Somewhat bland options on the menu (burrito, falafel), nothing that stood out. Also very busy and felt somewhat touristy. There are better alternatives around.

Favorite Restaurant in Santiago - Edit
I have been coming to El Huerto since 2002 and it remains the first restaurant I always visit in the city. Amazing food, juices, desserts, and very friendly service. There is a reason El Huerto has stayed in business all these years.

Clearly labelled vegan options. Loved the free starter (some kind of gaspacho sauce with bread) and the fresh juices. Friendly staff and good coffee, too.

We were looking forward to eating here but the service was so bad that we left. Also, there were a lot of menu items not available.
Read moreStaff member said you could only use the online menu for the English version even though there was a paper menu available that was later provided by another staff member.
When we ordered dishes, we were continually told they were not available. We ended up walking out and headed to a lovely Italian restaurant 300 metres away.

Love the venue and the variety on the menu. The eggplant albondigas were a bit mushy but the tomato sauce they were sitting in were superb. My Moroccan salad bowl was excellent and very filling. My husband also liked his pastel de choclo (vegetarian only). Highly recommend this place.

This review is based on several visits, since I live nearby. The place is really nice, in a quiet street with several bars and restaurant. They have tables outside, which I appreciate a lot, and good cocktails to enjoy.

However, menu a la carte hasn’t changed in a long long while .. I tried everything on the menu repeatedly 😕. Even the seasonal “new entry” is basically an hybrid between two “old” dishes. It became very boring, good for a lunch on a work day.

We tried this restaurant with a Santiago vegetarian friend. We ordered the chilango bean tacos. Very good ! And shared the seaweed ceviche. Also very good. Don’t skip the dessert. The vegan frutos secos helado and vegan cheese cake is very good !

We had dinner there three times while in Santiago upon recommendation of fellow vegan travellers. Very friendly staff. Vegan options are clearly labelled. They have organic wine and the pisco sour doesn't contain egg white. They offer a variety of starters, one of them is a vegan ceviche (liked this one a lot), salads, mains and desserts (3 of them vegan). I liked the baked beans a lot and also the vegan tacos. I had the vegan cheescake for desert which is beautifully prepared and comes with berries.
