An Unexpected Twist - Edit
Always an absolute sucker for any bread-based fayre, there was little chance that I was going to pass this inviting hole-in-the-wall as I exited the main station without at least one offering in hand. Six selections later, I very gleefully sailed off to my hotel to revel in my doughy delights.
Read moreSomething that definitely escaped my attention when ordering these pretzels - beguiled I was by their sheer size and the fact that I was in something of a stupor - was that they were slightly different in composition than those that I was more usually accustomed. Rather than being thick, soft, spongy creations, these were entirely more slender and, due to this, they had a texture more akin to breadsticks. Because of this, I can’t say that I gleaned as much enjoyment from them as I anticipated that I might do. This isn’t to say that they weren’t tasty, indeed, the garlic and cinnamon variations were rather excellent, it’s just that I was expecting an altogether different experience.
Would I return? Probably, the aforementioned duo were impressive enough to warrant a second try at least, but I know that I would seek out other alternatives first.
