Soggy pickles

Got the frickles made vegan and it was a bit too soggy for me. I originally thought they were jalapeños in the photos that why I went but I got here and realised it was pickles and man are pickles not supposed to be deep fried.

Pros: Locations good, Got more options than just pickles

Cons: Soggy pickles

Okay but not great.

I missed their Veganuary specials last month but I still wanted to check out what they had on offer. The menu had 3 vegan burger options. We order the Five Lies with a side of purple slaw and a VFC with fries. The burgers were okay. The vegan cheese was not melted and it looked like it had just been thrown on it. The fries were very good and the purple slaw was the worst. It was so bland and uneventful. The recipe needs to be re-imagined.

I possibly might try them again as they did have some loaded fries and vegan milkshakes that might be good. But if they are a burger place and the burgers are okay, it sort of misses the point.

Fat Hippo

We were after some vegan junk food and have been meaning to give Fat Hippo a try. We ordered a burger, frickles, vegan wachos and onion rings. We got a vegan milkshake too. The food was fine, a little oily but that’s probably to be expected with this style of food. The service was lovely and the place has a nice relaxed and comfortable vibe.

Pros: Really nice servers , Fairly priced

sandwhich was really good but tots were okay

The sandwhich was sooo good and a really good portion. The tots were good but just could have used a bit more toppings, they werr kinds dry. They all come with a double patty and a side included. Really fair priced for what you get!!

Good options but quite oily

There were a good amount of options for vegans but I found some of them (onion rings and fried pickles particularly) to be overly greasy.

Good options

There was a few vegan burgers, sauces, starters. We shared the vegan frikles, I had kula faker burger and my wife had the notorious VFC. They also had the dappa soft serve but we didn’t try this but would like to go back to try. Good option in the city centre.

Meh

Although they do have great vegan/ veggie options, the taste of them aren’t the best. I’ve been twice now and both experiences were just OK. I wouldn’t run out and try it, had many other good veggie burgers in Glasgow. In one of my visits i got a vegan cheeseburger and it was dripping in mustard, it was too much I couldn’t finish it 😬. Chips were good tho!

Pros: Friendly staff, Good options

Cons: More detail to attention on burgers
