Great Pizza

The pizza Rosina (spicy) was very delicious - with tomato sauce, marinated eggplant, vegan chorizo, fresh herbs, rose-peperoncino. The edge of the pizza crust was amazing - very tasty and perfectly soft and crispy. The middle of the crust was very thin, for me a bit too thin - while holding a piece of pizza in my hand, the floppy crust was hanging down. The toppings tasted great, the combination of them was perfect. Only one of us ordered a drink, and when they served it, they additionally served a bottle of tap water for all of us for free. The atmosphere was cosy, they played music. Many seats inside and outside. The staff was friendly. They spoke to us in English. Payment options restricted, only card payment.

Pure dough perfection

One of the best pizza I have ever had. The dough is light and airy, the toppings original and carefully balanced and all pizzas come with a delicious dip on the side. They used to add pickled vegetables as well but sadly stopped. Don’t miss the tiramisù - can’t believe it’s vegan!
It’s usually pretty busy so make sure to book in advance.
Great service too!

Great pizza

Absolutely delicious all vegan pizza. We got 2 large and 3 small pizzas to share for 4 people and it was perfect. Regret not getting the Caesar salad though because it looked great too. The pizzas even come with fun sauces on the plates that we loved. Dessert was lackluster though and the seating was extremely uncomfortable. The tiramisu was mushy and had only a layer of pistachios on top, no other pistachio flavors. One star off because we were practically sitting on top of the people next to us, which made the meal awkward. There are just too many tables outside to fit comfortably. Another star off because the service was really inattentive as well. We asked 2 different people for more cutlery (we were 4 people and there was only enough for 3 on the table) and it never came. No one took our drink order before the food, was never asked us how our food was, and had to keep trying to flag the server down to pay. Honestly ruined the experience for me.

Not worth the hype, sadly

It's the little things that gives an overrated restaurant away and it is usualy not the food. The pizzas where...fine, a bit too much dough and a suggy crust for me, maybe I just don't understand "neo-nepolitanic" cusine. Yet, we're told to "respect the individual design of each pizza" or something like that, in the menu. Again, it is not about the food here. The wine glass was 1/6 filled with a bland wine, the toilets where dirty, the tables where rocky, the water was luke warm etc. The whole thing was just not very pleasant, tastety or eye opening in any way. Pricy too, that part the owners got dialed in. Went straight to the local kneipe for personal service, a proper glass size, friendly people and some nite toilets.

Pros: Polite, but distant service, We got a table

Cons: Tiny drinks, Too much dough vs fillings, Dirty toilet

Delicious and wholesome pizza

Such a great place to celebrate a variety of vegan pizzas - fun and hearty combinations with complimentary dips on the side for the crusts. The house bread is also really good and the ‚fluff‘ dessert a dream come true. Would definitely recommend a visit and a reservation in advance since the place is very busy.

Pros: Perfect pizza dough, Variety of vegan cheeses, Delicious dessert

Unique and delicious pizzas

Really fun concept - pizzas with pickled veg and a well-paired sauce smeared on the side. Artistic and very tasty!

Stylish pizza place

I was curious about this place since most ratings were 5 stars, esp. How the homemade cheese would be loke.

I had a Margherita. The Mozzarella was more like a roundly shaped thick sauce. I hope that they would use Tapioka to create a mozzarella-like cheezy feeling.

The aioli that came with the pizza was great und perfect to eat with the crust.

I had pistacchio tiramisu for desert. For a 5 star rating it should have had more of a lemony taste to balance out the sweetness.

Amazing food and drinks

The best pizza I had in years, easily as good as the best I had in Rome. Strong and well balanced flavours, crispy crust and thin but not the slightest bit soggy bottom. Even though the place was quite full the food arrived very quickly. If I had to criticise one thing I would say they could be a little more light handed with the olive oil finish. I loved that you got scissors to cut up your pizza yourself, worked so much better than a knife.
Most of the kitchen is open so you can watch your food being made. I was impressed with the good hand hygiene of the kitchen staff. They were very consistent with washing their hands after touching their hair/ face/ personal drinks/... Sadly the servers were not, one of them pulled out a used tissue, wiped around her nose and then continued to handle food without cleaning her hands.
Primary language seems to be English there, staff spoke English with one another and guests were greeted in English. The menu was bilingual (English/ German).

Best dough in town

There's already two very good vegan Pizza places in Berlin with Al Catzone and Stella Nera. Both serve high quality traditional Neapolitan-style pizza. Did Berlin need a third Neapolitan-style pizza place? Well, if it's a pizzeria like Gemello the answer is a resounding yes! The description as neo-neapolitan feels quite fitting here. Both the restaurant and, more importantly, the pizza itself are a much more modern take on the eternal Nepali classic.

