Serves meat, vegan options available. Falafel joint offering vegan choices that include falafel pita, salads and hummus with toppings. Open Mon-Sun 11:00-23:00.
First visit was amazing: a royally stuffed pita bread with very good falafels, veggies and a lot of sauce (which I like). So I came back a few days later for another one. Unfortunately that falafel ended in visiting the toilet, both for me and my friend who ate exactly the same as me (it was like clockwork - a very bonding experience, yet not something you would aspire to).
Went back to alarm the staff, who are very nice and hospitable people by the way. She made sure everything is made fresh and it sounded like a solid story, but if you, for example, by accident make a batch of hummus with chickpeas or tahin that already went bad, than it is a stomach disaster, freshly made or not.
Well, it's hard to rate. I really enjoyed the first falafel and felt really welcome due to the friendly staff, but I wouldn't come back because of my second experience (and maybe because of the "beef-falafel", gross). So, 3 stars.
Very good and fresh falafels and the service was amazing. I don’t think I have ever seen so dedicated and professional waitress before. I ate pita falafel with hummus & tahini and it was very big. The place is joined with another restaurant, so it can be a bit confusing, but once you find your way in, you are taken care of.
We chose Daddy Cool after reading the amazing reviews, and they were not wrong. Firstly it is important to note that this is a small establishment with a handful of tables, but that is part of the reason it is so good. The owner is attentive and so welcoming, going out of her way to assist. As a vegan she ensured to point out the Daddy Cool menu and what she could substitute if I wanted. Whilst this place is part of Sexy Cow, Daddy Cool's kitchen is separate, though you can can order from both menus and eat in the same place. So if some of your party aren't vegan/vegetarian then this provides a happy median.
The iced tea was delicious, not overly sweet. I would highly recommend a visit here. We arrived around 7.30pm and timed it right as from then on a steady stream of people arrived.
Now, I love falafel but we all know that falafel can be so dry and so bland without all the right additions. This place has it so right. It was pricey at 11€ (I mean, everything is pricey in Split) but it was SO worth. So much moist falafel, softest pita, loads of hummus and schug dressing, fresh salad. The staff were super friendly too. You wont regret it!
