Great place and good döner - Edit
Döner Bros used to serve the best döner in Oslo — and the only truly German-style one. Their vegan option stood out with its authentic taste, great texture, and a seriously good vegan sauce. The vibe at the restaurant is cool and laid-back, with hip hop playing and friendly staff who actually know their stuff when it comes to veganism.
Read moreUnfortunately, the last year has been rocky. Their go-to meat substitute, Nix Meat, has had supply issues, leaving the vegan döner off the menu for months at a time.
The good news? It’s back — now with a different meat alternative. The new version is still tasty, though the texture is more like ground meat than sliced döner, and not quite as good as the original. But it’s a work in progress, and it’s great to see them experimenting instead of dropping the vegan option altogether.
Bonus points for their cheap beer. I’m glad they’re still trying — and hopeful they’ll land on something even better soon.

The Nix Meat Vegan Kebab Is Back! - Edit
Döner Bros finally brought back their vegan “Nix Meat” kebab and I’ve missed it so much! It tasted just as good as I remembered. Even my meat-eating husband, who’s usually sceptical about fake meat, really liked it. The freshly baked pita bread is also super good! Still my favourite vegan kebab in Oslo, just hoping they don’t take it off the menu again!

Festival Döner - Edit
I tried their vegan döner at the Oslo Vegetar Festival and it was as tasty as it was sloppy. I haven't been to their shop, but based on the döner I got at the festival, I'd totally go. Big portion, good balance of vegan meat vs. vegetables, and a great sauce.
