Really good Thai curry!!

Loved the vegan options they had on the menu but wished they had even more, when it comes to the market n dishes. The ambience and decorations are quite nice. the price for some of the drinks felt to high, but with that said their juices are so good! The service was great and they had big portions which compensates for the cost of each menu item. Almost all of the desserts are vegan! I recommend the pineapple punch juice , the vegan Thai curry, and the apple pie with cashew cream. I wasn't such a fan of the babaganoush, the texture was off and the flavour was a bit strange.

Pros: Amazing juices & tasty food , Ambience, Portions

Cons: There could be more vegan options in the main dish, Bathroom faraway from actual restaurant

Plant-Based in Cascais

We headed to what would be the terminally touristy town of Cascais a bit later than our normal time; so, after doing the old sightseeing jag around town, it was definitely time for some chow! After a bit of a struggle trying to find some place that offered vegan options (besides Indian food and Beyond Burgers), we came upon Your Healthy Kitchen, located on the second floor within the TimeOut Cascais Marketplace. We grabbed a seat out on the balcony overlooking the fresh farmers' market. Our wait staff was young and welcoming. We shared an appetizer of guacamole and chips, which hit the hunger pangs. For my main, I went with the Tofu Poké Bowl. It was a large bowl stuffed with mouthwatering goodness; really refreshing and 100% satisfying. I don't normally do desserts, but I couldn't turn down the opportunity to try their vegan "Snickers" dessert. OMG, it tasted just like a frozen Snickers bar! And three enormously filling chunks, to boot! YUM!!! Needless to say, I was stuffed to the brim when all was said and done. Again, wait staff was super friendly and attentive. (Jay went with a curry tofu dish and thoroughly enjoyed his order, as well.) Overall, it was a very fine and filling late-lunch, and would definitely come again! :D

Pros: Food, Outdoor Seating, Service

Great Spot to Eat and Relax

Your Healthy Kitchen, situated within the vibrant Time Out Market in Cascais, offers a delightful dining experience. The establishment exudes a welcoming atmosphere, particularly when enjoyed outdoors, where patrons can immerse themselves in the lively market filled with local produce vendors. The exceptional wait staff provides impeccable service, enhancing the overall dining enjoyment. The menu caters to a diverse palate, offering a comprehensive selection of vegan and non-vegan options, ensuring that all members of your group can savor their culinary preferences.
For lunch, I opted for the Organic Tofu and Vegetable Red Thai Curry. This delectable dish was presented over a bed of wholewheat rice and spinach. While the menu indicates a spicy profile, I found the curry to be mild in intensity. Although the wholewheat rice possessed a firmer texture than my preference, I believe Jasmine rice would have complemented the dish better. Despite a few minor considerations, the curry remained a satisfactory culinary experience.
However, the pièce de resistance of the meal was the dessert, the Apple & Pecan Pie with Cashew Cream. This exquisite creation was a symphony of flavors, culminating in a delectable conclusion to a wonderful dining experience.

Yummy BYO Poke bowl

I chose tofu with sticky rice, edamame, mango, avo, herb mix, and crispy onions. Also tried the pineapple, ginger and mint juice which was refreshing. My husband tried the sunrise juice - we weren’t big fans of that one. Nice positioning of the restaurant in the famous Cascais market on the top floor

Pros: Position of restaurant , Good selection of vegan options, Clearly marked vegan options

Banana bread with almond butter

The banana bread was fresh and delicious! I ordered a Chai latte to go with it but it didn’t taste good. Didn’t try anything else.

Healthy Tasty Vegan Options

What a pleasant surprise! Healthy vegan choices that taste really good. There were some choices that could actually be Vegan SOS free. LoCal stands for Low Calorie...not locally sourced. The nachos are backed...not fried...and the guacamole is delicious.

Pros: Healthy and Tasty, Delicious vegan deserts...Local Snicker Pie

Cons: Portions were abit small., Black bean burger had no bun!

Great toasts

My son ordered the breakfast bowl which had a ton of avocado and a variety of vegetables with eggs, he really liked it. We ordered the pink buckwheat pancakes which were a little dry but the cocoa pancakes had more flavor. The build your own toast with hummus and avocado was fabulous as well as the acai bowl.

Big portions, helpful staff but lacking flavor.

Only came here once in the 3 months I was in Cascais, better options around even if they are more expensive than this, you will have better food in a nicer location.

My fave dish, EVER!

I have only eaten at the venue a couple of times-but I order their Tofu Paprika as a take-out at least once, sometimes twice, a week-& I have done this for almost two years now. 😄 Despite my regular consumption of this one dish, I will never tire of it; It is scrumptious! 😋 We almost always share the jackfruit tacos as a starter-Wonderful flavours!

Pros: Creative & delicious dishes & healthy, too! 🙌🏽

Cons: Consistency.

A well decorated and located restaurant with many vegan options. Besides the vegan options in the menu you can build your own bowl with organic tofu and ingredients of your preference.

Veggie-filled, delicious menu with some meat and seafood

I sought out Local in advance of staying in Cascais on vacation, because I had heard that most restaurants in Portugal generally don't offer veggies options. I ate at Local for lunch with my spouse and ordered the winter vegetable and barley salad with grilled halloumi (that latter of which is easily omitted if you're vegan) and was thrilled! First off, it was full of veggies and was massive in size, easily shared with another person if you wanted to also buy an appetizer. I should have gone back to Local for another meal that week because there were so many other options on the menu that looked appealing. This place is a winner for anyone seeking a more healthy, veggie-filled menu. My spouse (who ordered a shrimp dish that was also good) was happy with the non-veggie offerings. So, if you are traveling with others who aren't vegetarians or vegans, the menu is flexible for all.

Pros: Creative menu with diverse vegetable options, Friendly staff, Large servings
