Great Lasagna - Edit
We went there to have lunch and specifically wanted to try the lasagna, and we were not dissapointed. They have multiple kinds of lasagna with interesting combinations that turned out to be very tasty! Other than that, they had great drinks too! One of the best lemonades I ever drank.

very good - Edit
Nice outdoor seating and good food. They offer a very reasonable priced lunch menu, I was quite full after the starter plate and the lasagne (but still had to have a tiramisu, which was very good).
Read moreEverything was tasty, but my favorite was the quiche on the starter plate. It felt like they try to use a lot of seasonal produce, and you could taste that it was all homemade.
Very friendly staff!

vegan ‘traditional italian food’ - Edit
Everything tasted very homemade:) I really recommend the lasagne bolognese and the tiramisu! The ‘summer starter’ I had which was the daily option was alright. I expected it to be warm dish but it was not, still tasty! In general I feel like they could work a bit on their presentation of their dishes but I would say don’t judge based on the pictures. The service was also really good:)

Spectacular food - Edit
Food was so fantastic at the Como restaurant that we came back the next day to Milan as was not disappointed. Food was great. Was lovely to meet the owner last night in Como to see the passion behind the recipes including the care he has given to his sourdough for the last 12 years. Would definitely return to either Como or Milan!

3 out of 4 dishes were not good. Food wasn’t fresh and lacked flavor. The bread didn’t come with oil or butter. Bummer

Had higher hopes - Edit
It was pretty good, but based on other reviews I expected more. I had orecchiette, it would have been a better dish if it had been sprinkled with plant-based parmesan, as I saw in the photos. Millefoglie di melanzane, zucchine - delicious! Portions are small, you should take the first and second course if you are hungry. But it would be an expensive lunch. Service was nice.

traditional vegan meal - Edit
Fully vegan restaurant where traditional dishes are reinterpreted in a plant-based way. Their lasagna, the house specialty, is worth noting.

Proper Italian restaurant but all vegan, how great is that?
Read moreA little expansive, but it's on a touristy street. Food was delicious and very homey, reminded me of my grandmother's cooking (and she was a great cook!)

Didn't feel welcome - Edit
So, I was super excited to be in Italy as a vegan, hoping to have some nice cheesey stuff. Had to make a careful choice since we just had 1 evening. Decided on Il Lughino after seeing the great reviews and since all other vegan places just had American cuisine.
Read moreThe server made us feel unwelcome and was very slow to respond to our requests. The chef was okay though.
The food was good, quite different from what I expected to have in Italy, as an Indian.
Tried their lasagne (abysmally small portion size), the caramelised onion with bean puree (which I especially enjoyed) amongst a few other dishes. Didnt feel like trying dessert since we didn't feel especially comfortable with the server's attitude.
Advice : Go for it if you want to try authentic Italian food and don't have other options
Pros: Food taste
Cons: Slow service, Unfriendly staff

Nice place and welcoming staff - Edit
The restaurant offers saisonal and regional food, that is all plant-based. The menu is updated daily and available in Italian and English. The food was nice: we tried Gnocchi and filled eggplant.

Not as good as I was hoping for - Edit
It's in the Brera district which is nice, and a few minutes' walk from the art gallery. It was a very hot day (38 degrees) and the restaurant does not have effective air conditioning. I chose the courgette carpaccio starter which was nice enough - fresh, lots of yellow courgette. Very simple, slightly bitter, couldn't taste any lemon. It was on a sort of crumbly wafer which did not really work. 6/10. I then. had the white cabbage lasagne. The filling was tasty but the lasagne "pasta" was really weird. The whole thing was very soft and stodgy. 4/10. I might go back if I was struggling to find a better option. I wouldn't get the lasagne again. It's ok and at least has plenty of options.

5 star experience - Edit
Loved the eggplant lasagne. If you like eggplant, this lasagne is heaven! Everything else was lovely as well, from the stuffed zucchini, to the wine, to the dessert.
Read moreThis is a good place following the traditional menu structure with primi and secondi, which can sometimes be difficult for vegan places to do without relying on meat substitutes. The secondi options are well thought out incorporating vegan proteins, such as vegetable dishes such as ginger fennel casserole with lentils, and onions served on a broad bean puree. Staff is fantastic too!

Good, but not as good as it should be - Edit
This place generated high expectations, partly due to the prices, and it was ok (we had different lasagnes and one other dish), but it was far from outstanding. Somewhat uninspired. A but bland. Given the "fine dining" vibe this place projects, it could do better.

Vegan Italian specialities - Edit
Il Lughino offers typical Italian vegan and gluten-free dishes.
Read moreAntipasti, lasagne, risotto, pasta...
I tasted a fennel and pistachio lasagne, exquisite!
For the main course, an Italian specialty: roasted flat onions, served on a bean purée, very original.
For dessert, I tried their gluten-free tiramisu, not very sweet and very light.
The setting is very chic, with an impressive choice of dishes.
The menu is offered on a tablet, no QR code, that's a change.
I was well advised on my choices, and received a very warm welcome.

Very good, but could use a bit more flavor - Edit
Really cute spot in the Brera district. The staff was very friendly. The food was good but I’ve had better vegan Italian dishes. The sauce on the lasagne was a little lite, tomatoes on the bruschetta were fresh but not super tasty. Still a great spot and I would go back if I’m that part of town.
