I stumbled upon Le Jardin by chance, which is an indirect way of saying that it's conveniently located in central Biarritz.

The menu is small, but interesting. They have blackboard specials. Everything is fresh, vegan & delicious. Top that off with the friendliest people you'll meet in Biarritz & you've got a "must visit" place. Highly recommended.

I think this is owned and ran by a couple (apologies for the assumption of not!). They are both fully vegan and Le Jardin is clearly a labour of love, because the food is incredible.

The place itself is really cool, we had a warm welcome and were served quickly.
We had the tomato and mozzarella salad to start (not pictured but was amazing and so fresh), tofu ‘fish’, burger, then crème brûlée and an amazing little chocolate pudding for dessert. Took some cheesecake away and that was incredible too!
It’s really amazing to go somewhere that offers amazing options that you can 100% trust are vegan.
They also spoke English, Spanish and some German (as well as French of course)!

Read moreI had the nuggets with potatoes, and they tasted like no other nuggets I tried before. My friends had the polenta cream and a stuffed zucchini (stuffed with soy protein). It was very good and original.
The staff was so friendly and the place is cosy and nice.

we went there for lunch. the menu is small but totally enough. we had the dail menu. it was a salad with cream and homemade vegan bacon as a starter. the main was springrolls. both were amazing. the offer a big selection of desserts. try them. they are great. totally worth to go there. 👌🏻

We loved the food, the owners are lovely animal rights activists and the location is pleasant.
Read moreWe started with the "Fruit défendu", an original composition with apple, fennel and walnuts, very well seasoned. Then we had the "La fleur en épi": polenta, cauliflower, smoked tofu and hazelnuts. This dish was filling and light (digestible) at the same time and nutritionally balanced: protein/legumes, cereals, vegetable, nuts, all in one dish, that means: very tasty and healthy at the same time. What more could you ask for?
Our desert was the Gâteau Basque in vegan version: a MUST!!! We also had the chocolate cream with shortbread cakes with orange blossom. Excellent though the coconut was a little too dominant for our taste.
The owners cook and serve personally which gives an opportunity to get in touch and speak about animal rights issues in the Pays Basque and elsewhere.
All in all a very pleasant experience. We will definitely return.
Oh yes, and one more thing: the toilet is new and very clean.
Nous avons adoré la nourriture, les propriétaires sont adorables et l'endroit est agréable.
Nous avons commencé par le "Fruit défendu", une composition originale à base de pomme, fenouil et noix, très bien assaisonnée. Puis nous avons dégusté "La fleur en épi" : polenta, chou-fleur, tofu fumé et noisettes. Ce plat était à la fois rassasiant et léger (digeste) et nutritionnellement équilibré : protéines/légumineuses, céréales, légumes, noix, le tout dans un seul plat, donc très savoureux et sain à la fois. Que demander de plus ?
Pour dessert nous avons choisi le Gâteau Basque vegan : un MUST ! !! Nous avons également pris la crème au chocolat avec des gâteaux sablés à la fleur d'oranger. Excellent bien que la noix de coco soit un peu trop dominante à notre goût.
Les propriétaires cuisinent et assurent le service eux-mêmes ce qui permet d'entrer en contact et de parler des droits des animaux au Pays Basque et ailleurs.
Dans l'ensemble, une expérience très agréable. Nous reviendrons certainement.

Incroyable : je n'ai jamais pris autant de plaisir à table et je n'ai jamais autant été aussi surpris par l'inventivité (payante !) des plats, sur une quantité importante de restaurant vegans essayés.
Read moreUne valse en 3 temps : des saveurs punchy pour démarrer, puis la découverte d'arômes étonnants et parfaitement accordés, et enfin la synthèse de tout cela. J'ai l'habitude de gloutonner rapidement mon assiette, mais à chaque bouchée ma fourchette me tombait, littéralement, des mains.
Les assiettes sont en plus très belles et appétissantes, les textures élaborées, avec une attention particulière à proposer une nourriture saine et sans simili-machin à chaque coups de fourchette.
Un grand bravo : de l'entrée au dessert, tout nous a surpris, épaté, régalé.

We had a nice dinner here for our 20 years anniversary (which they even remembered when serving desert, very thoughtful). Small restaurant located close to a parking in the centre. Definitely worth going, but like other restaurants in Biarritz it is never cheap.

It is so nice to come back to Biarritz to see the number of vegan restaurants growing. The owners were very friendly and we were very impressed with the service. We had a delicious tagine dish and a creamy cauliflour dish. The carrot juice was also lovely and the gateaux Basque (regional cake) was really delicious. The decor with all the plants and retro furniture was awesome and creates a really nice atmosphere. Highly recommended!
