and enchiladas. I didn't see a dessert option, but many of their dishes are served with plantains and those are a perfect little sweet ending to your meal.
Pros: vegan menu, great salsa
Cons: meat

yummy vegan menu - Edit
Lola’s is a very cute & trendy little mexican style restaurant is pretty yummy & now offers a whole separate vegan list (consisting of 5-6 items). i went with the vegan chicken enchiladas with red sauce & it is pretty yummy, especially because we need more vegan friendly mexican food. the rice and beans were a little bland, but otherwise it was good. definitely worth a stop!

Okay - Edit
This restaurant is okay - I was excited to try it after hearing so many good things. I did find two vegan options - tacos and one burrito, which was disappointing. I felt like the only vegan thing I could find at some restaurants is veggie tacos. Oh, well. The life I chose.
Read moreI was disappointed when the guacamole came out with cheese on it. I don't normally have to specify no cheese when ordering chips and guac. It was an issue for the pregnant vegetarian I was with since the cheese was unpasteurized. Unfortunately this is not one of my go-to Mexican restaurants.
Pros: atmosphere
Cons: parking, cheese on everything

Make good choices - Edit
Lola's is good, but make sure you double check everything with your server, and be very specific when ordering/asking. They have a few different kinds of beans, but only 1 of them is vegan, 1 is vegetarian, and 1 has meat. Same goes for the rice, some of it is veg-safe, and some contains meat. Once you obtain a vegan dish, it is very tasty! Their chips and salsas are really good too.