The restaurant itself has a very minimalistic interior design - lots of steel and glass. If at all possible, get a seat letting you look into the kitchen. It's definitely worth it. It's also a good idea to reserve seats, especially if you're in a group. Even for Prenzlauer Berg standards, the vibe is extremely cool and more on the high end level. However, their Pizza making skills live up to that high promise. The pizza itself looks quite traditional, but the plating feels rather high dining, as it comes with some sauces and pickled vegetables on the side. And a pair of scissors to cut your pizza with. As other reviewers have said: the dough is fantastic. But I was equally taken by the toppings. From the more traditional Margherita to more unique flavor combitions - it all delivered. Vegan cheeses on pizzas can often leave a lot to be desired, but here they were great in the sense that they blended into the overall flavor profile and the texture and taste didn't distract at all. I recommend taking the Nano, three mini pizzas so you can have a taste across the spectrum. They were all great, but I was especially taken with the potato one. My husband on the other hand would recommend getting a big pizza to "get the full dough experience".

The prices are on the high end for a pizza place, but fitting the vibe and the high quality of the food.

Best Pizza Ever

Run, do not walk, to Gemello if you are a pizza fan! This place is mind-blowingly good. The Amalfi is hands-down the best pizza I have ever tried in my life. 25/10.

My favorite restaurant of Berlín

Unique pizza, great taste

Wasn't sure before, but I really enjoyed this place. Well thought out, consistent design, great pizza. I liked the carrot pickles, I could taste the mustard, really yummy. I think it matched quite well with the doughy crust, although the crust was good, not doughy in a bad way 😄
I don't really see a point in the scissors, but it's a fun gimmick

Pizza-Perfection

Honestly, the absolute best vegan pizza there is in Berlin.

We were there on a friday evening right after they opened at 5pm and got a table for two even though we didn't reserve (recommend doing it though - very easily online).
The staff was friendly and the food was incredible. The soft, rich dough, the fancy, unique pizza toppings and combinations, I could die for that. The drinks were fresh and very satisfying with a full flavor (esp. for the cherry lemonade). And the Meze Plate was a really good appetizer. Can only recommend.

The store is beautiful, I like the interior and the style. I will come back. There is no better pizza place in Berlin. Period.

Also this store should be supported as it is a fully vegan business.

Pros: Delicious food, Friendly staff, Comfortable location

Worth a visit

We came here with a rather large group of 12, but since the restaurant was not fully occupied, the staff were very accommodating and service throughout the evening was very good.

It’s nice to have a fully vegan pizza place with unusual pizze. The presentation is quite unique and the dip for the crust a nice and tasty touch.

Card payment only. For larger groups, you can email to book a longer than the normal 2 hour time slot and choose from a set menu. We didn’t do that this time but may in future and take over the restaurant for a few hours.

Vey interesting approach to an iconic dish

I would not call it the best vegan pizza as I read in some reviews here simply because it's a doughy one and not my favourite style of pizza, but most definitely it deserves a visit. Both pizzas tasted very good, the dough was good and so was the beer. The presentation was unique and welcome. The service was quick and the staff were very sweet.

Pros: tasty pizzas, lovely waiters

Cons: a bit loud, not cheap

One of the Best Pizzas of my Life

I finally got a chance to visit Gemello, and my high expectations were exceed!

The interior design was minimalistic. There were lots of candles, creating a cozy vibe. The music was italo disco and funky house like Tonight by Suzy Q. I really liked it :)

The menu was slightly confusing but after a few questions to the waitress it made sense.

For starters we had the funky olives and vricotta. The olives were fantastic with a very powerful flavor. The vricotta was somewhat disappointing; the texture was great but it had barely any flavor. On the pizza it was great, however.

For my main dish I had the Sunday pizza. It was amazing. It looked gorgeous, had perfectly balanced flavors and a perfectly fluffy dough. The flavors reminded me of carbonara, and I love carbonara. It is one of the best pizzas I've had in my life. I also loved the delicious spread on one side of the plate. To drink I had an alcohol-free IPA which was very tasty.

For dessert I had the white chocolate option. It was amazing as well. The mixture of textures and the flavors were fantastic.

The service was great and everything was served very fast. The pizzas came before we were done with starters, which I think is even a bit too fast. The other negative thing with Gemello was that the music was slightly too loud.

All-in-all a fantastic experience, and I look forward to coming back many times!

Incredibly noisy, but delicious pizza

Attentive service and delicious pizza. To our surprise we preferred Gina over Prenzlberg (Gina is their plain one). The Mezze platter was okish. We didn’t really enjoy the pickled veggie sides.
Possibly a five star place, but it was almost painfully noisy.

Pros: High quality pizza, Free water

Cons: Noise
