We loved GAL Cafe so much that we came back twice – Saturday at 9am and Sunday at 11am! Everything we tried was absolutely outstanding.
Read moreOn Saturday we shared two mains: I had the chocolate pancakes with Madeira banana and peanut butter – perfectly fluffy and decadent – while my partner enjoyed the croissant with marinated tofu, fermented cashew cream, oregano, black olives and arugula. To drink we shared the strawberry smoothie (with banana, orange zest, linseed and plant milk) and an iced strawberry matcha latte.
On Sunday we went for the lentil balls sandwich (pita bread, roasted tomato sauce, fermented cashew cream, homemade mustard, and pickled red cabbage) and the homemade granola bowl with yogurt, fresh fruits, peanut butter and seeds – one each. We also had another iced strawberry matcha latte, fresh orange juice, and a refreshing strawberry lemonade. Every single dish was beautifully presented, clearly made with care, and packed with creative vegan flavors that don't compromise on taste. Whether you're vegan or not, this place is a must-visit in Lisbon!

Laid back cafe perfect for breakfast, brunch and lunch. My partner described the burger as the best he has ever had. We didn't have room for pancakes but these seemed to be the favourite with the locals.

A menu which covers great choices for sweet and savoury lovers. I went here with my non vegan friend who commented the pancakes were the best she'd ever had, and I agree.

They have full dishes and an assortment of croissants, cakes and a quiche.

Everything we had was incredibly delicious! I was told upfront that it wouldn’t be necessary to make a reservation for a party of two, though I do feel like it could get crowded quickly. For sure need to go back and try more items off the menu.

We went to Gal the morning after we ran the half marathon. We were very hungry and in need of good food. Although we had to wait quite a while, it was very busy, it was worth the wait. The food was fresh and tasty. The staff was very friendly and a very nice atmosphere.

Friendly staff. Not loads of seating and can get busy. We ordered the chocolate & banana pancakes and the jam and cashew cream pancakes. Both were nice and enjoyed by myself and my non vegan bf. Would recommend. They have sweet treats on their counter like croissants, banana bread, pastel de nata.

Found the croissant to be a little small for what they charge (I shouldn't be comparing, but I had a larger one elsewhere for the same price). The bun was equally on the small size. Tasty, but you may need to order a little more to be satiated.

Delicious and affordable food. Ate the crispy tofu sandwich (took the top off, it was too much because i wanted a pancake too lol) with the vegan brie and the flavors were amazing, and the banana pb chocolate pancakes - good portion, thick pancakes (my preference) not too sweet, love the pb between the pancakes. Will def try to come back!!

From the warm welcome to the decadent food, everything was perfection. I ordered the apple pancakes which were very yummy. I was originally apprehensive that only 2 pancakes would fill me, but it proved to be a hefty portion since they also fill a layer between pancakes with more apples and top with cashew cream cheese which was on the savory side to balance out the sweetness of the apples. I'll be back soon to try the sandwiches which looked scrumptious.

Cashew cheese toast was delicious and beautiful. Peanut butter chocolate banana pancakes were a mouthful. Great chocolate sauce, slightly stodgy pancakes. Cramped inside and out, but the outside tables are a very pleasant sitting experience.

GAL is a cute vegan cafe - we went for breakfast and wasn’t as impressed as we had hoped from the reviews. We took the metro up the hill and walked back. Food is relatively simple and tasty, nothing hugely amazing but nice to find a fully vegan place. We have had better vegan breakfasts closer to the town.
