Progressively Got Better - Edit
A welcome as cold as the wares they were flogging, it was something of a frosty start to my experience here. The staff seemed perturbed by my enquires about vegan options, but we got there in the end and I’m happy to report that the ice cream itself was of a good standard and ultimately quite agreeable. Of the three flavours I sampled, the pistachio came out on top over the hazelnut, though that’s not to say the chocolate was disappointing, merely that the other two were better.

Honestly didn’t feel gross after eating it like I would from American style sweets. Excellent in my opinion (5/5)

Okay so listen, I know that tik tok says that the best gelatos are in those metal bins, which is not the case in this gelato shop, but the gelato here was one of the best I ate during the 3 weeks I spent in Italy! The fruit flavor were trully delicious.

There were many vegan options, but as far as I know, only fruits, no “soy gelato” as said in the description here. The options weren’t signed, and I didn’t ask but the scones didn’t mark vegan. And the worker use the same spoon in the vegan and in the dairy options, so it’s not very nice.

Il Gelatone has several vegan options such as hazelnut, pistachios, pistachios and chocolate and sorbets. Everything is really good. Don’t forget to ask a vegan cone.

I am so happy to find this place. I am a new vegan so I've been missing my favourite pistachio in Italy.. Now I can have all the gelato I want! I had pistachio and coconut and they were both delicious.
Read moreWent back to the place that helped me go vegan. We booked a hotel next door so we could get it twice a day while we were in Rome haha. Their pistachio is still amazing and now have more flavours like vegan Nutella, pistachio Nutella etc. so good and reasonably priced (€5 for a large serve)
