Excellent food. - Edit
Decided to head from Manhattan to Brooklyn to dine at HAAM as I’ve been wanting to try their food for a while. It did not disappoint. I ordered their island onigiri, mofongo, and a guava juice. Everything was delicious. I especially enjoyed the presentation of the mofongo. Can’t wait to come back and try more things on their menu.

Good but a bit confused - Edit
Started with a hibiscus margarita which was excelllent. Good balance of flavours and the sugar rim offset the sour of the hibiscus.
Read moreWas informed they had a new menu! I ordered the Sunday best which was a baked mac and cheese pie, potato salad, watercress salad, yellow rice and maduros (I think this was a fried plantain?)
Unfortunately the star of the dish (mac cheese) was tough dry and (almost un edible ). Guessing it was pre cooked and sat all night (sucking up all the sauce). Yellow rice was amazing! Potato salad with strained beets was under-seasoned.
I added on the steak for an extra $8 and it was amazing! Sinewy and chared. Pretty sure it was the pre made “chunk” brand and not house made.
A bit of a confused dish. without the steak it was carb on carb on carb. The sweet maduros tasted like a fried doughnut- which would have worked had the mac and cheese pie been spicy.
Think I ordered the wrong thing. Wound like to return to try something better.

This is a top-notch all-vegan place in Williamsburg. The food is creatively made with a subtle mix of flavors. The service, presentation, and atmosphere are also top-notch. The restaurant is classy and yet relaxed, a real treat in every way. 😀

A gem in Brooklyn - Edit
Haam completely exceeded expectations. The mofongo with oyster mushrooms was rich, savory, and perfectly textured — a fantastic plant-based twist on a classic. The chimichurri steak was tender and bursting with flavor, beautifully balanced by the bright kale salad. And the grand finale? A passion fruit cheesecake that was both tangy and creamy — absolutely unforgettable.
Read moreThe atmosphere is warm and stylish without trying too hard, and the service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. A perfect spot for a cozy night out or a special meal. Can’t wait to come back.
Pros: Mofongo
Cons: The passion fruit cheese cake could be less sweet

Only here to confirm what others have said - Edit
One of the things I love best is vegan restaurants that show how vegan food can be delicious on its own. Food that doesn't have to pretend to be something it's not (meat). I can absolutely confirm that this is the case with HAAM.
Read moreOne thing I also hate when I go out to eat is the feeling that I could make the dish at home for less. This is a high bar because I love to cook. I can say that I could never make this kind of food at home.
The service was fantastic very welcoming and kind.
Pros: Service, Flavors, Atmosphere

Taste so amazing - Edit
Wow I feel so much love from this meal😄thank you so so so much😄
Read moreThe ordering system here is very modern, it’s a giant factory industrial building , it’s not a regular restaurant, and there’s no dine in area, you have to order on the app, either Ubereats, Grubhub , seemless or DoorDash , and pick it up from the closet with the numbers by the window. It’s a very high tech system
Wow I love the Mofongo!!! It tastes nothing like the one my dad took me to, this one is made out of plantain, I can just eat it straight without curry sauce !! It’s just so amazing !!!!

Great dinner - Edit
Went here for dinner recently. Had the Island Onigiri as a starter and then I had the Chimichurri Chunk Steak for the main. Everything was delicious. Also, it’s one of those places where they got it down so good that you start to question if it’s vegan but it is. Haha, would definitely go there again.

Deep fried everything - Edit
As big fans of Caribbean food, we were more than a little excited to hear about a new family-owned, plant-based Dominican/Trinidadian restaurant that even had the word “healthy” in the name. Unfortunately, this place fell really short of our expectations. We walked in without a reservation. The hostess informed us that they had no tables for the next two hours. She didn’t even give us the option of sitting at the bar until we asked. After getting seated at the bar, we spent awhile scrolling through the menu on our phones after scanning the QR code. That’s when we realized that nearly every item on the menu is deep-fried.
Read moreIn order to try to keep it “healthy,” we started with the Motha Earth Salad Bowl, and even that came with crispy fried onions. We asked them to hold the fried onions, but they came sprinkled all over anyway. Additionally, the “curry roasted tofu” on the salad was also deep-fried almost beyond recognition. Next, we got the Buss Up Shut Roti Plate that was honestly kind of gross. It came out cold, and the curries all had the same overly salty seasoning.
I hate to be overly critical of a vegan restaurant as so many good ones are currently closing, but it’s disappointing to be served fried, overly salty food that didn’t even taste fresh.
tl;dr this is one of those places that deep fries everything and focuses more on the cocktails than on the food.
Pros: good juices, family-owned
Cons: few healthy options, didn't taste fresh, lackluster service

I’m enthusiastic!!!! So excited to keep supporting this business. Kind, attentive service team and the food and beverages are top notch. I tried the Chunk steak at another vegan place in NYC and I was underwhelmed but HAAM knocks it out of the park. The empanadas, curry chicken tacos, generous portion of kale caesar… morirsoñando and tamarind drinks were so refreshing, too. The place is really beautifully decorated with an original mural. I want to come back and try dessert!

Vegan steak & more - Edit
After more than a decade of being vegan, it‘s strange to eat a steak that tastes „so real“. And that‘s not all they got. Nice experience. Friendly staff.
