Mixed feelings - Edit
I had the chestnuts and caramelized onions and the mushrooms and white beans stew, as these seemed popular around here. Maybe they weren't the right dishes for me to begin with, but the chestnuts were unevenly warmed-up, the caramelized onions were a bit icky and the stew doesn't include any carb so I ended up having to order some bread to go with it, as it would have been soggy and plain cloying otherwise (the mushrooms are delicious tho). I hated the drink I picked, but that's on me. In contrast, dessert was great.
Read moreOverall, I really wanted to love it all, but I found the food underwhelming at best, sadly. I've eaten significantly better vegan food in many other places in this country. On the other hand, the staff is incredibly friendly, the venue is absolutely lovely and gotta appreciate a fully vegetarian business with many clearly labeled vegan options, so I would still go back and give other dishes a chance for these reasons.

Not only were the dishes unique but some of the best food I've ever had. Our server was very attentive and so helpful with questions. A great vibe. Don't pass on this one!

Essentially a vegetarian and vegan tapas restaurant, with all the vegan options clearly marked on the menu. The "tapas" portion size is BIG..so 3 or 4 is easily enough for 2 people.

Good options for vegans - Edit
Many options on the menu for vegans. Quite heavy food overall. We had the potatoes, chickpea dip, bruschetta, olives and garlic bread. The lemon soda is delicious too. Service was absolutely lovely - feels very much like a small business which is nice.

The best vegetarian/vegan offer in Portugal - Edit
We’ve been here 10 days and so far most of our food had no flavour or contained meat even if advertised as vegetarian. Fangas veg has amazing food, plenty of vegan options, very friendly staff and a super cute place in a nice part of the old town. Wish we could come again to eat the rest of the menu

Read moreThe potatoes were super dry. We had to ask for extra mayo in order to eat it. The bruschetta was less tasty than what I make at home, the hummus was okay. The dogs with port wine were the best dish.
So less than average food and too expensive.

Read moreIsto foi o que nós tivemos de fazer: tomamos uma deliciosa feijoada de cogumelos (apenas um bocadinho picante, mais mui pouquinho... e acertadamente vem com pão para aproveitar bem o molho 🫣), umas riquíssimas castanhas com cebola caramelizada (coisa divina!), umas batatas ao forno e uma salada fresca. Para a sobremesa, provamos um incrível leite creme de abóbora e um parfait de cacau.
Mas se o almoço foi ótimo, foi ainda mais o atendimento: o pessoal, especialmente a meseira Maria, fiz-nos sentir como na casa, como da família. Fica para sempre nas nossas lembranças! 💚

A feijoada veio super picante ao ponto de não conseguir comer. As castanhas são claramente aquecidas no microondas (prato a escaldar e as últimas frias). A limonada vem com mel…

Vegan dishes are marked with a green heart, so it was easy to order. We had the Fresh Almond and Apple salad which came in a glass pot! Huge and tasty! Also had the Bean and Mushroom Stew which had a nice kick and the Avocado Brucetta. All super tasty and great service. What a find!!

The choice if you are in the city center. The food is ok and the staff is nice. Anyway, I had a mushroom and beans soup (tasty but small) and a noodles dish that was bigger but honestly not satisfying. Wine service and desserts are good. Great and really tasty garlic bread, chickpeas purée and the salad.

We were starving and waited 10min before opening time to make sure to get a table. The waitress was super kind and funny, the food absolutely delicious (had the bean mushroom stew, chestnuts, figs in port wine, and the noodles). On the pricier side but worth it😄from 19:30 the place filled up quickly, so I’d suggest arriving early or reserving in advance.

Todo lo que probamos vegano estaba buenísimo, especialmente la feijoada de alubias blancas y setas, impresionante. Tienen dos postres veganos también. No le doy más estrellas porque no se puede. Las porciones son un poco pequeñas pero no te quedas con hambre.
