Northern Quartermass and the Pit

I had what appeared to be the one and only vegan option on the menu. Why this place is on Happy Cow beggars belief but anywhere that serves avocado on toast gets listed these days. I’m not even kidding. This was a backup plan, but to be fair the av on sourdough was very good, drizzled in lemon with pan fried oyster mushrooms as an optional extra. £20 including coffee. Wot the Absolut Vodka?

Pros: Nice Northern Quarter setting

Cons: Service charge

So delicious and loads of vegan options!

Amazing tappasy place with loads of options. The cauliflower was so good and the mushrooms tasted like chicken teriyaki. It’s also not too expensive and the cocktails are great!

Overpriced for what you get

Very limited options on the menu, and plat based milk comes with a surcharge. An avocado toast for £11 that consists of one slice of bread and avocado is not worth the price for me.
I’m sure you could do lots better within the city centre of Manchester.

Pros: Good coffee

Cons: Surcharge plant milk, Limited options, Overpriced!!

Vegan shashuka is amazing

Not a huge choice of vegan only places for breakfast in Manchester. This place can make most things vegan. The vegan breakfast looked great but the vegan shashuka had vegan cheese and spinach instead of feta and eggs.
Delicious!!! Friendly staff too.

Pros: Vegan shashuka, Friendly, Central

Very good

The menu was a little limited, but I had both the sweet potato salad and the avocado toast and they were both worth 5 stars. My only qualm, really, was the limited menu. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was very cool.

Lovely food!

I’ve been to Evelyn’s twice - once for a coffee/dessert and once for something a bit more substantial - the food did not disappoint on either occasion! Had a lovely charcoal latte with a slice of vegan cheesecake the first time and a number of small plates with a cocktail and dessert the second time. All were absolutely delicious and flavoursome - despite Evelyn’s not being a vegan/vege establishment, they certainly know how to cook vegan food and they do it extremely well! Highly recommended 👍🏼

Posh meal out

Evelyn’s is a great spot for a ‘fancier’ meal out. Great atmosphere and beautiful restaurant. Lots of vegan & GF options, with the menu changing seasonally, so you have more reason to go back! A bit on the pricier side, but good for a treat.

Pros: Lots of vegan & GF options, Wonderful atmosphere

Cons: Bit expensive
