Vegan upscale restaurant - Edit
We really loved this place, the setting is beautiful and the service very good. We tried a few dishes, including their famed artichoke oysters (really worth it), and the spiced chickpeas. Their lentil flatbread with Middle Eastern inspired spreads was also outstanding.
Read moreAs a main, we tried their scaloppini milanese: a thin soy cutlet carefully paned and fried, and topped with arugula, cherry tomatoes, and balsamic vinegar.
Highly recommended.
Pros: Great food and service, Inventive recipes

Pricey but perfect - Edit
While you won't find yourself going to Crossroads weekly (unless you have piles of cash to burn), this is an excellent plant-based restaurant for special occasions, weekend brunch, or any other time you need a classy meal and want to choose from an entire menu.
Read moreWith incredible flavors and options for gluten free folks, there's always something for everyone - even your omnivore friends will leave satisfied. Dishes are meant to be shared (well, perhaps not some lunch or brunch dishes, but just about everything on the dinner menu) and you'll want to order a few per person to really get the full experience. I highly recommend the Oven Roasted Truffle Potatoes and the Kale Caesar salad.
Pros: Among the best plant-based food in L.A., Intimate setting., Excellent service.
Cons: Pricey (but you get what you pay for).

Incredible - Edit
The food is absolutely amazing. The staff is very knowledgable. It's all small plates so perfect to share with friends or a loved one. The main dining room can serve as a very romantic setting or a fun night out with friends if you sit in the booths! Moderately priced to the expensive side. They have a really reasonable and more casual lunch as well!

Vegan Upscale - Edit
After entering you find yourself in front of the bar in a room with atmospheric lighting and a nice vibe you would expect in a restaurant that combines more casual (flat-breads, cheese plates, ravioli) with haut cuisine (gorgeously plated little dishes - like the artichoke oysters).
Read moreWe tried all dishes the menu had to offer - very tasty curious flavor combinations, great techniques, tasteful presentation.
The serving stuff is professional, quick and knowledgeable.
Personally I prefer more casual and less fancy setting - but for a special occasion a more upscale place like this one would be a perfect choice ... especially in the plant-based world where more seriously set dining places are still hard to find.

Crossroads kitchen is one of the top vegan hot spots in L.A. and now I know why. I loved the atmosphere, the L.A. food scene vibe, and that EVERYTHING is vegan. Check out my full review on my blog: https://thatjenngirl.com/blog/2165/vegan-in-l-a-crossroads-kitchen

Absolutely Delicious! - Edit
This is a beautiful, more upscale venue with delicious food! Perfect for a nice date. We ordered the corn chowder, quiche, eggs Benedict, and chicken and waffles and everything was so flavorful with great presentation. So glad we came! Also, I have an almond allergy and our waiter went through every item on the menu with me to verify my options. Great service!

Incredible food, terrible service - Edit
I was so excited to try Crossroads while in LA... The food was some of the most creative and delicious vegan food I’ve ever had—crab cakes, fettucine carbonara, and a peach sundae. That being said, the service was snooty, inconsistent, and disorganized. The atmosphere inside was beautiful, but unwelcoming.

Good food - Edit
The food here is good but I have never been completely satisfied with what I order. Which is too bad since there are so few really nice vegan restaurants. The atmosphere is amazing and it is quite comfortable to sit anywhere in this place. It gets very busy though and I feel like they have so many people to take care of that they don’t really pay attention to details of the food or service or if a customer is unhappy. It’s also very expensive. I recommend trying it and it’s also great for special occasions.

This place seems a bit more formal, I've been on a week day for lunch, no reservation needed. The food is out of this world, plant based on an above average level. Serve the impossible burger. The cookie for dessert was not so beautiful, but it surprised me so yummy. It's worth the visit!

Disappointed - Edit
I had heard so much about this place and finally ventured out there yesterday.
Read moreI ordered the charred ricotta which was very bland and barely had enough glaze on it. The impossible cigars were good but very plain. The crab cakes were on the dry side and the fetuccine Alfredo was extremely on the salty side . Id say the best thing we had there was the spicy meatball pizza . It was not great but it was good.
Pros: Great job at imitating taste of meat
Cons: Overpriced for the quality of food that is being o

Fancy vegan dinner - Edit
This place is far from a typical vegan restaurant. It’s impossible to tell from the outside or inside that you are in a 100% plant base place. It feels very luxurious.
Read moreThe food was really amazing but I was also a little disappointed by the complexity of the flavour.
To me it’s really good at replicating omnivorous type of food but it doesn’t really bring anything new to the table. The portion are really tiny and it’s very expensive too.
But overall definitely worth going.
Pros: really tasty food, doesn’t feel like eating vegan food
Cons: a little expensive

Disappointing - Edit
I had been looking forward to visiting Crossroads for a couple of years. During a vacation to southern California, my wife and I stopped by fairly late into dinner service but well before closing time. Our server speed-talked his way through everything. He didn't seem the least bit concerned about us, apart from the quickness with which he could get us out of there. We shared a few dishes. The meatball pizza was good, but I make better crust at home with a regular electric oven. The meatballs themselves were good, as was the parmesan. We also got Impossible cigars, roasted sun chokes, and crab cakes. Some flavors were better than others. Nothing blew me away. And for that cost, I want to be blown away. I was heartbroken by the experience, considering how long I'd been leafing through their cookbook and dreaming about eating there.

Tasteful and Wonderful - Edit
We came here to try a new place for our anniversary dinner. This restaurant serves tapas-style plates. We got the kale caesar salad, oyster mushroom plate, lasagna, risotto, crab cakes, and roasted ricotta plates. All were great, but the lasagna is probably the best I've ever had!
Read moreStaff was attentive, courteous and, most importantly, non-intrusive with their service. The atmosphere was pleasant and the music performed elsewhere was at a subtle volume.

Cool hip ambiance, great food, more casual than I’d expected - Edit
I loved it here! We have the cookbook and I was expecting something a little more formal, but was still pleasantly surprised. The food (at least lunch) was more low-brow (burgers & fries) than I’d expected but still remarkably tasty! Salad was great, it was my first time trying the impossible burger... all around a very cool very LA vibe. Trendy but still comfortable and welcoming.

Overpriced and Pretentious - Edit
We were on holiday from the UK and had been recommended to go here and try the impossible burger. We noticed that it was not on their dinner menu but was on both their lunch and late night bar menu. I emailed ahead to the contact on the website and via the open table booking regarding trying the burger at dinner time but got not reply. We were told at the door they could not offer it. I think it is a shame as we, as vegans, expect other restaurants to accommodate our diets and make special arrangements, but this vegan and very expensive restaurant were unable to bend the rules even a small amount and offer something that they would happily offer 90 mins later anyway!
Read moreWe were told we should order a snack, starter and main as portions were small but we could definitely not afford all of that so we ordered three mains between two of us. Needless to say the portions were small and we left hungry.
I think if the food was of a high standard this would have been understandable as it was LA and, let's face it, vegan is 'trendy' now. However, the food was very average. We've had lasagnes, pizzas and pastas so much better elsewhere for half the price. The lasagne was obviously re-heated, the pasta bolognese contained about a tablespoon of mince in it in total and was not even garnished.
It seems that they are aiming for upper-market, perhaps celebrity clientele but the food really wasn't up to scratch for it.
I think it is great to have all vegan restaurants, having been a vegan for my whole 31 years and these only being a figment of my imagination as a child. But sadly I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
Cons: Very over priced , Pretentious
