The only vegan options were fries and fried taro as far as we could find out.

Great option for food in hakone - Edit
I was worried I would struggle here for foid but then stumbled on this little izakaya with some options.
Read moreI had the veg curry and the curry potatoes. Really nice.
Be careful as the tofu dish contains fish stick but the owner/ chef speaks English and is very helpful.
Menu is in Japanese but it translated ok from translate app, just double check everything when ordering.
Pros: Nice vibe , Good food
Cons: Cash only and not many cash machines near
