Literally the worst place to work and cold food

I worked here when they were NOTHING. When they didn’t have tables, they were just putting up the decor. I washed dishes in the dish pit when they wanted to save money on hours. When the bartender was late, or wasn’t coming in till later, I went to the LCBO FOR THEM. This happened more than twice. Then I started getting attitude from Pedro, one of the owners. He called himself “Miranda priestly” after noticing the way he started talking to me. He said “I’m sorry I’m not trying to be Miranda but EMILY!” Because the tables weren’t straight. Like we are taking millimeters. Because guests don’t want to eat at places where tables are not aligned. But the tables were not lining up because they all needed coasters to be put under breath every single table stand so that they wouldn’t rock back and forth. The rocking back and forth was why they were not aligned but no. It’s sylvias fault. She can’t do anything right. It was getting pathetic. And he’s supposed to be helping people? (He’s a therapist lmao!!!) he would nit pick EVERYTHING!!!! down to how I was bending my knees when I was moving the rock that held down the umbrella on the patio. We had to practice bending my knees while picking up the rock because i wasn’t bending over correctly. Dude, my back is fine, I have a patio to set up FOR YOUR RESTAURANT. In case you hadn’t noticed. But nit picking how I held a rock was more important at that point. And I promise you, it is not for my backs sake. It was just another thing I was doing wrong. He told me that I needed to WASH THE OUTSIDE. Like take a wet rag and “wash the outside, the window sills, because if we don’t do it now it will get dirtier and dirtier over time”. I’m sorry, but this is legit a hole in the wall on a side street in downtown Toronto’s little Italy. RIGHT NEXT DOOR, there’s a convenience store. Like, I seriously don’t get it. I understand windex the windows, maybe dust the window sills but on my hands and knees in a dress because I was called in for service that evening, not industrial style outdoor cleaning: I was supposed to wash the outside street of the restaurant. And sweep! Constantly be sweeping the cigarette buts and LEAVES that touched the floor outside the restaurant. On my hands and knees. In a dress. Isn’t there some type of cleaning business that goes and hoses down the sides of the streets to make sure the sidewalks are clean? No. This is my job that they paid me 12 dollars an hour for. Read my Google review for why I was fired.
