Fantastic veggie dim sum! - Edit
Delicious tea, fantastic dumplings and food! We loved the fried bean curd/seaweed rolls and all of the dumplings we got. The BBQ mushroom buns were excellent as well! Tea menu was extensive, we got chrysanthemum and enjoyed it a lot. Great service too, our waitress was so nice and helpful.

Delicious dim sum! - Edit
Came here for vegan dim sum and it was amazing! Our favourites were the fresh lily veggie dumpling and the pan fried seaweed bean curd rolls. The glutinous rice ball in jasmine tea sweet soup was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had; the black sesame filling was incredible! The restaurant staff were also lovely: they explained which menu items were vegan, gave us a complimentary red bean dessert, and prepared a bowl of fungus-free noodles for my friend who hates mushrooms!
Read moreDo be warned that some options are mislabelled as vegan! I went with my Cantonese-speaking friend who was able to confirm that none of our food contained eggs/milk/honey, but do double-check rather than assuming (e.g. the deep-fried cheese spring roll was — they confirmed — definitely not vegan, but was labelled as vegan on the menu).
It is more expensive than some other options, but we felt it was worth it for the food, the dim sum experience, and nice atmosphere/interior (and still very good value for money — just more than it would be elsewhere in HK). (Also, our single cocktail each came to $118 out of a total bill of approx $350 per person — so if you give the alcohol a miss, it is quite reasonably priced).
It is a little tricky to find; you need to go up the hill and into the square. (If using Google Maps, set your destination as the parade ground or Tai Kwun, not the restaurant itself.)
Be aware that although the restaurant closes at 11, last food orders are around 8-8:30 pm.
Overall, we really liked LockCha and would definitely recommend!
Pros: Dim sum, Desserts, Friendly service
Cons: More expensive , Some inaccurate labelling

Lovely location, friendly staff, great tea, beer and food - Edit
Really interesting beers made from tea and the tea I tried (four seasons oolong) was delicious. We also ordered a lot of food and it was all really tasty and well presented.

Expensive and lots of meat replacements - Edit
Good food but pricey and it is very dominated by meat replacements (beyond it impossible - which had quite a dominant flavour in my opinion).
Read moreTheir vegan labelling is completely off, as they don’t know the concept. But the vast majority of dishes are vegan. I was told that the baos and noodles use eggs

No, not all. I was told that the noodles and the baos use eggs. But yeah, the labelling is wrong

Good location & menu, but some dishes were bland - Edit
Sichuan style dumplings had v little Sichuan peppers, and the vegan pork skewers came with a really runny satay sauce that tasted ready-made instead of fresh. However, the other choices such as the steamed cabbage dumpling, bean curd with laver, and seafood dumpling were really good! Definitely ask for chilli sauce and vinegar as dips.

Excellent Dim Sum, Great Location - Edit
I really like this place- the location at Taikwun is fun and happening. There is spacious outdoor seating adjacent to Taikwun’s main plaza, and slightly more cramped accommodations inside. The food is excellent, but be careful to note the vegan designations as at least one item features “vegan beef” in the title but is not actually vegan. At the risk of stating the obvious, this place has an amazing tea selection- including cold options for hot days.

Al fresco dining with traditional Chinese food - Edit
(Updated after a year) Recently I went there a few times for breakfast and lunch. Service has been upgraded, perhaps because of new staff. Food was excellent. Highly recommended.

Environment: Cozy, traditional, relaxed
Food: Some vegan choices on the order sheet during lunch. Dishes are marked vegetarian and vegan. Portion of some dim sums is very small. So expect the bill to go up if you don't eat like a bird. Tea is the main offering and range from HK$40 to up to a few hundred dollars, similar to their Admiralty branch.
Service: So-so
Price: High
Pros: Outdoor seating with good view of Tai Kwun
Cons: Bring insect repellent if you sit outdoor
