One of the best Vegan places we've tried

This is perhaps the nearest vegan place to the old town centre of Vilnius. It is quite a relaxed place like a bar-cum-restaurant. A lot of locals seem to go here for just a drink or a light snack. We were here to eat.

We loved this place so much that we made it our regular and came back twice a day on most days, for lunch and dinner. Rather than service being slow, it is almost overly relaxed. They don't seem to care too much about making too much of a profit, more like just making enough to survive. Quite a nice change from a hectic lifestyle.

While we were here, we had been served by two girls. We weren't sure if you order at the bar or at the table. One of the girls was a nice friendly person, but the other girl looked as if she'd rather have been out partying then there. She just sat on her chair not really caring if you were looked after or not. However, she wasn't particularly bad either. Just didn't seem to care, in a more kind of relaxed way, than a rude way.

Service was a bit slow but not too bad.

Anyway, on to the food. We had three different kind of soups while there during our visits. All were delicious, but our favourite was the pumpkin and lime. And portions were good size. However, one thing that I had noticed in Lithuania is that they never serve bread. Very odd. We also love burgers and we had tried all of the burgers on their menu (6, I think). ALL were delicious, and it is difficult to decide which was best. They were a good size and with a great taste. The juices could be bigger.

This is by far the best vegan place in Vilnius and the prices are also the best. If you are a vegan, or even a vegetarian, I'd suggest trying this place. Very good value for money. And, unlike most Lithuanian places, this actually stays open at a late hour. However, expect a pub-like atmosphere, not a restuarant.

Be warned! Eastern Europeans tend to speak American English and so often wrongly call crisps 'chips'. If your expecting real chips, make sure you emphasise 'French fries' too.

Will be definitely back here if ever back in Vilnius.

Pros: Best tasting vegan food in Vilnius, Best vegan prices in Vilnius, Close to the centre

Cons: Server could be more 'alive', Toilets could be a bit better, Quite small

Good!

I had the Buddha Bowl which was very healthy and left me feeling good afterwards. The cheesecake wasn't what I was expecting and not too my taste. The server made me a special drink when the one I wanted wasn't available.

a bit too oily

The taste is great and the owner speaks niec english.
At first she was a bit unfirendly and unpolite but this may have mine fault, too.
The burger-sice is very good, just sadly everything is very oily and I missed a little bit of salt.
Besides that great bar!

Pros: good value, friendly, english spreaking staff, atmosphere

Cons: very oily

great vegan food

Really good vegan food, we had to wait for the food but it's worth it. We had a soya fillet burger, sweet potato fries that came with a nice garlic/dill sauce, beetroot falafel (big chunks of onion in there but they tasted good), we also got a chocolate lava cake with raspberry ice cream, it was nice not the most amazing one but good.

Delicious food (they have regional specialities)

Everything I tasted was really delicious!
Some things were veganized versions of local (pink soup) or eastern-european (chicken Kiev) dishes.
The only drawback is a certain degree of unprofessionalism (e.g. main served before soup finished).

Pros: delicious food, regional dishes, nice staff

Cons: signs of unprofessionalism (but it's just a bar af

Casual vegan bar

100% vegan food and drink. No.naibs after 9pm and burgers weren't available on our visit. Had sweet potato fries which were nice. Was supposed ton one with mustard and BBQ but were given different dios, one was garlic mayo and don't know what other was. The seitan wrap was very nice. Had a nice local beer. Staff were friendly but had all been outside smoking when we went in so had a bit of a wait until our order was taken and had to help ourselves to menus.

Pros: 100% vegan

Cons: inattentive staff

great burgers

We wanted to try the sietan burgers after looking at the reviews but they weren't on when we visited. That said I loved my sweet potato burger and my wife cleared her plate as well.

Pros: great burgers, good value, local beers

Cons: the music inside may not be to everyone's taste

Decent

I had a seitan burger which was really good. Great portion for the price (6.70)
My friend had the chicken kiev which tasted of nothing and was definitely not worth the wait or the price.
The chocolate cake and ice cream was good, if a bit dense for my personal taste.

Pros: Clean, Good portions

Cons: Bit slow, Inconsistency with food

I have no idea what happened

So let me preface this by saying I used to visit Gyvas Baras frequently in 2015 & 2016, and loved it.

Recently I visited for the first time in a long while and I'm astonished at the drop in quality.

Rice was undercooked (Really? How hard is it to cook rice?), and the tofu tikka masala was the most bland curry I've ever tasted. This was probably my favourite dish last year, but now it's tasteless. Huge chunks of bell peppers which are again, undercooked, make it difficult to eat.

My partner had the Chicken Kiev, which frankly was awful. Cold inside with a dry and floury coating.

The only thing enjoyable was the 'Towers of Courgette', which tasted very nice, and I really enjoyed the home-made pesto.

Unfortunately, even this was marred by the price of 4.70EUR, which is a lot of money for a small starter consisted of low priced vegetables.

Honestly I'm so disappointed at how far the standards have slipped and I'd urge you to consider either Zatar, Vegafe or Botanique if you're after vegan food in Vilnius.

Would be 1 star if Happy Cow allowed it.

Pros: Location is okay

Cons: Awful food, Overpriced, Unfriendly staff

Great food

We ate here on our last night in Vilnius. I got seitan burger and my friend got mint soup and warm salad. Everything was so tasty. We also got hot apple pie served with ice cream which was raspberry one, so yummy. Staff was very friendly, nice to have chat with. And we ended up staying there more than 2 hours, felt so comfortable. Definitely check it out if you are in Vilnius.

Pros: Taste, Staff, Price

Cons:

Nice vegan place

Nothing special. Food is tasty, especially sweet potato burger. I tried the meal of the day quite a few times and I got a bit disappointed. But it's not enough just to be a vegan place. I could recommend this place only for burgers. I would go there again but as I said nothing special.

Pros: Good value, Big portions

Cons: Kinda sleepy atmosphere , That's not low salt of low fat place (just saying)

Great

We tried 3 main courses and cake with the ice-cream. Everything was delicious. I am not a massive sweets fan, but the cake my boyfriend ordered was so good that I ate half of his portion. The Vanilla ice-cream was the most milky milkless ice-cream I have ever tried. The cheese tasted like normal cheese as well, so I recommend to take there your not vegan friends. They will love the food there.

Pros: cheap, tasty, fully vegan, very nice waitress

Cons: a little bit heavy and not super healthy

Best vegan food I've ever eaten!

It's placed in small street near to main one. Quiet place with really great peaceful and chilling music. Sweet potatoes soup was heaven! My burger was perfect like not dry (it happens that vegan / vegetarian burgers are so dry). Falafeles of course we're greate with their hummus. You don't have to be afraid that you might be a little bit hungry after your diner here because dishes are really big. And their Lithuanian beer is also great like a little bit sour and light.

Pros: Near to main street, Place where you can chill out, Friendly staff

Cons: Small bar- not many people can be here at once
