Incredible faux meats - Edit
El Palote has some of the best vegan tacos in DFW. Their soy meat has the perfect texture and flavor. Their flaurito is to die for. Their pan dulce is heavenly and tastes like the pan I remember eating as a little kid. I wish I didn’t live so far away!! I 200% recommended it to anyone who wants authentic Mexican food that’s healthier and without the cruelty.

Best tacos in DFW - Edit
The wait is worth it as these tacos are amazing, the baked goods are always on point, and the family that runs it is wonderful. Ordering during COVID? They have a robot bring it to your car 🤯

SOOOOOOO GOOD! - Edit
I highly recommend eating here. We went multiple times during a trip to Dallas. Really good, authentic, vegan Mexican food. Cool decor, clean with awesome customer service. A large variety of baked goods as well. Both times we went the place was full of locals. Some just coming to grab baked goods like vegan tres leches and others grabbing takeout or dining in. It was a telling sign. Definitely eat here.

Wonderful Mexican food - Edit
Delicious! Mostly everything made in house. The bakery options are sweet but not overly sweet. Service is a bit dead pan but the place is cute. A little expensive as well but great flavor and portions. The papas norteñas are my fave!

The Original Vegan Tex-Mex Mecca in Dallas - Edit
I was blown away by the inventiveness of the variety of faux-meats at this little gem of a restaurant! If you are a Tex-Mex fan, El Palote is so worth the drive.

Food is decent - Edit
This isn't a bad place if you live in the area and want vegan Mexican options. I will say the portions for the price were on the low side, and I left still hungry after eating an entree. The positive side is you can come here without any worry of animal products being in your food.

Highly impressive! - Edit
The lady we spoke to was so kind and explained the menu items to us as I haven’t been to many authentic Mexican establishments. We ordered the tacos, flauntas and nachos. The food was highly impressive, the staff and the environment was warm and inviting. We would definitely visit again!

COME HUNGRY - Edit
I live in Austin, what you might consider to be THE place to be for vegan food in Texas, and there is nothing in Austin that can compare to El Palote Panaderia. Every time I visit my family in Dallas, I always make it a point to visit. If you're hungry, plan on getting the chimichanga with crispy chicharrones. It's so big I can't finish it. Be sure to leave room for pan dulce. I also highly recommend the tres leches cake!

The Nachos were amazing, admittedly I’m biased being from Texas, but they stood the test. Will be back soon.

AMAZING - Edit
Ok so me and my boyfriend had the house juice (I think it was cantaloupe or something idk) but it was delicious AF, then he had the enchiladas(kind of small but definitely cheesy and delicious and came with sides), and I had the carnitas tacos which were sooooooooo good, and the portion for those was pretty big in my opinion. For desert we tried one of their pudding bread things and then ordered another because yes, that was also ridiculously delicious. All in all- we loved it and would come back if we passed through Texas again! Muchos besos!!!

Yummy vegan lunch - Edit
We came for a late lunch. I ordered tacos $10.50 and got to mix and match 10 meats. I chose marinated fajitas, al pastor, bistec, longanisa. My favs were flavorful fajitas and al pastor, 4 tiny tacos beans and rice. PLENTY! Ken got loaded tacos $13.25 with extra jalapenos and carne guisada and lots more. Maggie liked the enchiladas. You can also bring in your own wine and beer. Definately will be back!!!

Fresh & Tasty - Edit
Everything tasted so fresh - fresh bread, fresh veggies & freshly made to order. Stephanie also cleaned off every salsa bottle before putting it on a tray. The tacos & torta were surprisingly (fake) meat-centric. I was hoping for more lettuce, tomato & onion on my torta, as the one slice lasted only a few bites of the generous sandwich.

I loved everything about this place from the moment I walked in. I am from Mexico and I am in love with this place. Best concha I have ever had (vegan and or not) and I had a tacos plate which was unbelievably good.

I saw mercy for animals do a segment about them so when I was in Dallas I had to give them a try. They were delicious. They heard we weren’t from the area so they stayed open a lil bit later so we could order more food for later

Missing Tex-mex food? This is the place. Lots of options. Not the healthiest - but who wants that everyday! The donuts looked amazing but we didn’t go for that.

Amazing vegan food! - Edit
I took my mom and aunt (who are not vegan) here for Mother’s Day. I am vegan and we all love Mexican food, so we decided to give it a try. We all LOVED it! The wait wasn’t long at all, the cashier answered all of our questions patiently and the food was absolutely amazing. The nachos ended up being our favorite. My only complaint is that I ordered 3 of the fruit drinks and the cashier didn’t disclose to me how large their cup size is; all three of us could have easily shared one drink, the size of the cup was insane.

Solid Vegan Option in Dallas - Edit
We've had several items on their menu. This time we had the Chicken Sandwich and the Nachos.
Read moreBoth were good and both would feed two people easily.
$11 Chicken sandwich and Fries: is good, but I'd like more mayo. It is nice and crispy. It tastes a lot like a Wendy's chicken sandwich. No where does it state this sandwich comes with fries. I had asked for beans, unaware this came with fries. The cashier seemed disinterested in us most of the time. I wish she would have asked if I would have liked to sub the fries for beans.
$13.49 Nachos: Huge and pretty good. The vegan cheese smells better than it tastes. There is a good amount of options. I think I would prefer a different vegan protein crumble.
$4 Melon Fresca: Really delicious, but a bit pricey. I personally prefer the Jamaica.
They had paper straws which was awesome. We wish their cups would also be environmental. There are plastics made from corn aka plant plastics that can be purchased.
Chocolate sprinkle donut: not my favorite, a bit too bready. I've forgotten the price.
I wish their labels and descriptions would be clearer including pricing for baked goods. Their staff can sometimes be slow. Their location is not convenient and I hope they are able to expand soon.
Overall a great vegan option in Dallas, which has one of the lowest number of vegan restaurants for its size.
Pros: Portion sizes feed two people, Mostly all delicious, Paper straws
Cons: A bit pricey, Okay service, sometimes slow, Location (please add more locations)

Amazing tacos - Edit
I had their tacos at the Texas veggie fair. Waited about 45 minutes for the best 2 minutes of my tastebuds’ life. Living in Texas i have come to love Tex-mex. this is vegan Mexican food at its finest.

Truly some of the best food I have ever had. I went with a non-vegan friend and she did not believe that the food was actually vegan. So so good.

Authentic Mexican Favorites - Edit
My wife and I occasionally make the long drive out to East Dallas to have some of the delicious Mexican favorites. Every time there is a line, but it moves fast and it's worth the wait. The chimichanga and tacos are fantastic. It's physically impossible to leave without loading up on baked treats.
