Phenomenal food and cocktails - Edit
You can't miss this place if you're in Bristol, one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. The cocktails were great, as was the donner

Completely deserves its high ratings. - Edit
It’s easy to get a bit jaded at mezze/ Middle Eastern options in the UK as a vegan, simply because there’s only so much falafel and humus one can eat.
Read moreThis place, however, is amazing. They have a number of dishes that are rare to find. The owner is of Persian descent and has veganised classic dishes. The food is wonderful and I can’t wait to go back on my next trip to Bristol. Excellent service by all staff and shout out to Rosie.

Consistently great food. - Edit
This latest visit to Koocha Mezze Bar might well have been visit number 15 and counting.
Read moreThe food is consistently great, which is a tribute to both the management and the kitchen staff.
Highlights include;
The ever epic artichoke dip,
The Arayes,
The Oyster mushroom wings,
The Batatas Harissa.
A vegan stalwart of a restaurant 🌱

Plant-based feast that actually fills you up - Edit
Popped into Koocha for a late lunch and left very happy. We started with the Artichoke Dip — herby, garlicky and super moreish (pomegranate). Then split the Koocha burger with fries (extremely tasty and juicy) and the Mixed Grill, which had a good mix of kebabs and extras and worked perfectly for sharing. Craft beers on the table — Good Chemistry's Pure Optimism and Bristol Beer Factory's Laser Juice — played nicely with the food. Portions are generous and made for sharing; value felt fair for the size. Service was relaxed and friendly without hovering, music at a comfortable level, room felt welcoming. Would come back with friends and order the same lineup.
Read morePros: Generous portions, Tasty vegan skewers + warm flatbread, Artichoke dip is a standout
Cons: Would serve the fries a touch hotter but ok

Genuinely amazing food - Edit
My wife has been raving about this place ever since she visited with friends over a year ago. We decided to detour and grab lunch on a trip from Wales to Southampton and, honestly, believe the hype.
Read moreWe shared a mixed grill and loaded fried. The flavours were incredible. The chicken and lamb kebab skewers were surprisingly meaty and very well seasoned.
We’re definitely going to head back at the earliest opportunity to try the mezze. Can’t wait!

"I didn't know vegan food could taste this good!" - Edit
I took my omnivorous partner here and her reaction was "I didn't know vegan food could taste this good!". I definitely recommend getting a few of the small plates as there's such a wide variety. Don't worry if you order too many. They'll still be good for leftovers the next day. ;)

We need one of these in Wales! 😍 - Edit
Koocha is nestled on a quirky street, just outside of Bristol city centre.
Read moreWe were greeted with enthusiasm and the atmosphere was light, friendly and made us want to stay all afternoon.
(Trinity was our member of staff today and they were knowledgeable and seemed to really enjoy their job. They also made a killer cocktail!)
We ordered two large glasses of Malbec 6 Mezze plates to share, two desserts, a dirty chai latte and an espresso martini.
The food came promptly, was well presented and packed full of flavour. My favourite dish was the whipped feta and cucumber, my husband's was the crispy oyster mushrooms with buffalo sauce.
We don't have any Persian style vegan restaurants in Wales and that definitely needs to change, but for the time being we are happy to travel to Bristol for this absolute gem!

Pros: High end, well curated menu., Vegan establishment, Local beers

Most of us were full from our mains but a few had enough room for pudding and the chocolate brownie with icecream smelt delicious (kids confirmed it was)
A great place for authentic Persian flavours or just some really dirty fries
Pros: Totally vegan, Lots of variety, Always updating menu
