Great Vegan Options with Room for Improvement - Edit
Charming place with a welcoming ambiance and plenty of seating. Clearly marked vegan menu items and plant milk options like soy. We tried the vegan sammie sandwich and the vegan scramble. The scramble was flavorful and satisfying. The sandwich, however, left much to be desired, with large, bland blocks of tofu with minimal flavor. The vegan banana bread was delicious!

They banana bread is life - Edit
I cannot begin to explain how good the banana bread is. So moist. Perfectly crunchy crust. Nicely flavored. I always get a loaf when I’m here.

Good coffee, ok food options - Edit
I've been here a few times now, and the coffee is always good and well prepared. I appreciate the atmosphere and the vegan options in the drinks, as well as the syrups being mostly vegan. The food options are ok at best, I haven't tried any as far as taste but the options are not incredibly varied. However this still makes it a decent stop for anyone looking for a coffee or something of the like.

could use some work - Edit
Had been to Groundswell a few times and was never a huge fan. They just didn't seem to know what vegan was all about. For example, they said they had vegan french toast. It was banana bread with chocolate syrup on top (!). One time, we ordered guacamole and chips and got a serving of guac in one of those little ketchup cups -- maybe two tablespoons? Gave up some time in 2018 when I went with a couple of friends. We ordered pretty simple dishes, but one didn't come until 30 minutes (we counted) after the other two, which is a downer for people eating together. While we were waiting, we saw the cook in the kitchen not doing a tremendous amount. He also took out the garbage and went back to cooking without washing his hands. I did tell the owners at the time and they offered us a free meal. But it was about my 5th time there, and I did not want to go back.

Coffee & Biscuits - Edit
They have oat milk! Also their vegan food items are pretty good. I don’t really go there for food but it’s always nice to know you can grab a bite if you get hungry mid study session

Vegan options, not a lot during brunch, but delicious. - Edit
There's only two vegan options during brunch, so I wouldn't recommend it if you want a ton of variety. However, the food is great and the coffee is locally sourced!

This dish is SO good! The dressing is amazing. Probably my favorite vegan dish at any restaurant in the twin cities. Plus the bakery and coffee products are delicious!
