Read moreThe staff really went out of their way to make sure we had a pleasant stay. Well, maybe they also made us compliant with 2 free falafel balls.
Unfortunately there is very little space inside (3-4 tables). The directly adjacent kitchen and counter gives the whole place a snack bar flair and makes it less cozy.

Read moreOn the one hand, Just Vege offers decent food for an affordable charge and has plenty of clearly labelled vegan dishes on the menu. On the other hand, the kitchen lacks hygiene.
The low-key ambiance and the unpretentious food is definately something I take a fancy to.
There are both outdoor and indoor seatings available. Service is friendly and the food is good. Decent falafel. Overall good value for money. Open till late, too.
However, the kitchen looks gross. I am not saying that the cooking utensils or the worktop were dirty - but some areas within the kitchen were. It was not only the sticky floor - the microwave was covered in rancid oil, especially its door, that is touched by chef’s fingers frequently, same holds true for the stove.
The food was good regardless, but a thorough cleaning would make Just Vege a more attractive place.

The fries (which you can get in the combo) are really great. Well seasoned. The burger (avocado crunch burger) was pretty good, although it really didn’t taste much like avocado. Clearly labeled vegan options.

The workers are always super friendly and nice even when it's busy. There's a possibility to get a cheap portion of a few falafel pieces with hummus which is exactly what you need sometimes :)

Nice and popular but small place. I ate the spicy burger and the vegan meze plate. Burger wasn't anything special but still a good burger. The meze plate was really nice and I'd recommend it if you're planning to visit this place!

Situated in one of Helsinki's most hipster street and perhaps the most vegan friendly neighbourhood, Just Vege offers a delightful menu with a cozy atmosphere. We ordered burger meals with fries and salad. Ask for vegan options. Intrigued to taste more - especially the pita menu.

Read moreWe had the meze, the mushroom steak, and the vegetarian BBQ pulled. They were all tasty, but not amazing.
Btw, the BBQ pulled is actually a burger, so I think they should move it to the burger menu to avoid confusion (we were not expecting a burger when ordering it).
The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed, more like a cantine-type of place.

I like this place. The meze plate is my favorite dish, and it's always quite good. The flavors are very rich, and I appreciate that they offer a lot of different dishes (like the jackfruit BBQ sandwich or seitan pita, both also good). Keep in mind that you have to SPECIFICALLY ask the cashier to make some dishes vegan, even if it says it's vegan already. Just double check. :)
