Delish bbq beans

The restaurant is located on Whyte Ave and has a small outdoor patio (3 tables) during the summer. We started with a glass of their house made lemonade. They have a separate vegan and gluten free menu, but you need to ask for it. We shared an appocado salad (chopped apple and avocado in vinaigrette and topped with sliced almonds) and a combo plate. They very nicely split the combo plate into 2 plates in the kitchen. I also appreciate they didn’t charge us a fee for the split, which we had a different restaurant do in the past. The food was pretty good, although the jambalaya was only luke warm. There was a very small half slice of eggplant on each plate. The bbq beans were the highlight in my opinion. The food was good overall so we would eat there again and maybe try the tofu po boy next time.

Pros: Tasty beans, Separate vegan menu, Outdoor patio in summer

Cons: Like warm jambalaya

Spicy!

The menu has a cajun theme with po’boy sandwiches, jambalaya and fried eggplant, and a jambalaya fried eggplant combo that comes with bbq beans. There is a vegetarian easily made vegan option in every menu category except dessert. We got combos, which come with bbq beans. It was very spicy, but delicious.

Server was very helpful as menu wasn’t specifically marked. Just had to leave off a sauce to make vegan. The creamy sauce might have tamed the spice a lot.

Pros: Great food , Great price, Fun diner atmospheres
