Llevamos una racha muy mala por Madrid. Primero cierra el Obrador de la Paka, luego Distrito Vegano, Bioloco cambia de proyecto, Flower Burguers se va temporalmente, el Perro Gamberro cierra, etc.
Read moreAhora es el Freedom. Era el sitio americano vegano por excelencia y ese lugar amigable y bonito donde podemos ir con nuestra pareja para desayunar, merendar, comer o cenar.
Atrás queda su mítico bocadillo de calamares, sus smothies o batidos de muerte por chocolate, helados veganos todo el año, tartas preciosas y muy ricas o el saber que con cualquier cosa que pidas acertarás.
Y acertarás por el entorno tan bello, por la mejor de las compañías, por la carta y todo.
Muchas gracias por estos años que nos han permitido quemar el freedom en el buen sentido y que nos ha sorprendido para muy mal la noticia.
Ojalá que el New Freedom tenga una larga vida y una carta que no nos haga ponernos demasiado nostálgicos con el anterior local. Os deseo lo mejor.
El Freedom siempre será un lugar especial y ojalá que dentro de un tiempo podamos volver a pisar su suelo de colores mientras nos preguntamos si sentarnos en la silla o en el sofá. Ahí he vivido muy bonitos y buenos momentos junto con mi pareja y eso también es historia viva del Freedom.

American style diner with vegan junk food. Have been here several times for dessert, a snack or even a meal.
Read moreThey have a huge drink menu which is helpful. I liked the chocolate milkshake. They have a variety of cakes. I have only tried the chocolate but it was great.
The atmosphere is cool and we always love the music they’re playing.
Mains:
I also have tried the club sandwich and the cheeseburger. In terms of the club sandwich it was good… but the one at mad mad vegan is better. It lacked a bit of flavour I thought and there were whole slices of tofu in it ( I love tofu so that’s fine with me but maybe not for everyone).
I’ve also had the tacos and they were excellent!
Finally; the cheeseburger. The cheeseburger itself is spectacular (I would say slightly nicer than the one at mad mad vegan which is saying a lot). However, at mad mad vegan you pay the same and it comes with fries. So in terms of price to food ratio if I wanted a cheeseburger I would go to mad mad vegan.
Overall definitely stop here to try it. It’s excellent!
Pros: Many options for any time of day , Amazing Vegan junk food, Milkshakes, frappes and cake!
Cons: The burgers don’t come with chips

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. I went for both breakfast and lunch. The food is exquisite. I have to add the staff could be a tad bit friendlier but that’s alright. I would love to go back and try their extravagant desserts and milkshakes, but been packing on calories 🫣

I got the club sandwich, a slice of cheesecake, and the chocolate palmeras. The sandwich was fantastic. They did it with chopped tvp(I think) and gooey cheese. It was really nostalgic for good American diner food. But my favorite was the palmeras. So good!

The sweet food and coffee here is fantastic. I had a chocolate croissant and two hot drinks which I thoroughly enjoyed. The savoury food isn't the best but I had from the main menu/ the specific breakfast menu looked better! Cool ambience inside.

The cheesecake was indeed outstanding. While the red velvet cake I found not so good.

Read moreI went all in for a freakshake, the passion one. Looks incredible, but it's kinda tricky to eat. It tasted really good, the cake was spongy, the cream sweet and the shake was cold, fresh and sour, so that balanced all the sugary treat.
Consider that they charge extra for seating outside.

Went there for brunch and had a Caesar salad. It was a really big and heavy portion, barely finished. Taste was okay, but nothing special. Too many croutons, didn't eat them all.
Read moreAlso tried 2 cakes. The cheesecake was really good but I didn't like the chocolate cake. It was too sugary and tasted like cocoa not chocolate. Actually wanted the chocolate-PB cake but they gave me the wrong one. Unfortunately noticed it at home :(
Also if you want to sit outside, the prices are 10% higher...

I went to Freedom Cakes diner for breakfast at 8:30AM on a Saturday. I made a reservation, but the restaurant wasn't busy, so it wasn't necessary. The location is pretty central, not far from Puerta del Sol, and Sol metro station.
Read moreI got the brunch with extra hash brown and sausage. The brunch contained a soft toasted roll with avocado, two slices of bacon, some egg-style scramble and some chopped tomato. And a coffee. The brunch was tasty, I particularly liked the scramble. I also got a white chocolate cookie to take away, which I had later with a coffee.
