Vegan hot-dog - Edit
I really appreciate that I could try the typical Danish snack in a vegan version, but it wasn't great. The bun tastes of nothing, and the vegan sausage isn't among the best sausages I had as well. Still, a good option to have a quick bite, it is in the shopping district next to rundetaarn (the round tower). And for Denmark, it is quite cheap (approx 5€ for a hotdog).

Didn‘t have a hot dog in a while... - Edit
So, the tofu sausage is ok, not very meaty or tasting like meat but with the sauces and sides very enjoyable. Shared another hot dog (Danish style) with my partner and this time the tofu sausage tasted better (first time, the sausage was a bit dried-out on the outside, the second time it was juicier).
Read morePros: many styles available, good as a snack
Cons: one-and-a-half or two ‚servings‘ required to be, full (my experience), only one vegan option

Yummy snack - Edit
We had a quick snack here after reading the reviews and it was quite lovely. Tasty toppings and quick, friendly service. The vegan sausages were prepared separately from meat. Would recommend for a snack or quick to go lunch.

Nice but improbable - Edit
The vegan Hot Dog was tasty but they could offer more vegan options and create a sausage that does taste more like the “original” one.

Recommendable vegan hotdogs - Edit
Den Økologiske Pølsemand (the organic hot dog stand) is one of the few places in Denmark, that offers a vegan version of the classic, Danish hotdog.
Read moreIt's very good, at a affordable price, and even organic. You can have all the types at the menu as a vegan option.
So if you are in the area, grab a vegan hot dog for a snack.

vegan hot dogs! - Edit
I really appreciate the vegan options offered by this stall, as it seems to be quite famous. I had the tofu sausage in two versions, in a whole wheat bun with linseeds and with mashed potatoes. Both are worth of ordering but I liked the bun version, mostly due to real bread, not the "artificial" one used habitually. And the sausage was very good, having in mind it was tofu and not seitan one.

Vegan pølse! - Edit
Had the vegan pølse with mashed potato here for lunch one day and it was great! The next day I had the French hotdog and it was ok. I would definitely recommend having the vegan pølse with mash.

Never had a danish pølse in 20 years, since I stopped eating meat, but I sure have missed it. This was sbove awesome. The sausages were made of tofu and separated with thin foil from the others. The hot ketchup was devine as the saurcraut, onions and picked cucumber.

Good deal, good hot dog - Edit
Great really fast option to choose if you are on a rush and hungry. The prices are decent and the staff was aware and asked me if they should veganize the hot dog or leave it vegetarian. Fun fact: I think they might have either changed the hot dog or the bun recently, since both are the same length now and it doesn't look like in the pictures anymore. Only realised after I was almost done with my meal, though :)

The food truck is placed very well - hot dog is a perfect snack when you're walking through the busy city center and are beginning to feel hungry. I heard a lot of good things about DØP, so I have to admit that the expectations were high. But in reality... I found the place a bit overrated. Don't get me wrong - I think it is awesome that there is a hot dog stands that offers vegan hotdogs and this in itself calls for applause. Plus all the ingredients they use seem fresh and ecological - a huge plus. The problem is the sausage itself - it does not have much taste and I have deifinitely tried better vegan sausages. On top of that, I don't think that the remoulade they have is vegan yet the menu doesn't suggest that and doesn't give you much options aside from it. It's not a big problem because you obviously can just say that you don't want the remoulade, but it would be nice if it was signalised somewhere :-) all in all, not a bad experience, but a bit of a disappointment.

Good option for fast food cravings - Edit
Døp offers cheap and fast vegan hotdogs. It would be cool if they can come up with a vegan remoulade in the future. The sausage itself could have more and stronger spices, but the pickles and the excellent bread make up for that.

What can I say, it's a street cart hot dog? Nothing stood out about the dog itself, but I was thrilled to find some authentic vegan street food. Quick, easy, cheap!

Yummy Hotdog - Edit
If you are looking for hot dogs in Cph you should come here! It has the perfect Danish hot dog food truck atmosphere. The veggie sausages are made seperately from the meat sausages and the employees usually know which condiments are vegan and which are not. You can get a french hot dog or a regular one - all vegan.

... - Edit
I went to this place after reading all the good reviews and was disappointed. The guy at Døp was kinda rude (but this is just very Danish, so it's ok). The real problem is that he was not familiar with veganism, even though some reviews here said they knew what veganism was. I repeated three times that I wanted a vegan roasted hot dog and he was still offering me all the toppings. Thank god I knew that remoulade is not vegan and told him about this. He was kinda surprised "So you can't eat dairy?". After that, I was really unsure about what I ate. They say it's vegan, but they don't seem to know what that is... The taste was just okay, nothing exceptional. Not worth the risk.
Read moreUpdate: Tried it for a second time and there was a different attendant this time. He knew what veganism was and was also friendly.

DOP organics - Edit
You know when you get back from vacation and you suffer from post vacation depression? And sometimes the only thing to do is try and recreate food from the place you visited in order to mentally go back on holiday? Well, the day I got home I went to the store and bought supplies to make hot dogs piled high with mustard, pickles, onions, and fried onions. It wasn't the same as DOP Organics, but I was happy for a moment.
Read moreDOP organics is a must visit, in my opinion. It's located in a very touristy part of town, but you've gotta do that at some point, right? Ride bikes there, grab a hot dog, check out the church, head down the street to Nyhavn.
We tried most of their options, but my favorite is the straight up traditional hot dog with all the fixings.
Pros: Cheap, Location, Delicious choices
Cons: None!

Tasty quick food - Edit
This place probably does move but we found it on the main pedestrianised shopping street, opposite & Other Stories, next to Helligandskirken. It was nice to be able to try some of Denmark's 'traditional' grub in vegan form, and it was actually really tasty! In the end we had it twice in two days. It's a pretty cheap snack in a city with a lot of expensive places to eat, so definitely worth it if you're on a budget. Depending on different appetites, this is probably not a full meal, but would be fine for lunch accompanied with something else like a cake or a piece of fruit. Do mention that you're vegan.

one of my favorite meals in Copenhagen! - Edit
Now I'm not Danish, but these hot dog carts were EVERYWHERE so they certainly seemed pretty quintessential. And it was really lovely to get to try one because it felt like a part of experiencing Copenhagen. It was also lovely to try one because it was delicious. I know, I know, it's just a veggie dog (although I definitely wish we had vegan hot dogs at street carts in NY) but it was really very good. The folks at the cart were friendly and helpful and knew exactly what vegan meant and which items were and which weren't. The menu was also clearly marked. I had mine with mash and roots (as others have noted, that's potatoes and beets) and a delightful ginger brew. Also, as that part of the world is one of the most expensive for Americans right now, this was the best bargain of my time in Copenhagen in addition to being one of the tastist meals. In my opinion, not to be missed!
Read morePros: delicious!, a copenhagen experience!, friendly and knowledgeable folks
Cons: soy-based, if you're avoiding soy, limited hours - check before you go!, can be hard to find for tourists
