Worth the effort to find this place - Edit
A quirky restaurant in an old church. Run by lovely people. Food was great. The courgette soup, seitan stroganoff and the Ethiopian dish were all fresh and tasty.

Lovely concept - Edit
Cometa is located inside an old church which makes for a very interesting setting. But it doesn't stop there, they also have the whole place decorated with vintage furniture - which you can also buy! Such a cool idea!
Read moreThe food is nice, and even our non-vegan friends liked it. A little bit on the pricy side for where it is (all the way in a residential neighborhood in Noord) and what they offer, but tasty and fresh.
They make a nice vegan hot chocolate with vegan whipped cream. They try not to use any meat substitutes which is cool in a city oversaturated with vegan junk food. However, some of the meals lack some protein and so are not very filling. I think adding some tofu or tempeh would be a great way to make the meals more filling without having to use overly processed ingredients.
The fried oyster mushroom (don't remember the name of the dish) they make is mouthwatering!!
In the winter it gets extremely cold which made our dinner experience quite challenging. But I can't wait to go back now that it's warmer.
Pros: Super cool concept, Delicious oyster mushroom
Cons: Very cold on winter evenings, Meals are not filling enough

Good food, relaxed atmosphere - Edit
We had the Pita Flying Frog (eggplant/celeriac/oyster mushroom shawarma) for lunch. It tasted great and it was a LOT! The tortilla chips on the side weren't necessary (and not such a great combination).

Fully booked - Edit
We were unexpectedly in the area and wanted to go here for an early dinner. We were here well before 6PM, and despite there being plenty of seats available, was told there was no table available?
Read moreI could understand if you put a time limit on it (say, you have to leave by 7pm or such) ...
It was not so easy to find (if you, like us, have no idea where it is). Very dark at the entrance, and as it was freezing, very slippery! Careful!

Hi, thank you so much for your review. Judging by the pictures, you visited us on the evening we had a choir show. We were indeed fully booked that evening. With guests arriving between 16-17 more or less. We serve dinner from 6 pm so therefor we didn't have a table for you at that time. I'm sorry that we didn't communicate this better. You can always call us in advance so we can advise you properly. We hope you have the chance to visit us some other time! Kind Regards, Alma - Cometa

A unique experience! - Edit
This place is so interesting. It’s an old church that’s been converted into a café/restaurant where all the vintage furniture is on sale (as well as other vintage items). It’s kind of in a random place but worth the trip. Their food menu is fully vegan, I tried the aubergine shwarma and it was so good (my photo doesn’t do it justice)! I would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to get away from the city centre, it’s very unique.

What a cozy livingroom-like spot!
Read moreThe food is really delicious with special flavors. Not the regular stuf but surprising dishes. All completely vegan!
And when you like the chair you are sitting on..you can buy it :).
Also good to know…besides the menu with dishes there is also one with the games which are in the house. I’m looking forward to the winter…. playing games and drinking chai (oat)latte around the fire and eating the best cookies I ever ate ‘Leipe cookies’ with chocolate.
Pros: Cozy (vintage) atmosphere (in an old church) , Very tasteful vegan food, special flavors, The option to buy furniture and nice stuff
Cons: limited opening hours
