A gem - Edit
Just steps away from the Kita-Kamakura Station, this vegan sushi restaurant is a hidden gem. The presentation is so exquisite you want to just admire it. But the many flavors are worth every bite!

We‘ve never eaten something like this before 😍 - Edit
Small fully vegan Sushi restaurant in Kamakura. We came in and were blown away by the interior. We ordered the 12-piece Sushi plate and the cinnamon tea and were not disappointed - it was a completely new experience for us since we have never eaten such delicious vegan Sushi before - each creation was unique. Everyone who believes that Sushi has to taste like fish is absolutely wrong!! 🥰

Defining new horizons of vegan sushis - Edit
The menu is quite simple, with two sushis sets and a chirashi, everything being vegan.
Read moreWe took the 12 sushis set, with ten predefined sushis and two seasonal ones, which cost 2,400 yens.
Everything was amazing and we went from surprise to surprise, sushi after sushi.
Definitely worth a try if you happen to be nearby.
Pros: All vegan sushi sets, Interior design is quite cool, Good quality/price ratio

Best vegan sushi - Edit
I’ve tried many places that offered vegan sushi, but none of them can compare to this one! It’s traditional Japanese sushi made vegan and it tastes absolutely delicious. Plus the location is great, super close to Kitakamakura station.

Delicious vegan sushi! - Edit
I'm so happy I found this place! We went by and got a 9 piece takeaway box for ¥1,500 to try it and we wish we got more. Each piece was different, but all very tasty. If you are heading to Kamakura, it's worth stopping by here on your way and picking some up. You can also eat in, the staff were very friendly and offered an English menu. We were allowed to sit and wait inside for our order (we went about 30 mins after opening on a weekday so it was quiet) and the staff member came over to explain each piece to us. The ingredients included tomato, red pepper, quinoa, soy milk and konjac amongst others. I'm pretty sure there was a list available and you could request more info. Takeaway boxes are given chopsticks, too.

LOVED IT - Edit
So far, the best vegan place I've eaten in. As an Australian, I'm used to some kind of vegan sushi, but these ingredients were so original and creative. And OMG so tasty!!!

The atmosphere was also modern, but very cute and cozy.

Hidden gem - Edit
Exceeded all expectations, some of the best vegan sushi we’ve ever had! A bit more expensive than other places, but SO worth it. All the food was well seasoned and the two ladies at the shop were so kind! Loved it.

Finally - Edit
When I went vegan, I thought that I can never ever eat sushi again in Japan. So I was so excited to find out there is a sushi restaurant near Tokyo.
Read moreThe sushi we tried was really good. What I like the most is their mushroom-based sushi. You can also see the effort and care that were put into making their sushi; everything looks pleasing to the eyes and they made sure that you can still taste the natural taste of the vegetables.
The service was really good. And their set meals are all reasonably priced. As for the location, it’s just 3 mins from Kita-kamakura station.
Don’t forget to bring cash since they do not accept credit card.

Wonderful vegan sushi spot - Edit
I had such an enjoyable experience at Chirashiya! I went with two other people for lunch on a weekday without a reservation. They were full at around 12.30pm and told us to come back half an hour later and we were able to be seated.
Read moreWe ordered the 12 piece sushi set for 2400 yen and it was excellent. Every piece had its own unique flavour and texture. The rice was perfectly cooked and flavoured and the variations of sushi toppings worked really well separately and as a whole dish. I loved the pumpkin and coconut one the best.
The owners are so friendly and really seem proud of the food they make (as they should!)
It's so hard to find sushi that is not just one piece of cucumber and rice haha, so this place is a godsend if you love variety and creative sushi!
Highly recommend if you are visiting Kamakura. It is a short walk from Kita-Kamakura station.
Pros: Wonderful variety of sushi, Fresh and tasty, Lovely owners
Cons: Can be busy so could be worth making a reservation

Perhaps the best vegan sushi restaurant in Japan - Edit
Wow, this restaurant was fantastic! All the ingredients were so fresh, the flavours distinctive, and the presentation impeccable. Although some of the vegan sushi tasted like their non-vegan counterparts (e.g. the mushroom kani-miso), most had their own unique and delicious vegetably flavour. And what's more, the set menu was incredibly reasonable in price!

Take-out for hiking ? - Edit
Well-balanced variety of sushi with vegetables (tomato, pumpkin Kabocha, paprika, radish...) also with tapioca, tofu, konjac... and with vinegared red rice.
Read moreIt is possible to order to take-out. (9 pieces for 1500 yen). It could be a good idea to bring it for hiking (trail start from the backside of Kenchoji temple) and have lunch on top of the mountain.
They are now open until 5 pm (not 3 pm).

Absolutely loved this vegan sushi! Truly inventive and unique - it’s not just mock fish products, there has obviously been a lot of thought put into making it a good gourmet experience in its own right.

An experience worth having - Edit
We loved our meal here. The funky decor, the comfortable, clean space, the friendly service, and the delicious, all vegan food. Our 12-piece sushi set came with miso soup and an appetizer. Each piece of sushi celebrates the flavors of the veggies that are included in it, and the rice was particularly tasty.

Very very good - Edit
Short walk from Kitakamakura train station west exit. 12 pieces of sushi, each unique and very delicious. Set also included salad and great light soup. Every sushi was something new that we had never tired before. Relaxing, welcoming atmosphere, lots of light and very clean. Multiple refills on delicious hot tea. We came on a weekend with no reservation and were able to get a table so give it a try even if you haven’t made a reservation. A true new vegan experience.

The place to go to eat vegan sushi!! - Edit
Tasty and beautifully arranged!
Read moreIt’s amazing what you can create with veggies!
Had a course with vegetable appetiser and miso soup. You can order a la carte too.
On weekends I recommend to reserve in advance. The owner used to work at a sushi restaurant for many years and wanted to use the expertise to make vegan sushi. She explained every dish very politely.
