Moyen

Good for what it is

It's hard rating one of these places. Sometimes you want a greasy buffet and when that's the case this is the perfect place. If that's not what you're looking for then you're out of luck I guess. I don't mind speaking to staff (I usually enjoy it) but it would be a plus if they had marked which dishes are vegan and which are not. Good for what it is. No pretentions.

Pros: Self-serve buffet, Secluded, Cheap

Cons: No vegan/milk/egg markings

Vegetarian lovely food at a great discount price!

As you know i am visiting Prague with my three daughters and my son of 10 years old. Yesturday we went to this great vegetarian place. At the time we arrived at seven o'clock. There were not a lot of options left, because as i found out to my surprise, we arrived at happy hour. That ment a discount off a staggering 40%. My daughters loved the currys with tofu. And my son found the vegetarian meat exeptional. Enjoyed the food very much, it was very good. I rate this restaurant 4 stars because the vegan place i visited before, Country Life i gave 5 stars because of the food and the surplus of options. But they are both very, very good. Till the next review and remember don't mind the forehead:)

Pros: Excelent flavour, discount of 40% at happy hour

Cons: I looked very good, but could not find them :)

Good food. Hard to understand what foods are vegan on the buffe.

The staff new not so much english and was not so helpful with question. The food had labels and some where labeld Vegan👍, but not so easy to understand what label belonged to what foods.

Pros: Loads of healthy foods, Labels for vegan

Cons: Not so helpful staff

Smaller Dhaba in the very heart of Prague.

This one has a fast food, food hall feel, is usually more crowded. Great food still.

Buffet style

There is wide range of meals you can choose from. The menu is different every day and the meals are always very good for their price. Dhaba Beas is one of my favorite places to eat when I want a quick budget-friendly lunch.

Cheap, quite a few options

As a budget traveler i can definitely recommend it. I don't think you will find cheaper options in prague. It has both vegan and vegetarian dishes so always ask. The woman serving didn't speak too much english, but we manage to figure it out

Hide out food

In a place you would not expect it in a street behind the big city square amongst all the expensive touristy restaurants you'll find this very affordable quiet vegetarian restaurant. Ate well for a very reasonable price.

Good choice of fast food

Indian fast food bistro.
Many variations of Indian food, sushi, and daily soups.
Good choice, when you dont have enough time for lunch/dinner.

Pros: Fast food, free water

Cons: price, not enough tables

Good price/performance ratio!

Presentation of the food is more cafeteria style, with metallic plates you eat from. But the food is good, and for that price it's a very good price/performance ratio!

A decent lunch buffet

This is an easy option if you're in a mood for an Indian-styled lunch, but you can definitely find the same type of food for a smaller price in Prague. The metal plates didn't work very well with the crisp April weather (we ate outside) - the food cooled down rapidly and it wasn't too hot to start with, either. The food was tasty apart from the mushroom soup that had a weird side flavour. I really liked their hummus and yellow tofu curry, and would also recommend the papadum with cumin seeds.

Pros: tasty food

Cons: luke-warm food, a bit pricey

very good food at very good price

Not only that this local is in the center of Prague, it has also very delicious food, self service (you take what and how you want) and the prices are good !
After you buy a cup for 20 kr you can drink water as much as you want on the table. They had also mango lassi ( I love this drink). Also Mango also in small bottle.

Highly recommend.

Pros: very good food , very good price , central location

Bea's - Tynska

I've visited a few restaurants of the Dhaba Bea's chain in Prague, and most frequently the one on Tynska, because of the location.
Bea's is not a bad option for a hungry vegetarian in the midst of a day of walking around downtown, in the need of a quick lunch. The food is not bad, but I have to admit that after visiting the place the second time, the meals started to feel a bit repetative and pricy.

Pros: Central location, Quick and easy

Cons: A bit pricy, Somewhat bland

Not cheap or friendly

We had lukewarm food served with no smiles or politeness. It was more expensive than some better veggie places around the city.

Cons: Poor service, Prison like food trays, Bad value for money

Great service

We came here after trying a few other vegetarian restaurants near old town square and finding them all closed. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they spoke limited English but we had no trouble communicating. The food was good, a small selection of mild curries which I enjoyed - there was a spicy relish you could add if you like spice. The vegan options are well labeled.

Good price for good warm food

Serve yourself from a good selection of Indian food: curries, veg dishes, rice, samosa, etc., and pay by weight, a good system for lighter eaters or people who want to try everything on the menu. Tasty and flavorful. Serves dairy but vegan dishes are clearly labeled. Comfy atmosphere too.

Nice find

I was happy to find a veggie restaurant so easilly. The meal was weighed for price, well spiced, and had a nice selection of curries. A lot of locals seemed to be dropping in for a meal. Not thaat cheap, but decently priced, service was a bit curt, but that czech for you.

Pros: Location, Spiciness, variety

Cons: price, service

Great food!

This little buffet-style Indian restaurant was perfectly situated next to the hostel we stayed in. We had lunch here upon our arrival to Prague and enjoyed it very much! You pay by weight and everything is well marked as vegetarian, vegan, etc. Good food and reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend!

Great Location

Came across this place whilst looking for Maitrea nearby as they are on similarly named streets that should not get confused. On the main street you will see the big signs confirming you have found it but you need to go through the archway into a short alleyway then left through a courtyard which in summer is a popular sering area for the Dhaba Beas crowd. If you've read the reviews and checked out the website, you know the score here is nutritious Indian style food at bargain prices (bargain for tourists I suppose not necessarily the locals, I don't really know). Get down here if you are in the Old Town and don't want to get ripped off.

Pros: cheap, location, outside seating courtyard

Cons: fairly bland

Tasty and quick

I had read about this place on happycow, and stopped in on a past trip to Prague. Here's my Dhaba Beas review.

For a casual and fast meal, Beas is a good choice. The food is South Indian style, and you can order a la carte or a set combo plate.

The space is inviting, simple, and clean with warm lighting. There are also tables outside. The guys at the counter were very friendly.

On the day we visited there were many diners enjoying their meals both inside and out.

Next time I visit Prague I would also like to try the other Dhaba Beas locations.

Pros: inexpensive & quick, Indian music playing, all veg

Good place for a quick lunch

This place is conveniently located very close to the Old Town Square, but is easy to miss as it is tucked away in a quiet little alley.

Food is pay by weight - working out to about 17ck per 100g, plus extras for things like poppadoms and samosas. On the day we went, two curries and rice (plus extras) were suitable for vegans, several other curries, dal and chappatis were prepared with butter.

Food was nothing to rave about, but was simple, tasty and reasonably priced. Not somewhere for a romantic meal, a good place to nourish your body and gain a respite from the hustle and bustle from the Old Town.

Pros: Wholesome Food, Inexpensive, Close to Old Town Square

Cons: Limited Vegan Options

Yummy Indian food

A friend suggested this place for veg food in Prague. You stand in a line, grab a thali, and serve your own food. There was quite a crowd I felt a bit rushed to choose my food. The staff didn't really speak English but we managed to figure out how much it cost. It was hard to find a seat, so we circled the place until a woman offered us her table. It's kind of cafeteria-style. The food was yummy, and I would have taken more, but I felt the price was rather moderate and not so cheap (169 CZK/ 100 g....?).

Pros: lots of choices

Cons: confusing, limited seating
