Lots of vegan options - Edit
What we really liked was that they had used plant milk, yoghurt etc for all the dishes, which made lots more things vegan including the naan, onion bhaji and so on ... and had a clear menu showing which things were vegan. It was so nice to be able to order naan in a restaurant!

What a hidden gem! - Edit
Indi-Yang has a great variety of vegan options, from starters to mains. Gunpowder potatoes are a total must-have! We were initially sceptical about going to a multi-themed restaurant but everything about this place was top class. And the waiting staff really know the menu inside out and are happy to make sure your vegan night out is a total winner!

The best non-vegan Indian restaurant in the UK - Edit
Everything is amazing. Service, taste, food quality, atmosphere, portion sizes, everything! Knowledgable friendly staff too, which are not too overbearing.
Read moreI would come here with friends, family, or clients. The feel is quite relaxed, but it is all very well done.
The area is lacking vegan restaurants, so it’s great to find this many options at a non-vegan place. My only wish is that it was a fully vegan establishment!
Pros: Lots of options, Amazing taste, Portions sizes
Cons: Not a vegan restaurant sadly!, Quite small - definitely book on main nights

Really special Indian/Oriental fusion restaurant - Edit
I have eaten here a few times and travelled over for takeaway, which is a long way out of the way but worth it, once.
Read moreReally lovely restaurant and friendly staff there are some outright vegan dishes and some which can be made using mock chicken or mock lamb which are really tasty alternatives. Took a group of non vegan friends there last night for a colleagues leaving do and they were really happy with everything they ate as well.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Gunpowder potatoes 🔥, Mock lamb bao buns are incredible
Cons: A bit pricier but worth paying more for quality.

Excellent! - Edit
Visited here on holiday and really wish I was local as the food was exceptional. Everything on the menu was clearly labelled vegan and there was a lot of choice. They have some quite different options on the menu, which was exciting.
Read moreWe had indi-yoza vegetable dumplings and samosa chaat to start, the flavours were amazing, really exciting and delicious.
Same with the main courses, we tried the beigan kathraki curry (aubergine and lentil, beautifully cooked, the aubergine was so light and fluffy, not greasy as it often can be in curries) and we had the North Indian fry, this dish reminded me of a really authentic balti (I'm from Birmingham so feel I can be a good judge 😄) the flavour on the sauce was zingy and exciting. Also had pilau rice and a garlic naan, both of which are often not vegan at most Indian restaurants, so this was exciting and both were so well cooked and delicious.
In addition to the food being amazing the service was top notch. The manager / waitress was managing the whole restaurant so well on her own, giving all customers such friendly and attentive service, the food came quick. It was a lovely place to sit. I would recommend booking to dine in, we rang ahead to ensure a table as the restaurant is quite small but well laid out and well organised.
I highly recommend checking this place out.
Looking on their website I see they're an award winning restaurant and I really can see why, absolutely brilliant!
Pros: Amazing flavours , Lots of choice, clearly marked, Great service
Cons: Small and popular, so make sure you book

Outstanding! - Edit
This was the best vegan food I have ever had from an Asian restaurant. Lots of options, not your run of the mill menu but one with a great deal of thought and consideration in its creation. I thought it was excellent value, really well presented and stonkingly tasty. For 2 mains, a rice side and some bhajis plus a large bottle of beer between us it was £42. It was worth every penny. There was a 10% service charge which was optional but we were happy to pay this as the young waiter and waitress were smiley, helpful and just charming.

Best vegan curry house - Edit
Visited in May 2021 with my wife for dinner.
Read moreLoads of vegan options on the menu, and knowledgeable and friendly staff when told that we were vegan.
The food was amazing.
We are relatively local (but not close enough for take away realistically), so only shame is that they don't allow children or we'd be there for dinner more regularly!
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Amazing food
Cons: Don't allow children so limits when we can visit

We were very pleased to be able to go back to the newly refurbished Bombay Express for a birthday meal last night and it did not let us down in any way.
Read moreThe new decor has taken the experience to a whole new level, elevating it to the nicest Asian restaurant in the area by far.
The re-imagined menu was nothing short of amazing, the flavours and combinations are exquisite and with an amazing choice for Vegan diners we were really spoilt for choice.
We had Poppadoms to begin with, the dips were different to the usual generic ones most Indian restaurants serve and really tasty.
For starters it was time for the Bombay Bao and Onion Bhaji, they were both lovely but the Bao Buns were beyond anything I could describe, you simply have to have them!
Our mains were Shudh Shakari, Garlic Chilli Jalfrezi & The Bhuna Balti which we had along with a side of Cholley Massala. The sauces were rich with flavour and the accompanying Mushroom & Pilau Rice and Garlic Naan were top notch too. The Shudk Shakari stands out as being something really inventive and I’d recommend people trying it for something a bit different. My personal favourite was the Jalfrezi though.
The service was great, drinks were served quickly and well and the choice was good, I plumped for the Kingfisher whilst my wife had the Annings Passion Fruit & Mango Gin with Fever Tree Tonic, which was a new gin flavour for us and well worth having if you like your gins.
All in all, it’s great to have the full dine in experience at Bombay Express back and with all the improvements it’s definitely a place we will be visiting more regularly in the future.

BEST INDIAN TAKEAWAY HANDSDOWN! - Edit
Tastes exactly like a british-indian non vegan takeaway just with vegetables instead of meat (fake meat really wasn't missed the korma and tikka sauce tasted just like I remembered)

Firstly, vegan takeaway. However, for a glorious vegan meal that’s a bit cooler and more authentic than a standard British-Indian restaurant, grab a table and order EVERYTHING vegan.

Vegan garlic naan - Edit
I visit Torquay fairly often so keep an eye out for new vegan offerings in the town. When I heard about the extensive vegan options at Bombay Express I knew I had to try them. I wasn't disappointed.

The Best British-Indian Vegan!! - Edit
Known for their delicious range of dishes and expanding vegan options! The first to offer a vegan tikka massala, addictive tear and share naan, as well as fruity vegan lassis and Italian vegan wines! Our non vegan friends often eat from the vegan menu with us and can't get over how 'creamy' our fav dishes are!!
Read moreKeep an eye out for specials and regular giveaways on their FB page.
Also prefer that the location is just out of town so there is free parking down the side streets and near enough to the sea for an after dinner stroll :)
A fab restaurant that's generous in the community - providing food for local support centres and hosting events for awareness days - a must try in South Devon!
Pros: Excellent knowledge of veganism , Supports the community, Extensive tasty menu!

We enjoyed a delicious three course vegan menu with vegan red wine. The atmosphere is relaxed and Rehan, the owner of the Bombay Express and his staff do an amazing job. I would give Bombay Express 5☆if l could be unfortunately l can't on Happy Cow as non vegan food is served here too.
