Plenty of vegan options. I ordered the curry (rather bland) with chapati and the brownie with coconut ice cream for dessert (verrrrrrry good!!). Fun atmosphere (and great brownie) which are the only teo reasons I would go back.
Read morePros: Fun/cosy atmosphere, vegan options clearly marked , great vegan desserts
Cons: Curry was bland (maybe other dishes are better)

Vegan options - Edit
The food was good, not the best in ubud with the choices. Plus make sure they repeat the order and double check your order when it comes, we had to send the pad thai back, they egged us.

Decent breakfast - Edit
We came here for breakfast and ordered oatmeal, raw sprouted granola, a smoothie and a coffee. Shortly after ordering they informed us that they were out of maca powder and advised me to choose a different drink which I did. Coffee came first, about ten minutes later came the food and halfway through the meal the juice also finally made it. So the timing seemed a little poor but it was still okay. The food was very delicious - the granola came with cashew milk and topped with sliced banana, papaya and strawberries. The oatmeal was also really good and so was the juice once it came. Portions were slightly bigger than what I dared to hope for. The interior is beautiful and the overall atmosphere is very calming and peaceful. I would come again. That granola is something else, seriously.

Cons: Slightly expensive, 10% gov tax + 10% service charge!!!, Juices are rather small

On another recent stay in Ubud, the first place we headed for after arriving was Clear Cafe. We have dined here on several previous trips and the standard is still as high.

VEGANS AVOID AT ALL COSTS :( - Edit
When you walk past Clear Cafe you can't help but have a nosey when you see the incredible exterior. I saw good reviews on this place. You wonder in and see plants and lovely interior, however there's small water tank on the left with gigantic fish in. I'm no expert but I doubt it's big enough for the size of the fish.
Read moreWe ordered the Mexican burrito (had to ask for it to be vegan because the usual one contains cheese). We also ordered the Indian dish which is vegan anyway.
Me and my partner who is also vegan shared both dishes and unfortunately we both had taken at least two bites before getting to the cheese! We were so beside ourselves. Neither of us have eaten non vegan food in over 18 months and this was traumatising! I felt so sick. I told the waitress who said to me no, no it's vegan thinking I was talking about the Indian dish. When I explained it was the burrito that had cheese in she came over to us and I showed her the burrito. She took it back to the kitchen. About ten minutes later a waitress came over to us with a burrito with no cheese in and said as a gesture they put extra corn tortilla chips on our plate. Well I'm sorry but that doesn't cut it. The lease they could have done was taken it off the bill. We ended up paying for both meals and left feeling sick from the cheese.
If you don't want to spiked with non vegan food I would avoid at all costs - I hate to say this and I NEVER leave bad reviews but I wish I had been warned if this has happened before :(
Pros: The design of the cafe
Cons: Getting dairy cheese in our vegan meal, The way they handled it, The fish in the shallow tank

Good workspace - Edit
I spent a few hours working in this cafe. It is a stunning space and if you get a table on the right as you walk through the front door, the couch-like seating is extremely comfortable. I was booted off of the wifi a couple of times, and it wasn't very fast (which could also be attributed to it being absolutely packed in there). I ordered the dragon bowl and the iced cinnamon latte with cashew mylk (which they did warn was sweetened with honey, for the vegans out there). Latte was alright; I wouldn't order it again. The dragon bowl I found very tasty - I loved the way the tempeh was cooked. It's a good sized menu with a an alright selection for veg eaters, and also has a long list of sides that you could build your own meal from or at least bulk up a salad with.

First, the place is really beautiful, looking like a hobbit-elf building collaboration project.
Read moreAs a veg*an your choices are somewhat limited and the vegan dishes we tried unfortunately did not impress.
The dragon bowl was dry and tasteless, the Balinese curry soup came cold without warning but the kombucha is great.

they offer a huge variety of cleaning juices, but for vegans the problem is that they mix their cashew milk with honey, so no vegan here!
