Great food! - Edit
There was a queue outside (always a good sign). Linked to the Hare Krishna temple next door, atmosphere is cozy and informal. The Veggie Thali makes for a great lunch, great flavours, dahl soup the best I’ve had so far, will definitely try more options soon.

Really great Thalis! - Edit
I’ve been going to Govinda’s for quite a few years now and it never disappoints . The food is always freshly cooked and even the smallest thali (The Veggie one) is a very decent size portion. It’s really good value for money too in London, especially Soho. That’s why it’s always full but you still never have to wait too long to get served . It’s an excellent place and I’ve recommended it to lots of friends, both vegan and non-vegan.
Read morePros: Freshly cooked , Cheap , Good portion sizes
Cons: Not enough vegan curry or dessert options

Delicious fast food - Edit
Govinda's is a really tasty little Indian restaurant with a canteen style setup - grab a tray, choose your drink, order the food and grab your sundries. In the theatre district it's really convenient to grab a bite before a show.

Great flavors - Edit
One of my favorite Indian restaurants in the area. They have a variety of options on their menu. I tend to get a dish with paneer. Flavors are just right for my taste and the spiciness level is perfect.

Great value for great food - Edit
Nice selections, not too rich, medium spicy. Dal, rice, kidney beans, friendly quick service. Good location close to British museum. Understandably it is busy, can be cramped.

Govinda’s is always a good choice - Edit
I got the Vegan 5 Item special. Definitely a good choice. The carrot/coconut curry was truly the standout. Brown rice was mediocre, but no oil which I count as a win! The dal was thin and the bread roll was close to airline bread! Still, this was a healthy and not costly meal in central London! £8

Edit ( 20-09-2024 ) : The veggie is the best option for vegans, and 7,95 £ as of current pricing. Still recommend the place, and it has a toilet downstairs

Not bad, not great. - Edit
Had the large thali, a Vegan lassi and a couple of chapati.
Read moreSome of the curries on the thali were good, others were average.
The lassi was very disspaointing, very artificial and did not taste natural at all. Would not recommend that.
The food was alright and I'd probably come back for a quick affordable eat but not in a rush.

Surprising good - Edit
Walked pass by this restaurant during dinner time. Order the large Thail for £10.95 which contains several curries. Most of the time I didn’t like red bean but their spicy red bean curry really amazed me. Good money for the portion and taste.
