Worth a Stop - Edit
This place was very cute and was one of the best meals we had in Paris. We ordered the French onion soup, a pea protein dish, seitan stew, and crème brûlée. The main dishes were fantastic, particularly the seitan stew. The onion soup was a little disappointing (the vegan cheese did not melt well on top) but we heartily enjoyed everything else. As a vegan tourist, it was a relief to find this spot.

Mediocre at best - Edit
I can’t tell you how much I wanted to love this restaurant. We ordered the French onion soup, cheese salad, Bourgougnon, Cassoulet, and the crepe. The cheese salad was the best dish we had. The sauce for the bourgougnon was nice along with the veggies but the Seitan was really tough and flavorless. The French onion soup was the dish we had the highest expectations for. It was ok at best. The sheets on top was not melted in the way French onion soup is normally served. It two circular pieces of cheese that barely melted in the broth. The worst dish by far was the Cassoulet. If you expect anything resembling a cassoulet then you will be sorely disappointed. It was truly awful. Apparently it is supposed to be the restaurants take on a fish cassoulet. I tried to enjoy as a new dish but even with that attempt it was truly terrible. The bottom line for me was that their dishes did not represent well the traditional flavors they were trying to recreate. There was also an overuse of what I think was white pepper in many of the dishes. Perhaps the French palette is used to this but an American/Canadian palette tastes a barnyard when they eat white pepper. I want this restaurant to succeed so much because we need French cuisine for vegans. Alas I think this place drops the ball for now. Perhaps in the future it will improve.

Vegan French food - Edit
I loved the baked French onion soup and mushroom pate a lot. I had the seitan breast with vegetable and gratin potatoes as a main. I did find it to be too salty and a bit dry for my tastes so taking a star for that.

Hit or miss - Edit
Some of the food was excellent - the potato gratin for example. Some was subpar like the stroganoff. The creme brulee was just okay. I tried to get dessert take out from here previously but couldn't because they were concerned about running out. It was dead quiet when I went with friends for lunch though. Maybe make a reservation to be safe.

Incredible food - Edit
We booked a table and it seems advisable. They have two sittings at night. I ordered a French onion soup for an entree which I’d been looking forward to. This was absolutely delicious. Everything I’d imagined when I looked at the menu before hand. I also had a cider which I enjoyed. For my main plate I had seitan with mushrooms. I opted to have Thai served with potato. The potato itself was also delicious. I’m not sure what it was mixed with but it had so much flavour. I liked the seitan too. I had a hot chocolate as I couldn’t manage dessert. This was really nice and strong. My partner enjoyed his food too. This is one of my favourite dining experiences in Paris ever

Very grateful for this place serving french cuisine but vegan, and doing it so well! Perfect restaurant to fill your vegan heart to the brim, as well as take non-vegans here for a great meal.

French vegan cuisine - Edit
We had to book in advance to have a seat.
Read moreThe oignon soup was delicious, the Bourguignon was good but nothing incredible, while the gratin dauphinois side was worth trying. We were slightly disappointed about the absence of cheesiness in the sarrasin crepe.
The crème brûlée was interesting texture-wise, the taste was fine.
I would have given 5 stars if it were less expensive and decorated in accordance with the spirit of the menu (something cozier and more French-looking).
Pros: All vegan French dishes, Overall rather tasty
Cons: Expensive, Not a fan of the interior design

Nice to find vegan French food - Edit
There are quite a few vegan places to eat in Paris. However, as in many other cities, many of them are cafes with smoothies, pastries, bowls, etc. Many times my husband and I end up eating at a "vegan options" place with few options. We get tired of eating vegan burgers and fries when we travel and really try to find a vegan restaurant with local food. Le Potager du Marais fits the bill and then some.
Read moreAfter visiting a flea market, we had lunch at Le Potager du Marais, in the Marais section of Paris. I had the French Onion Soup as a starter and Bourguignon Seitan for my meal. My husband ordered the Mushroom Pate starter and Scalloped Seitan with Mushroom Sauce plate. All of the food was very good.
For dessert, my husband ordered the carrot cake and I had the cafe gourmand which has petite servings of chocolate mousse, creme brulee and a raspberry crisp. It was all very good, but the mousse really stood out.
The service was quick, friendly and we had a very enjoyable meal.
Pros: great food, good service

American Traveling. Vegan French Food - Edit
Vegan French. How can you go wrong? Place was packed. They had one waiter working the entire restaurant. He was working his [censored] off. (He also spoke English) One person seating people and working the bar.
Read moreFrench Onion soup was good but would have like the cheese melted more and it had a lot of Rosemary.
Main course had great flavors but my veggies were over cooked and I think our plates had been sitting out for awhile since food was cool also would have like a little better presentation.
For the price of the meals dishes could have used a little more color/ presentation.
I gave it four stars since place has great potential. I think one additional waiter would have made a difference. (But it's 2022 and every place needs extra help)
Pros: Vegan French, They did not use processed foods , Incredible deserts
Cons: Short staffed, Meals could use a little presentation , We felt ignored when we walked in

I had really high expectations due to all the wonderful reviews on here, but have to say I was pretty disappointed.
Read moreWe had the onion soup, which was fine and the vegan pate which was good but sadly also not the best i've had.
For mains we had the boeuf buorginion which was a very nice stew, but not very close to the original in taste.
The crepe was really awful, the filling tasted parfumed and the dough was soggy.
Also the interieur is not very charming, so i didn't feel like spending a nice evening there.
I definitely wouldn't visit again sadly :(
Pros: Fully vegan menu, mostly french cuisine (rare find
Cons: bad execution, worn down interieur

Amazing! Must try in Paris! - Edit
Wonderful service and amazing vegan food. We called and got a last minute reservation on our way there, probably could’ve gotten a table anyway being early Sunday evening but the reservation was a nice guarantee.
Read moreI had one of their specials for the night, seitan with cashew and mushroom cream sauce with the potato side and also what I think was an artichoke/tomato side (delicious whatever it was lol), one of the best vegan meals I’ve ever had, for context I’ve been vegan for 5-6 years and live in NYC. My mom had the beef bourguignon, also very good (she’s not vegan and loved it).
For as long as I’ve been vegan I’ve been waiting for a good vegan crème brûlée and this place delivered 😋
Highly recommend for a nice sit down meal in Paris 💕
Pros: Tons of classic French dishes but vegan, Lots of dessert options, Great service
Cons: Wine selection isn’t great

Tasty food - Edit
If you are looking for a place that has food that tastes like it was home-made, then this is a restaurant to consider in Paris. The menu consists of veganized versions of traditional French dishes. I had the "cassoulet", which was very nice, but if you dont't like seaweed it's probably best to chose another option; my travel companion had the "blanquette" and she said it was great. Service was quick. It might be a bit expensive, but it's totally worth it.

If you’re looking for French cuisine but with a vegan twist, then this is the place for you.
Read moreTried the vegan Bourguignon (made from seitan) and the crème brûlée and also the soup of the day.
Was delicious indeed. It’s a tad to the expensive side but well worth it. But these are normal prices in Paris so you can expect these prices all over town.

Pros: 100% vegan menu , Delicious French food
