Fave restaurant in Tokyo - Edit
We had the BBQ sushi, KFC style chicken and the cheese burritos. The cheese burritos were a bit cold but otherwise the food was excellent. The staff are friendly.

I don’t want to be harsh, but it feels like their food used to have more surprising elements. The interior of the cafe is lovely, tho. If you’re already in Ebisu and looking for a place to eat, it’s a nice option. But making a special trip just for this might not be worth the effort, tbh.

Yakiniku style sushi is the absolute best food I‘ve ever had!! So good ~~ and I’ve never seen any other place serving it, so definitely recommend you to try it out!! The staff is also very friendly 💗

I love maitake mushrooms, and have cooked them many ways, but the “KFC” Style Mushroom Fried Burger at Hemp Cafe near Ebisu Station was exceptional. The mushrooms were crispy with great texture. I added avocado made the dish creamier without being heavy. It’s a fully vegan restaurant, just a short walk from the station. I will be back!

The KFC style burger was absolutely delicious!! Fresh vegetables, super crispy fried maitake, generous amount of sauce and super fluffy bun, toasted on the inside.

We got a complementary amuse-bouche which was a nacho with cream cheese and mushroom. It was delicious, that’s all I remember. Then we shared tacos, a taco salad, and kimbap. I especially liked the tacos and kimbap, the salad was good but not out of this world. Overall a great place for dinner!

This vegan café is run by a former firefighter and is located on the 8th floor of a building, offering a stylish atmosphere with a terrace seating option. The menu features many CBD-based items. The BBQ-style sushi I ordered had a natural taste and texture that made it hard to believe it was vegan.

Relaxing Ghibli Vibes and Delicious Food in the Middle of Tokyo! - Edit
Walking into this restaurant feels like escaping the hustle and bustle of Tokyo for a small cozy forest where you can drink a relaxing CBD drink, eat some good vegan food, and read a book, or talk with friends. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating.
Read moreI went when they had a special burger menu, and the Chinese dragon burger was perhaps one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted--- I hope they add it to their permanent menu. But I've been back many times, and all the food I've had has been delicious, so I don't think you can go wrong with any choice.
I also think it's funny that they have a vegan KFC burger--- KFC or "Kentucky" as they call it here--- is a very important part of Japanese Christmas traditions (due to years of marketing Colonel Sanders as Santa Claus), so vegans can come to Hemp Cafe and experience that tradition without the cruelty!
Hemp Cafe is very close to Ebisu station (a short 4-5 minute walk), which makes it easy to get to from many places in central Tokyo, too. So it's a good choice if you're in the Shibuya area and not sure where to eat!

I don't know why it took me so long to go to Hemp Cafe, but I'm glad I finally did! We went for lunch during their Vegan Burger Fest and ordered two different types of burgers - the KFC-style maitake mushroom burger with dill mayo and the Chinese Dragon Fried Chicken Burger. They were phenomenal! And I was so happy that the staff were more than willing to do some substitutions, which is unfortunately a very rare thing in Japan! Both burgers came with really well seasoned potatoes - crisp on the outside and soft and full of flavor on the inside! Looking forward to going back for more delicious food!
