This is the closest vegan resto to my home, so I regularly go there. Around 19h too crowded and noisy, better come for lunch or earlier. Changing menu, nice variety. I loved for instance a cabbage dish with quinoa, pomegranets, pine nuts... Or a kind of ramen (if I asked for the siiracha). A few times it was less tasty, either too salty or too dry or bland. But in general, very recommandable!

We stopped by for lunch, but the kitchen was closed. Luckily, we still got some delicious bread with spreads — and the staff were so lovely and dog-friendly! Can’t wait to come back when the kitchen’s open.

We have eaten here multiple times already and were always happy and satisfied with our food. We also went to a Sunday brunch once which was amazing as it is rare to find vegan friendly buffets. There are always options with a lot of different flavours so there is something for everyone to choose from. The menu changes regularly but some classics come back more often.

Visited again July 2020, simply for an afternoon drink. Had a fresh juice, coffee, and the two available desserts:
chocolate mousse with speculoos crumble (4,5) and mokka chocolate pie (4€). Both were nice, although a bit heavy (would not be able to eat this immediately after having lunch or dinner, too much!).
Still unclear whether the lunch/dinner is all vegan or not (wish they would advertise it somewhere on the menu board).

Nice place, all brand new, spacious. Fair price.
Food was nice. A bit of a wait though. Burger was more of a patty than a real burger.
To us, it was unclear whether everything was vegan or not (also not indicated on chalkboard with menu).
Accessible (accessible entrance/ramp at the back side) accessible toilet.

A year ago I wrote this: this is the best vegan restaurant in Leuven and have tried them all. All their dishes are nice, but i keep coming back for their burgers, they change them every three months but they are always out of this world. 🍔
Read moreLast times I have been there I did not even finish my dish. The burgers are not like they used to be and the potato wedges are often very elastic. And for that experience you pay 19.50euro. The other dishes are okay but lacked flavour. Their coffee is delicious but again, 4,5euro for a very small cup... I am sad that I have to review my own review, but this restaurant is too expensive for what you get.

I keep going back here. Especially in summer time. The terrace is such a nice place to sit. And the food is excellent. Menu changes from time to time. So I can keep trying new dishes. We also went here for brunch. Nice!

Lekkere ovenschotel gehad met bechamel en aubergine. Verse citroengrasthee, die had ik nog nooit gehad maar vond het niet heel bijzonder eigenlijk. Leuke inrichting met veel planten binnen, buiten op het terras was het gezellig. Beetje prijzig, maar wel oke nog.

Volledig vegan restaurants zijn toch altijd de beste! Ook hier weer heerlijk gegeten. Begonnen met de broodjes met miso hummus en walnotenpate. Nadien de hamburger met pulled mushroom genomen. Ook de homemade limonade was heel lekker!

Hey Strand is a lovely gastro pub in central Leuven with vegan food and drinks. It has lots of comfort dishes like burgers, but also some wholesome dishes like dahls and curries. The terrace is lovely in the summer.

Used to be amazing, with super tasty, nice sized portion foods. Now is overpriced with small portions. Remains a lively colorful atmosphere. Half café , half restaurant! Service is still super slow. Took 45 min to get a simple linguine dish and many times they forget part of orders.

I found the place hard to find at first as it's hard to see it's open because it's kinda hidden. We tried the seitan sausage with bread to start which I wasn't expecting to be so cold but was quite enjoyable! The noodles were nice but was a bit confused with the excessive amount of mustard seeds. Overall the place was nice, the food was decent but I did think it could have been priced more reasonably.
